How To Use 4WD Recovery Boards With TRED TRED Outdoors 2020-07-01 | TRED Australia and Worldwide https://www.tred4x4.com.auTRED USA tred4x4.comWhile exploring there are many challenges you might experience along the way, like getting your vehicle bogged. It’s frustrating, especially if no-one’s around to help. In this video I’m going to show you a few tips and tricks to help you get your vehicle out and back on it’s way using TRED recovery boards. Let’s get started. Once you lose traction and momentum in your vehicle, stop. Try not to keep accelerating as this will only make things worse and dig your tyres in further. You want to grab out your TRED Boards and use the designated shovel end to remove some of the debris from in front of all the wheels. The entry ramp is concave, designed to hug the tyre, but it’s important to wedge it as far as possible to get that initial bite. Make sure the vehicle is in 4WD and carefully drive the vehicle out. It is extremely import not to spin the wheel on a recovery board as this will damage the boards, your tyres and not help the recovery. If the first time doesn’t work, stop. Go back and shovel some more debris from under the tyres. Ensure your vehicle is not resting on the axles, differential, control arms or underbody. TRED’s requires the weight of the vehicle to provide the most effective traction. It is also a good idea to check your tyre pressure too. Lowering them will give you more grip and a larger foot print to help make the recovery easier. We always recommend anytime you venture off road at the very beginning to set the tyre pressures according to the terrain you are about to drive, however in recoveries, lowering them more can really help. It is just important to ensure you have the ability to reset the tyre pressure after the recovery to ensure safety while driving. If you are using only a pair of recovery boards on a non-locking differential in your 4WD vehicle it is advised to place them under the wheel that is spinning front and rear of the vehicle. A differentiation will transfer the load to the path of least resistance and that is where you need to set the boards. Depending on the situation you can also just place the boards at both rear tyres and shovel some extra debris from the front wheels clearing a path. If you have a differential lock you can use the TRED on the wheels attached to the axle where the differential lock is and engage the differential lock for your recovery. Or using a set four boards can make every recovery that much easier. Once you’re recovered, simply return to collect your TRED boards and this is where the included leash is a real help as they make retrieving the boards much easier.We hope this video has helped, and allows you to get out there and explore with confidence.#tred4x4#tredgt#tredhd
