Hard Rock Hotel - August 2012 Phil J Hill 2012-08-31 | Overnight stay. Good points: Family friendly, IT ROCKS (proper Metal and Rock n Roll memorabilia) ! Right next to theme parks, "Fast-Passes" and early access to rides inc. to "Wizarding world", Rooms lovely, grounds lovely. Good water Taxi service and walk-able if Taxi not running, Concierge helpful, State of the art gym. Bad points: SOME staff seemed burned out, stressed/over worked. Queuing 10-20 mins each time wanting to get to Reception, cold environment, very noisy gym (unable to hear own i-phone music), i-phone didn't work on machines, unable to get in at night (have to wait for passing porters), Pool area over-rated (very shallow and rough bottom). Overall rating: 8/10 (worth stay for memorabilia and fast passes).

Villa BalMar, Balcon Al Mar, Javea, Spain. Phil J Hill 2011-10-14 | In and around our Holiday Villa, Costa Blanca. October 2011. We went to this area 9 yrs ago and would rate that villa there 6/10 back then (you can see our "Old" villa in the Vid from the Passenger seat of the Car). However, I would rate this Villa 9/10. An excellent location with a gorgeous view. I was most impressed by all the equipment and kitchen utensils, cutlery available. Literally everything you need and not just the bare minimum. Even Tupperware for Picnics on the beach. They lost 1/2 point for the pool not being heated (at this time of year the Sun isnt on it very much) - but hey thats what kids "shorty" wet suits are for and 1/4 point for the floor being a bit dangerous and slippy when wet (just keep eye on kids a lot) and 1/4 Point for the broken window that needed to be fixed on the last day (Didnt bother us at all but some people might not like that it wasnt fixed sooner). Ben 10: Ultimate Alien Truck Tour - Cardiff, South Wales Phil J Hill 2011-01-31 | Jan 29th 2011 (rearranged because of the Snow in Dec). It was still so cold that my JVC HD Everio and Kodak both stopped working after an hour despite a full charge. Had to rely on trusty i-phone instead so apologies about Vid-Quality. The kids were so well behaved despite the cold. We were lucky - we got there at 1345hrs (work!!!) and they closed the queue at 1400hrs. Many disappointed and upset late-comers.
