DANMAKUMAN
Battle Garegga (ARC) - Underwater Rampart
updated
This is the sequel of the hentai OVA series Superdimension SF Legend Rall. Instead of anime they did a VN instead.
I really liked the character designs and the music so when that happen most of the time I draw something about it, in fact this is the second drawing based on it that I made.
The music it's from the game. Great stuff by Ryu Umemoto.
Anyway, hope you like it!

Final score: 3,048,800
This is a new personal record. And despite I missed some enemies here and there, I just can't think on many ways to get a more substantial score, need to play even more to find out. Still happy with the result :)
Stages:
0:18 Stage 1 - Slash
3:41 Stage 2 - Asteroid
7:59 Stage 3 - Mine
11:54 Stage 4 - Base
15:15 Stage 5 - Crown
19:06 Stage 6 - Dark City
23:27 Stage 7 - Crown Core

Not my best run (You'll see on the ranking at the end) but still good enough to record, at least for me lol
Very Hard mode really amps the difficulty, more bullets on screen, faster, more enemies, bosses and enemies have more HP, etc. And there are sections where it's impossible to dodge unless you have the shield to absorb most bullets.
I stupidly died a few times at the last boss. I didn't wanted a bomb fest but I had too, some attacks are way too fast to avoid, but in the process my score wasn't the best. Sadly no bonus points for beating it in Very Hard :(
Stages route:
0:27 Stage 1 B
2:27 Stage 2 A
4:02 Stage 3 A
6:37 Stage 4 B
9:42 Stage 5 A
13:26 Stage 6 A

After a month of practice I finally beat both loops without dying. It was pretty hard because of course the second loop is, well, harder lol Most strategies work on both loops but there are some differences, specially if you are fully powered up.

Blazing Chrome is an excellent run 'n gun at the pure style of classics like Contra or Metal Slug and even when its formula is most that proved, the amounts of action and excellent presentation will captivate you.

Hard mode is a little more frustrating because the enemies block most of your attacks, so your best friend here is the grab and you'll see a lot of that here. Also the Dash Cancel is really useful to move faster and get closer to some enemies with much more defense than just doing the regular dash slash move. To perform this, you need to do a dash attack (F F + A or B) and then use the block (A+B), that'll cancel the dash and you can perform another one or attack. You can exploit the dash cancel to do much more complex combos, it's hard to do but practice is the key.
Also wanted to show some strategies against some enemies, specially those robots that always punches you and drop a bomb when they jump and the ones right before the Stage 5 boss (Kamui).

I compiled some of my favourite songs by Matt and while this isn't like a definitive compilation my intention was to show the range of compositions he did, from super cheerful melodies to some dark and more serious tunes, also complex stuff and nice stereo separation. His music is specially funky as hell ;D
I hope you enjoy the video :)

Damn good doujin Shmup for the PC-9801, it has everything you want in a game of the genre; Great visuals, tight gameplay and catchy tunes.
A must-play.
Overtake has one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard from the Sharp X68000, every song is amazing, but this one is my favourite.
The MMX Sega Genesis covers were made by these two amazing guys ;D Go check them out, lots of great music!

My console (Model 1 VA6) has an overclock mod that increases the speed of the processor from 7.61MHz to 10MHz. I use this to get rid most of the slowdown in the MD version, there's still some but only in very specific parts, you'll notice.
Only chiptunes so the PS2 and PC Engine arrangements aren't present.

This is a longplay with tons of deaths with the final boss lol but overall wasn't that bad.
I haven't found all the secret rooms and items in the game so if you know some that aren't shown in the video please leave a comment because I really wanna complete this game at 100% if possible.
Recorded from real hardware, sorry for the quality, I don't own upscallers and stuff like that. Hope I can get one soon.

Gate Of Thunder is in my opinion one of the best horizontal shooters ever made. Some ex-members from Technosoft of Thunder Force fame (Specifically the guys who made TF2 and 3) worked on this title and it shows with its fast paced gameplay and tight controls.
Visuals are amazing with tons of nice parallax scrolling (on a machine that technically can't do any), lots of sprites, some are really big and the music is just as badass as the graphics and gameplay.
This is a No Miss run on the highest difficulty; Devil Mode. Sorry for the quality.
