If your engine sounds like shaking a coffee can full of bolts and /or is losing power, you're probably overdue. Here's how I do it. It's not the only way, but it's simple and foolproof if you follow all steps. As a fool, I should know. BTW, since I assume this video is for newbies, I decided to keep things simple and adjust the valves in firing sequence order. If you're feeling randy, after you're done with #1, you can rotate the engine backwards 180 degrees do #2 while you're still on the left side of the engine. Here's also a link to Krusty's (rocking) method, which saves a few engine revolutions, but requires more attention. Porsche 914 How to Rebuild the D-Jet Aux Air Regulator Ian Karr 2021-10-01 | Is your warm idle high? Auxiliary air valve kaput? Rebuilding it isn't difficult. Here's how I did mine. The AAR allows more air into the plenum when the engine is cold and, if working properly, closes off that extra air when the engine is warm. Many are stuck open and don't work anymore. Fixing them is pretty simple. This unit is used on D-Jet engines, but the principle is the same for the one used with L-Jet.
