Dystopia (QTM Remake) Soybean_56 2026-01-25 | Long time no speak everyone, today I have a short song but a wall of text so I hope you enjoy.First, I want say that I did not plan to end my music break, but I was inspired in a very strange way. I watched a video the other day by Charles Cornell. He makes great music related videos, however his latest video was quite sad, but not a surprise. I'll link it here so you can watch it for yourself, but the gist is that AI, by no shock to anyone is ruining many facets of our lives, and music is no exception. If AI can make "Objectively" good art and there is no human intervention, it is death of creativity as we know it. This is a theory, but it could be possible that in the future youtubers could be replaced by "perfect" AI that is much more approachable to each user. It would be AI generated and curated content for each individual who uses the platform. Old people for example are tricked by AI almost constantly, and the misinformation it causes is tenfold. Charles seems to be more cautiously optimistic than me, but what he said stuck with me. "What even is the point of trying..." and that's when I got this idea...As much as it's cringe to say my music has "soul," it can not be anymore true. Any insecurities I've had over the years are MINE and my own. My shit isn't perfect but its not fake. Not part of a stupid "trend" that most everyday people seem to not give a shit about, and just accepts the AI world that is here. I took this opportunity to take a look at one of my old songs yet again, Queue the Madness. Out of all of the music I've made over the years, this one deserves the most attention. At the time, this song was very underdeveloped as I was sick and bored. Despite it's underbaked nature, it was showing improvement from songs I made before then. I wanted to keep the Intensity of the original, but not so monotonous. "Dystopia" is a remake of QTM but its also really its own song, built on the familiar backbone.Though it is not all doom and gloom. It is good to make music again. I may not do it very often but this is the best I've felt in a long time... in more ways than one. I have struggled to make ANYTHING for many months now. This song here was finished with luck, not skill lol. I don't know how I managed to do it, but here we are after much trial and error. I created this song over a year ago and I could never figure out how to finish it. I would visit it time after time, and it always frustrated the hell out of me. Kingslayer Soybean_56 2024-12-29 | Let's take a moment to reflect shall we?As 2024 draws to a close, I have taken some time to reflect on the past, future, and present. This year began with me not being able to walk, recovering from surgery. Recovery took months, and it took every ounce of patience from me to keep my head high in something I've never experienced. Thankfully I've been back to normal for quite some time now and only ever deal with pain on some occasions, and it will probably be that way for the rest of my life.This year I left my job of 6 years. It was my first job out of high school. I spent years devoting myself to a company that I truly believed was different. As I got older, I realized how naïve I was. I was so emotionally invested in my work environment that it took years for me to quit. The hardest part was leaving my friends behind, but I finally found something that is good for me. I work harder than I ever did, but at least I'm treated with the respect that I deserve.I am not here to just complain and tell you my hardships. I am no the only one who deals with the trials of life, and all things considered, I'm pretty lucky thus far. I just want you to know that I make this music not just for myself, but for all of you, and I write these long winded descriptions to maybe give you comfort, or maybe a laugh, depends how I feel. I'm so thankful for the friends I've made, online and in the real world. The journey of my creative self has been a wild one, and I've learned so much. 2025 is my 10 year anniversary of making music, and I have a plan to celebrate. My dream of becoming a good musician has taken longer that I expected lol, but I feel liberated knowing that I am finally getting somewhere. I've said countless times that Legacy+ helped me in ways that I'm not sure I can articulate, I just hope this is just the beginning of a path so many want me to follow. The project "falling apart" obviously hit me hard, but I'm glad that its finished, and I look forward to doing more with it. God willing. A true artist never stops learning, or improving. Endgame Soybean_56 2024-11-28 | For those of you who know, you know...So here we are, all caught up with my escapades. This is my latest work. (Technically "Flight School" is my latest work, but the project for that song was made way earlier than this.) I don't say this lightly, but I believe this to be my magnum opus, my best work. I made this song for few reasons, but a "boss" theme was in my mindset in the process of making this.I was inspired by so many different boss themes from many games and I'm real happy how this came out. It's energetic, groovy, intense, It's everything I've wanted to make in a boss theme and more. I finished this song just before Halloween, and it really has that campy spooky vibe... I'm just so damn happy with it. Moving forward, I need to focus on my piano playing, I've grown rusty in the past several months. Its summer time ladies and gentlemen, and its come with a bang. A high of 93 Degrees F where I live. Working days have been miserable. I'm overall struggling to do absolutely anything. I have been out trying to ride my bike once more, as its been a very long time since I've done so. Eclipsed Soybean_56 2024-04-11 | Now I know what you're gonna say. I wrote a song about the eclipse. That wasn't my intention... it just worked out lol2024 has been one hell of a struggle for me, mentally and physically. The line of being blessed and feeling cursed feels so blurred these days. It makes conveying my emotions very difficult, especially through music.I have been feeling exhausted these past few weeks as I return to an almost normal lifestyle. The thoughts cross my mind of wishing things were different. Wishing I never got hurt, hoping I can feel normal again soon. However at the same time, I know things could be worse and I'm lucky in many ways.I was fortunate enough to witness the recent solar eclipse in totality just the other day. The feeling of seeing it for the first time, and perhaps only time, was absolutely breath taking. I went from skeptical, to completely humbled in seconds. A style of music I've wrestled with here for the better part of a year. However, I'm long past the stage of trying to fit into specific categories. Inspired by a lot of old and new country music. Making this was stressful, but I'm so proud of it. After 10 years of using and learning GarageBand, its time for me to let it go. I've used this program to make music for such a long time. I was 13 when I first discovered it, introduced to me by middle school music teacher. However, in the past few months I've struggled relentlessly to make music. Making music for me is no longer how it was. Gone are the days of writing a decent tune weekly. As I've improved, the songs get longer, and/or more complex. GarageBand can't handle this apparently as it is more glitchy and unusable as I progress.I wrote this song knowing it would be my last with this program, and knowing I must move onto something else, as my creative reach with GarageBand is very limited.This will be my last song of this year, and possibly for a good long while. Time for a break, and to prepare to learn something different. Queue The Madness, Home, and Ruins. These songs all have one thing in common, and that is they are of the "EDM/Trance" genre. at least to me they are.Contrary to popular belief, this style of music is not "Lazy." To the untrained ear it seems simple, but its more than that. I'll be honest I had a real hard time making this song. There is a vibe to this type of music that is not easy to learn.I wanted something that had the energy of QTM, the hypnotic repetitive flow of Home, and the harmonic structure of Ruins. Did I pull it off? I'll let you be the judge. For those of you who have watched my new humble series "Alone in Infdev+" first of all, thank you, and second, this song will sound slightly familiar. When I wrote that intro theme for the series, I had no real intent for the song to go anywhere, it was just meant to be a fun.I wanted to incorporate that intro tune into something more, make it a finished product. The Cobble Man - 8 Bit Remix | (CC-BY) Soybean_56 2023-09-10 | I normally hate doing this...I really try my best to not go back to my older songs and tinker with them, I just want to leave them be. However, this is a special case. I have recently been getting new instruments and sounds to play around with, and a genre I have been asked to learn is 8-Bit/Chiptune style music.So I have decided to go back to one of my favorite tunes I made way back in October, The Cobble Man. This may not be the most faithful rendition of 8-bit or Chiptune style music, but its a good start.It was fun to go back and do this experiment on this old tune. I have heard it many times, but I still love it. Looking back on the past year of my musical journey has been a wild ride. I had no direction with Summer Morning Album, every song was random, including the title track. It was a bit rushed, but it ultimately became the outro for my videos. I was just experimenting and pouring my heart into the music and seeing what would happen.A year later I cringe a little at some of the music, but if I didn't, then I wouldn't be doing this right lol.The Summer Morning song means a lot to me.
