DELTARUNE - Illusion of Gaia (SNES) References (Fanfare & Prison Moss)

VintyRobot 2025-07-24 | DELTARUNE has a ton of references & inspirations to classic games, including the lesser known SNES Action RPG: Illusion of Gaia!

Included here are the most unmistakable callbacks: specifically the "incredibly slow text crawl while a bombastic fanfare plays" and the prison scene from both games, including the terrible English translation for "even moss drinks water"!

Bonus Fact 1: The line from Illusion of Gaia's prison scene was supposed to say "Suck moss if you want water." (which makes way more sense in context) but the translation was botched!

VintyRobot 2025-07-08 | Someone asked me what the lyrics meant in the "A Life to Love" (Verso) Epilogue, but instead of just sending them an English version of those lyrics, I ended up making these subtitles instead—now overlaid on top of an emotional scene (and shared for everyone to boot!)

The translation has a few liberties here and there, and some words and phrasing can be somewhat interchangeable. Please note, I am no expert by any means; apologies in advance for any mistranslations!
