We are a small, independent garbage company operating in the rural areas of Pleasant Hill, Dexter, Creswell, and Cottage grove, Oregon. 1986 Dodge D350 Pakrat Sunrise Sanitation Service 2018-01-23 | The Sunrise Sanitation Service, 1986 Dodge D350 with a "Pakrat" packer box. This truck has served us well and continues to be a work horse in our garbage company. This is a short clip of us dumping a fairly packed load. We aren't actually suppose to film up at the dump site so it's not the best camera work.
1990 Toyota 4x4 walk around Sunrise Sanitation Service 2009-06-28 | This is my 1990 Toyota 4x4. My mom bought it used in 1997 with 150,000 miles and a very slight rod knock when it was cold. Well I bought it from her in 2001 with 19x,xxx miles( not too sure anymore) and until I got it I think it had 4 oil changes and had NOTHING done to the front and rear diffs or transmission or transfer case. I started changing the oil every 2,500 and I ran it almost every weekend up in the hills pretty hard. This truck has only left me stranded 2 times, once the alternator died and the other time the timing chain jumped 2 teeth at around 220,000 mile, the plastic guide had broken and allowed way too much slack in the chain. I was very lucky it happened right as I left from a stop and I very lightly limped it back to work and had no valve damage. One day, I hit a deer at 55 mph, lucky it was a glancing blow and only bent the bumper into the driver side tire and crumpled the fender a bit. Later that year, I was playing in some snow and slid into a tree, finishing off the driver fender and grazing the bed on the same tree as I pulled out. :) There are a few dents and dings here and there but ZERO rust. I describe most of what I have done to the truck in the video but heres a small list: Rebuilt engine - pistons were 0.020 over if I remember right Used transmission - came out of a truck with 115,000 miles New alternator New starter New radiator New battery New Clutch kit New flywheel New U-joints for the rear shaft New front CV x2 New front and rear brakes New front wheel bearings New Idler arm New upper and lower ball joints Rebuilt clutch master cylinder I'm sure there is more that I'm forgetting about but the idea is this truck should now last me another 250,000 miles minimum. Over all I now have a little over $3200 into the truck, including the cost to buy the truck. Please tell me what you think and remember to rate this video.
1980 GN400x walkaround Sunrise Sanitation Service 2009-06-12 | I describe most of it in the video. 1980 Suzuki gn400x with 7784 miles on it. The valves need adjusted and the magneto or whatever you wanna call it is missing 2 screws so you can here it in the video as a metallic pinging or ringing sort of, it has since been fixed and now sounds a little better. Also I pulled the carb. apart and the main jet was stuck and a diaphragm on the side was cracked, both of these problems have been fixed and the bike runs MUCH better. Thanks for watching!**Update - All the little things that needed adjusted or repaired are now fixed and the bike runs great, it even starts most days without the choke or any use of the compression release! However I have been in limbo with the paper work and it has given me enough of a headache that I gave up on being able to use it as a commuter. So my new plan was set in motion to use it as a trail bike. I recently removed all the signals, tail light and license plate bracket. For now I also removed the headlight bracket until an improvised system can be devised. Overall it should make a great trail bike!
