Dalesnale - Noise AmbientFluttering Noise Masking has an ever changing random filter applied to the sound that is reminiscent of a butterfly flapping slowly or random radio static modulation. This noise was created in 2018 and never released until now. It sounds similar to the Tinnitus Scrubber youtu.be/8indTo2ykPw and Tinnitus Chopper youtu.be/B7fnnTcD82A, but less edgy than these counterparts. Experimentation in noise to find sounds that are relaxing, calming and or capable of masking other sounds such as tinnitus are the mainstay of the channel. In 2018, it was unclear this video might have benefit for listeners. After stumbling across it in the archive and listening with fresh ears, it was clear this sound may be a good masker for some listeners. The original intro and background is included which was the channel's style at that time. Many listener's may recall this early look and feel the custom backgrounds had back then. This loudness equalization curve is used for low volume listening. Low volume listening is ideal when it comes to noise. A little bit of noise can take the edge off distraction sounds. There is no need to cover the original sound completely with high volume. Red Noise, also known as Brown Noise, or Brownian Noise is a low frequency version of noise with the high and midrange intensity steeply dropping off (6dB per octave). It is lovingly referred to as the spaceship noise used in sci-fi tv shows or in film as an ominous audio presence in tense or epic moments. Many listeners are comforted by the low rumbles of Red Noise and Gray Noise, but there is another group of noise listeners that prefer high frequency emphasized noise like Blue Noise, Violet Noise and the Tinnitus Noise Masking Series. What is your listening preference. I'd love to hear from you in the comments about your listening experience, whether you like it or not, or it is your new favorite, these comments help make better sounds for our listening community. The volume of this sound should be set below the sound level of the tinnitus in the listener's mind. This minds, often will tune into this newly introduced sound and become less focused on the tinnitus sound. Noise masking is only part of the tinnitus well being treatment, which also includes, health and wellness, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). These facets are best approached under the care of medical professionals such as an audiologist or ENT doctor. My professional specialty is audio production and sound creation. A four decade career in sound has created tinnitus for me, like many in this and other loud industrial professions. Remember, tinnitus is a symptom of other issues and some types are reduced to a degree when listening to noise. What works in certain cases will not in others. It is worth a try and is one of many masking noise frequencies I have designed for you on this channel. Here is a sampler of more frequencies: youtu.be/IaZk8NbzxXU
How does it work: Tinnitus is often a miswiring on the quarter million neuropathways between the ears and the mind. The listener hears a ringing, tone, noise or chirping type sounds because the mind plays back a sort of auto-complete which is a byproduct of it's efficiency to streamline incoming stimulus from the senses. Another example of the mind streamlining stimulus would be how peripheral vision or other things not in our direct line of sight are out of focus. It would be to much to look at all at once. Back to the sound, by introducing a new and slightly different sound that is relatively close to the frequency, the mind will notice nd focus on this new sound and let go of the tinnitus sound that is stuck in the mind to a certain degree (30% lower is typical, though some report much lower volume). To take it one step further, this lowering of the sound is often accompanied by positive feelings that tinnitus can be managed offering hope that the sound can be managed as we carry on with life. Tinnitus noise masking one of three aspects in contemporary treatment. The other two are health and wellness and the third is cognitive behavioral techniques. As a career audio engineer and person with tinnitus, I contribute noise to this tinnitus cause as it is my field of expertise. I don't have the medical answers. The other two aspects should be assessed and treated with the expertise of a medical professional; and audiologist or ENT doctor. Dr Ben Thompson from Treble Health is a audiologist with a YouTube channel and practice that is a great place to learn more.
The creation process: I create these sounds from scratch at my recording studio using a digital audio workstation to make the sounds and also record sounds in the field. The backgrounds are also my creations as visuals to add interest and these dim at 90 minutes on most videos. I also come up with these crafty names so we can remember the frequencies and videos in a fun manner and reference them in the comments. I am noticing more channels using my titling, like the Tinnitus Zapper, the Tinnitus Zinger and many others. Consider whether these creators are truly invested with the same passion I have for helping the tinnitus world or just riding coat tails for views. You will always find sonic innovation, ingenuity, experimentation and a lot of community engagement from me in the comments. Thank you for listening, Dale

#bilateralnoise #noiseambient #dalesnaleTinnitus Drifter 12.5 kHz to 13.5 kHz Noise Masking to Float AwayDalesnale - Noise Ambient2023-09-26 | The Tinnitus Drifter is part of the noise masking series focused between 12.5 kHz and 13.5 kHz shifting between these frequencies once a minute. Many listeners have found the 13 kHz range useful for masking with the Tinnitus Zapper: youtu.be/XQJqDLDRXl0 The concept is that a noise near a listener's tinnitus ringing frequency will give the mind another sound to think about and pull thoughts away from the internal tinnitus sound. It has worked for some listeners, however, it will not work for all types of tinnitus. A close match, within 5% to 10% of the mind's tinnitus frequency is needed. By shifting this boosted noise between 12.5 kHz and 13.5 kHz, it may cover a broader range for more listeners. The noise should be listened to 30% quieter than the tinnitus ringing. This is known ans the mixing point.
These noises are created as my attempt as an audio engineer to help listeners with their tinnitus. It is a complicated subject. I do not have all the answers, but I am doing my part with my skills and as a tinnitus sufferer as well. It is a good idea to seek consultation with an audiologist or ENT doctor to have your case assessed.
The audio is all original created at my recording studio using ProTools audio editing and Magic Vegas video editing. Each sound creation is made from scratch for a unique listening experience every time

Mauve became a popular color as the first synthetic dye in the mid 1800's and has remained fashionable since. The 1890's were sometimes referred to the Mauve Decade. This pale purple blue gets its name from the mallow flower. Seems like this color is everywhere in fabrics, interior walls and in digital form.

It is part of the Tinnitus Noise Masking Series I have created on the channel with the intention of listeners being able to select a frequencies close to their own ringing or tinnitus sound that might help distract the mind away from that sound and lower the ringing. This works for some types of tinnitus, but not all. Listen's who do find some lowering of their tinnitus generally listen for 30-50 minutes per day. This audio track is much longer for those that like an ongoing or overnight listen. Noise masking played back at low volume could potentially offer a degree of temporary relief. Some medical researchers believe the ringing may be reduced by one third. Seeking out an audiologist for hearing affliction is a good idea. Let me know your experience with the sound or suggestions or requests. Thanks for listening, Dale

The Creation Process: I started out with a fresh version of Orange Noise made by overlapping a few layers of noise colors to reach this blended sound (See original release for that explanation: youtu.be/CS-oBBGxJv4). Designed to relieve tinnitus ringing for some listeners (not all) with frequencies between 10,ooo Hz and 20,000 Hz. Remeber, noise masking only works for cretain types of "T" and when it is close in frequency (not in sound type) to the listener's frequency which may help to distract the mind away from the initial sound. It is ultra high pitch, above Violet Noise, Very High Frequency Noise and the 18 kHz Tinnitus Reliever which was the previous highest masker. This creation covers the highest of frequencies people can potentially hear, but many people do not hear this high range (and that is normal). Listen at low volumes. #sweepingnoise #tinnitus #noiseambient #dalesnale #tenhournoiseGreen Noise | Sleep Well to Earths Average SoundDalesnale - Noise Ambient2023-06-20 | Green Noise version 3 is here to relax and sleep well, to focus, to meditate, or for noise making with a blend of natural noises from around Planet Earth. Wind, rain, fire, waterfalls, ocean surf, snowstorms, distant lightning, volcanoes and more sounds from my archive are blended together in the recording studio to make a smooth and constant natural noise that is reminiscent of Pink Noise, White Noise or Brown Noise.
The Creation Process: Now with imagery from across the world to elevate mood as a background listen and view. These images change over time while the sound remains constant. The sounds were mixed at the recording studio to a blend that suited my sonic taste: Just the right amount of crackle from fires, wind howling and epic low frequency bass from volcanoes, water falls and beach surf.
May you find this version the best yet. With so much noise on Earth, I look forward to collecting more noise and doing it once again. Thanks for listening, Dale

NASA Saturn V footage from the Apollo space race era of the '60's and '70s is combined with a custom noise blend that imaginatively captures the sound of liftoff. Astronaut to mission control communications are sprinkled in to add to the dreamy vibe. I was a little kid when the Moon launches took place, and I hope to capture an Artemis launch if you listeners are interested (leave a comment). The Creation Process: Several layers of noise similar to Pink Noise, Orange Noise and Brown noise are filtered with equalization, sweeps and more custom effects in the recording studio. Radio communications are blended in at a low level to add to the feel, but not be overly distracting. The timeline of communications is stretched out for artistic purposes. Lastly, these elements are mixed together and mastered in the recording studio. The original NASA footage from several Apollo missions is blended for a compelling visual experience. The blended noises have a rounded mix of lows and highs the I hope will provide a restful listen, help you fall asleep, be good for meditation, and be a nice noise masker for other sounds in your environment as well as for those with tinnitus.
The Creation Process I first made Orange Noise youtu.be/CS-oBBGxJv4 in 2021 in my DAW ProTools machine (aka The Noise Machine). This version was tweaked a bit further. It was then blended with Purple Noise youtu.be/2jb7XjtXudg created in 2022. These sounds were blended to until a mix sounded sweet to my ears.
#dalesnale #noiseambient #orangenoise #purplenoiseTinnitus Dropper Downward Shifting Noise MaskingDalesnale - Noise Ambient2023-06-06 | Tinnitus Dropper is a continuously downward shifting noise masking sound. It is loosely based on the Roger Shepard tone, to which a tone goes continually upward as an illusion by hiding where the new high pitched sound enters and old low pitch sound disappears. Our minds can be tricked into thinking it goes down forever, until a careful listen reveals those points. A new sound is introduced every 10 seconds and the frequency sweep is 30 seconds long. The illusion of downward can feel relaxing and grounding, although we never land :). Consequently an upward sound can feel uplifting, like the Tinnitus Lifter: youtu.be/_K6pxZ7UzH8 released in 2022. Because the shifting noise passes through most listeners tinnitus ringing, this sound may help train the mind away from hearing ringing in the mind by the introduction of the new noise. The Tinnitus Descender also follows this concept, however is more focused and higher frequencies and is much less pronounced of an effect. Many comments from that video inspired me to make a new release with a strongly pronounced effect.

It's noisier than your AC or fan back home, but it certainly masks the sound of disturbing neighbors next door doing who knows what. Maybe that is why people don't complain often to the front desk about these classic units found in most hotels and motels.
The sound: There is a noise component from the fan moving air, and also a pronounced 60 Hz tone with upper harmonics like 120 Hz, 240 Hz, 600 Hz, and 1200 Hz based on the motor spinning at 1200 Hz and phase locked to the 60 cycle frequency. It's a familiar sound in North America, while other continents use a slightly lower 50 Hz frequency such as this Australian Air Conditioner in a caravan (aka trailer) I recorded a few years back. youtu.be/udjU-ipdDuo
The creation process: I spent 48 hours with this air conditioner while on a music tour and was compelled to record it while getting a good night's sleep. The footage was brought back to the recording studio to sweeten it up and create the video background, which dims at 90 minutes. Thanks for listening, Dale
#noiseambient #dalesnale #airconditionernoiseSilver Noise Shines in the World of Ambient SoundDalesnale - Noise Ambient2023-05-23 | The noise color ambient sound series continues with another all original creation, Silver Noise. The color silver is closest to Grey Noise, released in 2012 youtu.be/0iGdLDeyeso. A dash of white noise and a reflective component to make it shine. The color silver is pulled up on a light spectrograph scale, then the human listening spectrum (20 Hz to 20 kHz) is superimposed over the top. Filters are applied to make the frequency response a close visual comparison. A classic 1970's style plate reverb was added to add the reflective component, because reverb is reflection after all. These plate reverbs were the greatest studios of the era and weighed tons because they were a metal plate with suspended with springs inside a large box with contact transducers to send then pickup the sound from the plate. Thankfully, in the 2000's, digital replications of these reverbs were modeled which are used to this day by most engineers and studios. I hope you enjoy Silver Noise, Thanks for listening

I created the first version in 2021 for the Noise Ambient channel. I read your comments and a lot of you wanted no talking in the intro and a louder overall volume. Let me just say, the introduction provides the creation context for the viewer; the thought process, method, the artistry and the love that goes into the creation of these noise ambient listening experiences. Here is the new and improved, slightly tweaked version for you all. The creation process: Remix, remaster, new audio clip: Many requested a louder version and it is a fine line between too loud and to low in volume. You see, if I make the output volume too loud, the decoding in YouTube will automatically lower the level. If I make it too low, YT will increase the level. Neither is ideal from my standpoint as an audio engineer. In fact, there are loudness standards in place using a measurement called (can you guess) "Loudness Units - LU". The issue is loudness, when it comes to noise, compared to voice and music, is trickier to get right. Furthermore, many listener's phones, tablets, and low quality headphones will not faithfully reproduce the low frequency bass energy in the creation. A phone will not simply have better bass by turning up the volume. Speakers and great headphones will provide the best listening experience. And, I try to make the sound on small speakers and tiny headphones as good as it can be. Careful equalization (EQ) and limiting has been applied to this remix/remaster. So you can turn it up, but alas, if it is too loud on a phone of tablet, some mild crackling may be noticed pushing the tiny speakers to the brink. No Voiceover: You wanted no voice in the intro, and I removed it, falling back on text in video for the explanation. As a creator, I am constantly experimenting with techniques to connect you viewers to my work. Voiceovers have done this well, despite few creators doing this in the niche. I have backed off on this approach only doing it on 20% of the videos currently created. This is a listening experience after all, and my methods continue to evolve to interject a dash of knowledge, authenticity, humor into the explanations. This is a video platform, so dark screen only takes us half way. I also talk as a guarantee of the creation originality rather than a knockoff. Often, completely original ideas are cloned by other "creators". It is flattering I suppose and makes me dive deeper into original heartfelt content for you all. So to you viewers, I encourage you to click on my versions when doing a search. And to the copycats, I might be putting digital audio watermarks in the videos :) . So, just to make your versions from scratch like I do and enjoy the many hours of work that go into an original creation process. Thanks for listening, Dale
