If you've heard about Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, or other GLP-1 medications, you've probably heard a lot of opinions. But before you can understand why these medications work, you first need to understand something most people don't realize: they were designed to mimic a hormone your body already makes naturally.
In this video, I'll break down:
✅ What GLP-1 actually is ✅ What GLP-1 medications are ✅ How they work inside your body ✅ Why they affect hunger and fullness ✅ How they lead to weight loss ✅ The key difference between natural GLP-1 and GLP-1 medications
There's one critical detail about how long natural GLP-1 lasts in the body that explains almost everything—and it's the piece most people never hear. Once you understand that, the entire weight-loss conversation starts to make a lot more sense.
My goal isn't to tell you what to take or what decision to make. My goal is to help you understand the biology behind GLP-1 medications so you can make informed decisions about your health.
If you're curious about Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, semaglutide, tirzepatide, or GLP-1 medications in general, this video will give you a clear, science-based explanation without the confusion.

A couple of years ago… after my first baby… life got busy in a way I wasn’t prepared for.
I gained about 40 pounds over time. My husband gained weight too. And it didn’t happen all at once… it was slow. Almost unnoticeable. Until one day—it wasn’t.
I stopped feeling like myself. My energy dropped. My sleep was off. And I ended up at my highest weight—214 pounds.
On top of that… I was diagnosed with high cholesterol.
And that was the moment things got real. Not because of how I looked… but because of how I felt inside my body.
So I made a change. And over time… I lost the weight. I rebuilt my habits. And I felt like I had my control back.
But then life moved forward again.
I had another baby in March. And just like before… my body changed.
This time, my weight went back up to around 212. I had a repeat C-section. And I’m now six weeks postpartum… just getting cleared to start focusing on myself again.
But here’s what’s different this time.
I’m not trying to rush anything. The One investment Im Making for My Weight Loss JourneyNurselavie2026-05-30 | I lost 40 pounds before pregnancy. Now I'm starting over. These habits help control hunger, stabilize energy, and support lasting weight loss results🔥The simplest intermittent Fasting protocol #fatlosstips #fatburningsecrets #weightlossNurselavie2026-05-22 | Intermittent fasting delivers powerful health transformations by triggering a metabolic switch that forces your body to burn stored fat rather than glucose for energy. This biological shift significantly accelerates fat loss while helping you preserve lean muscle mass and lowering your risk for type 2 diabetes by reversing insulin resistance. Beyond weight management, the prolonged absence of food activates autophagy, a crucial cellular cleansing process that clears out damaged proteins and reduces systemic inflammation linked to chronic diseases. Furthermore, this metabolic state supports cardiovascular health by lowering blood pressure and cholesterol, while simultaneously sharpening your mental clarity, boosting verbal memory, and simplifying your daily routine by eliminating constant meal preparation.
DISCLAIMER: While intermittent fasting offers compelling metabolic and cellular benefits, it is fundamentally a physiological stressor that is not safe or effective for everyone. ❇️Personally, I maintain my levels between 60–80 ng/mL because I have a history of clinical vitamin D deficiency. As a Black woman, I’m also at higher risk for low vitamin D compared to lighter-skinned individuals due to reduced synthesis from sun exposure.
