Mistakes Were Made, Still AMAZING! Fly With The Guys 2025-08-10 | Getting my plane up in the air was a HUGE project. Over the 2 year process the panel was probably my biggest undertaking. So many moving parts and pieces that had to come together in perfect harmony. Well, we did it! I'm incredibly proud of what I've made with one exception. Side note, I only talked about 2 mistakes, but if you look closely to the final product it's different than after cutting. It's totally because I forgot a few buttons and switches, 2 of them bing a huge oversight. Others, just needed a hole drilled and labels made. I did add the C02 detector after the fact, which I'm really happy about, and the unforeseen engine controls! Saying Goodbye to My Hangar Home After Three Years Fly With The Guys 2025-02-02 | This is bitter sweet for me. I've been in this hangar for almost 3 years and created some incredible memories. But today, that all comes to an end. I had to leave... BECAUSE I GOT MY OWN HANGAR! So yes, I'm sad that I have to go, but excited to have a place to truly call my own! The move wasn't as smooth as I wanted it to be, with the plane winding up damaged in the end. Huge thank you to all my kids for helping with the move! Worst Oil Filter Design! | B&C Oil Filter Upgrade! Fly With The Guys 2023-12-10 | The oil filter mesh thing was part of the O-320 original design back in 1961. We can do better than that for the Red Rocket! In this video we install a spin on oil filter adapter from B and C Specialty Products. It's a beautiful piece of metal that does EXACTLY what I need it to do AND fit in a really tight space. FIRST fuel injected J3 Cub? | O-320 to IO-320 Conversion Fly With The Guys 2023-11-19 | Our old fuel system was a bit janky. When I tried to get it rebuilt I found out I couldn't! No one made the parts. SO, instead of chasing the rabbit down the hole I got rid of what I had and partnered with AvStar to convert this Lycoming O-320 to an IO-320. You read that right, we're fuel injecting Red Rocket. Could this possibly be the FIRST fuel injected J3 Cub? Kinda exciting to say that!!! I want this engine to have a long life and not give up on me in flight. So, we tear into it to make sure things on the inside are in top shape. Specifically the Cam.
