But the Pulaar language, used by the Fulani people across West Africa, until recently lacked an alphabet of its own, making it difficult for Pulaar speakers to pass on traditions to future generations. A language comes to life Microsoft 2022-06-30 | Pulaar, a dialect of the Fulani people of West Africa, is spoken by millions, but until recently had no alphabet. That meant the Fulani people’s poems, songs, menus, letters and emails were all written in other alphabets—slowly chipping away at the culture, ideas and history that shaped Pulaar. Anthem for All | A hands-free music anthem for the Invictus Games Microsoft 2022-04-28 | ‘Anthem Impossible’ used bespoke technology to enable disabled military veterans to play instruments that they wouldn’t otherwise be able to play in order to create a truly inclusive anthem which was played at this year’s Invictus Games in The Hague. Working in collaboration with Microsoft’s Hands-Free Technology Lab, the project team both adapted existing tech and created bespoke solutions to assemble an orchestra of instruments that could be played with limited hand mobility or eye movement.
