Stuff like '06 and SATBK had potential but Infinite and the Avatar's gameplay and everything about Sonic Forces is the MOST wasted potential I've ever seen from Sonic? I'm happy the prequel comic had bit more but come on, Infinite was so hyped up and he had such a good introduction and not to mention a good character design, what the hell happened, SEGA? It's so obvious we were supposed to fight him in Null Space but we never did. SEGA, DELAY YOUR GAMES AND MAKE THEM BETTER INSTEAD OF TRYING TO RUSH SHIT OUT FOR THE HOLIDAYS.The gameplay...okay, I'll be honest here, I LOVE what they were going for with the avatar, the first 2 times I finished the game, I enjoyed the avatar's gameplay because I was engrossed in stuff like the new gameplay elements, the customization - it's only when I had nothing new to experience did I realize how much damage SEGA did by rushing the game. The avatar's gameplay isn't bad but it isn't...super enjoyable either. About Classic Sonic, just go play Mania if you wanna play a game as him. Modern isn't bad nor good, could be better, I have the same complaints as everyone ab the level design. I give the game a 6.5/10, which seems to be the general rating from everyone. And while the story was a mess because obvious rushing and parts of the story were cut out so things didn't connect properly (so obvious as when you go to null space and Knuckles acts like you've been gone for hours yet it's been a second, it's missing an Infinite fight!) & now that we're back to the method of Japanese scripts being translated into English rather than the script being written directly by ken pontac (I've heard his other work is great, but he just sucks as a writer for Sonic, THE NEW WRITER WE HAVE ON BOARD IS THE SAME GUY WHO WROTE THE STORY FOR PHOENIX WRIGHT VS ACE ATTORNEY SO I HAVE HOPES. KEN PONTAC FUCKING SUCKS AS A SONIC WRITER THIS IS NOT HIS FORTE), we're back to the same problem as LOOK AT ALL THOSE EGGMAN'S ROBOTS (the Forces version is Silver saying Tails has "lost it" when in reality he meant Tails "is lost" lmao) but this is a LOT better than whatever the hell we had 2010-16. I hope Sonic's & Tails' personalities get more attention now. Knuckles seems better though, him leading the resistance was really cute & MADE ME HAPPY TO SEE MY RED BOYO BACK IN ACTION. I was disappointed by Tails' downgrade, but nonetheless it was a delight to hear new Ryo Hirohashi lines after so long. God I missed her (despite the fact that I listen to her all the time I JUST REALLY LOVE MY TAILS MOM OKAY). Ohtani did great even if some of the tracks did not fit the levels they were for - I was really happy to see Nana Hatori in Sonic! I felt the same way I did when Cash Cash did music for Colors for the first time and I was already a fan of them like, late 2008. It'd be amazing if more Utaite get involved with Sonic in the future! All in all Forces was both a very frustrating yet refreshing game for me. Now I can finally leave behind Sonic Lost World and the fact that Sonic used the phrase "めんどくさい " to describe Tails in that game forever and ever. Also hey Pontac, leave Sonic Team mayb-I mean what?I ship Infidget now. I want Gadget to be canonized? And I want more Infinite. THE ENDING WAS LACKLUSTER, I'M 100% SURE INFINITE WILL RETURN and I hope that he has more character development/better writing.
