With the drainage system in place, we were also able to pour the concrete floor — which means this little building is now ready for the next stage of its transformation.But life on the farm never stops! We built a new feeder for our goats, harvested tomatoes, peppers and beans from the garden, and even threshed our dried beans the traditional way. 🌱🐐Little by little, project by project, this abandoned farm is becoming the place we dreamed it could be. We cleared the space and started working on some of its most important infrastructure, completing the water connections and continuing the development of our off-grid systems. Step by step, this empty building is getting closer to becoming a functional part of our farm.Elsewhere on the farm, summer continues to reward our hard work. 🌱 We harvested fresh beans from the garden, built a pond for our ducks, and continued caring for the land and our animals. We started planting our very first fruit trees — tangerine🍊, orange trees 🍊, and olive trees 🌳 — marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the quinta. After these epic moments in the orchard, we returned to the renovation project and continued working on the roof, taking another big step toward the final exterior stages of this build. With nearly 10 hours of hard work, sweat, and determination 💪, we managed to fully cover the front and side façades with wood. Due to the weight, we were only able to transport one for now, bringing it back to the farm and unloading it to begin this week’s project.Before getting started, we took some time to walk around the property and check the progress while we were away. Then, we began working on cladding the walls of our shed using the stone we chose. After they left, my father and I spent time cleaning the area around the house and pruning our historic fig tree. This work not only helps prevent wildfires but also brings more natural light into the house and restores life to the fig tree. We also completed the bathroom plumbing, which was my first experience welding PPR pipes — a big learning moment for the renovation project. This video was full of hands-on work, progress, and small victories as we continue to care for and improve the farm. It’s rewarding to see the results of each step and share them with you. ✨

We started by completely clearing the space behind our shed, which was overgrown and very uneven. With a lot of hard manual work 💪 — and just a small help from a rotary tiller — we leveled the ground and prepared the soil for what’s coming next.After that, we built a raised bed along the edge using tree logs placed in a line 🌳, creating a natural and rustic border. Inside this bed, we planted a row of bay laurel trees that, as they grow, will form a living fence 🌱, hiding the edge and adding privacy and beauty to the space.In the ground-level bed, we planted some very special and meaningful plants ❤️, all taken from my mother’s garden — plants we rescued at the beginning of the video and that are now part of this new chapter of our farm.The rest of the area is now waiting to be seeded with grass 🌾.
