Scrappy Sisters 2023-06-22 | I knew as soon as I saw the rainbow paper that it was just crying out for some hand stitched embroidery, so that’s exactly what I did! Yes it took a little while going over the drawn on marking with running stitch, backstitch, satin stitch, cross stitch, French knots and so much more, but I just couldn’t help myself. I then embellished my Mother’s Day photos with some simple tone on tone embellishments and this beautiful layout was complete.

Scrappy Sisters 2023-06-16 | Who doesn’t love a kit filled with Cocoa Vanilla Studio? I know I do and this Happy Days collection is no exception. I wanted to use a few of the different patterned papers and I have seen this “pie” style layout done many times by many fabulous scrapbookers and decided to give it a go myself. Although it isn’t scraplifted from any one layout, this design is definitely not original to me. I loved creating floral clusters, hand stitching and even including hidden journaling to create this piece.

Scrappy Sisters 2023-06-08 | Steph set me the challenge to use origami butterflies on a layout and I love how it turned out! I’m not sure if it was an accident that I got two pieces of this wreath paper in my kit, but I took it as a sign using Side B to create my butterflies so the colours would match perfectly with the beautiful tropical wreath on Side A and I’m so glad I did!

I backed each of the photos with different patterns from the cutapart sheet and nearly all of my ephemera is from the cutapart sheet also. I think tied in the grey strips by hand stitching in grey around the edge of the pink paper.

I used one of the fussy cut pieces as my main element, added some large ephemera from the kit as the base and then layered it up with some die cut leaves and twine. Finishing it with the two cute little flowers included in the kit.

Scrappy Sisters 2023-03-16 | What do you do when you have a layout that you know you will never have ephemera to match? For me I go straight to my silhouette. For this very topic specific layout I used the fabulous 49 and Market Yellow paper to cut a poppet head, golden nugget and miners helmet. I also cut out little helmets and torchlights for the snails.
