This was done as a partial "update" to my previous Doom cover albums Doom Remakes... Remade! and Doom II Remakes.If you're unaware of the original projects, they are my takes on the Doom soundtrack, done in a very conservative fashion in the sense that I retain the original structure of the songs (for the most part) and try to stay faithful to how the original songs are constructed.The album includes a selection of songs from both albums (plus two outtakes from the unfinished Final Doom Remakes project and a couple bonus tracks) in a heavily remixed/remastered fashion. I approached the production of these songs very differently for this. Instead of looking for a natural sound, I went with a more in-your-face production, with a bombastic drum sound and a more aggressive guitar tone, but underneath they're still the same master tracks, just mixed and processed differently. I did this mainly because I felt the more metal-focused stuff sounded a bit weak, while the quieter stuff sounded pretty good already so I don't think they need any sort of remixing.I sincerely hope you enjoy this, this took a bit of time to get right. What happens when you try a 60 FPS code for Mario Kart 64 on a console CoTeCiOtm 2023-07-29 | Additional material for the previous video I uploaded. Contains the entirety of the Special Cup of the game completed in 150 cc with the 60 FPS code turned on, which causes the game to mostly just slow down to a crawling speed, hence why on the previous video I only showed Rainbow Road. I figured people might be curious to see this, so here it is!
Mario Kart 64 running at 60 FPS on real hardware CoTeCiOtm 2023-07-22 | Okay, to give some compensation for the cruddy last bit of the video I uploaded yesterday (the one of what would Mario Kart 64 look like running at 60 FPS), I actually found GameShark codes that allow the game to run at higher framerates.Now, these codes were clearly made to be used on an emulator, not on a console, and as such, it just doesn't work very well at all. I don't know what the codes do, but I assume it changes the logic speed of some parts of the game (other bits remain too fast, like the menus and the Chomps on Rainbow Road) and another code to unlock the framerate. I am assuming there's something messing up the blanking intervals or something since when the framerate goes too high, you get black bars covering the screen.I mentioned on the previous video that emulators don't really do cycle-accurate emulation of the console, and they're noticeably faster than the real deal. Most of the time it's not really noticeable and it can break games a little bit here and there, but in this case, it's very desirable to have that extra power, since unfortunately, using this code, the game slows down when the framerate goes down, and the console can't keep up most of the time. I found out the best track for this is Rainbow Road. Luigi Raceway and Banshee Boardwalk almost work fine, but they start lagging at one point, all the rest are pretty much slow motion the whole way through. Still, it's pretty sweet to see this game running so smoothly on the real deal!
What would Mario Kart 64 look like at 60 FPS CoTeCiOtm 2023-07-21 | Alright, another installment in the 60 FPS series! This time I took Mario Kart 64 and gave that a shot. This is the entirety of the game done in 150cc. Super Mario 64 worked pretty well, so Mario Kart 64 is going to work equally well... right? Well, not quite.This time, the process is a combination of the newer setup using BizHawk, and capturing the console. This was done mainly because Nintendo 64 emulation doesn't really do the slowdowns the real hardware does, which means some tracks, particularly on the Special Cup, play faster than they should on emulators and the credits play so fast that the song doesn't end at the right time. For that reason I decided to capture the Special Cup and the credits from an actual console. In hindsight, I should have just stuck with the emulator footage since the artifacts are VERY visible on the console footage due to the uneven framerate.The processing was done the same way as the Spyro one, using Premiere Pro with the Optical Flow blending, then upscaling the end result so YouTube actually plays the footage at 60 FPS.

What would Spyro the Dragon look like at 60 FPS CoTeCiOtm 2023-06-25 | Four years ago I uploaded the second and last video of these series, which was Tomb Raider II. That video didn't work out very well and the effects aren't very noticeable, unfortunately, so I'm planning on redoing that eventually but from the PC version instead and see if that works better.I completely changed my workflow for this entry in the series. I just used emulation (Octoshock through BizHawk) to capture the footage for this instead of actual hardware due to the noticeable reduction in video quality from converting the footage into digital and stuff (reference to the Super Mario 64 video to get what I mean), and instead of using SVP, I just threw the footage on Premiere Pro and messed around with Optical Flow. It works as well, and it's a lot simpler to set up.So yeah, before you ask, no, I didn't get to play this game at 60 FPS, this is just post-processed footage. And yeah, I completely forgot about the flight level, but I'm not very good at Spyro and capturing decent footage took me a while, so I'll just roll with it. The closest you can get to this game at 60 FPS is the Reignited remake, which is pretty good, actually.

This, unlike the other TR2013 streams, was quite more active, and I got to finish the game, finally. I tried to jump straight into Rise of the Tomb Raider for the technical difficulties said no. I spent the rest of the stream tweaking graphics settings trying to find a sweet spot between the game not looking like absolute garbage and running smoothly on the stream. This was completely improvised, with Deb and me just making things up as we went along, and then we sent the raw footage to Spence for him to improvise his own lines on top of the blank spaces we left in the footage. This was a special Saturday stream in which we just enjoyed ourselves playing some StarCraft games against the PC. This stream had a special feature that let people change the screen that would show on the stream, my brother's or mine. My brother's PC didn't look as good though since it was captured through S-video instead of VGA, but still, it's a pretty neat system that I intend to improve in the future as it was quite improvised. We got our ass kicked quite a bit, we kicked ass quite a bit, we watched ToastiiBear drink a gross smoothie, we opened a box with a merch item my brother brought from my store, the game collapsed on us and it was a great time!Watch my streams at twitch.tv/cotecio
