Not really a fan of the vocal songs here (except for the 1st ED and the image song, both of which I do like), but the BGM sounds nice—nothing particularly outstanding though, at least compared to his 80s works. There's two other 90s OSTs he did around the same time as this one: Mikeneko Holmes and Wataru Seken wa Oni Bakari—after having listened to those two albums first, listening to Sanchoume no Yuuhi sort of became a bore after a while due to the music sounding very alike to the aforementioned OSTs (I made the mistake of expecting something new sound-wise in this one). Oh well!In any case, this hadn't been publicly uploaded onto the net for a very long time, so being the Haneda fan that I am, I had to get the job done myself.Nevertheless, enjoy.

There's also an alternate version of "Aisha Audi" heard within the film too that's not on here—this version omits the vocals and can be heard in the scene where our MC is about to be ambushed by a fuckton of logs that fall from a nearby truck.I think there was also an alternate version of "Kanashimi no Melody" but I don't remember.Instead of including these tracks, you know what Victor decided to include in the CD version of the OST? The "movie" version of the ending credits theme song. The only thing changed were the first two lines of lyrics in the beginning of the movie version—both the OG and "movie" version of the song are literally identical besides that. I don't know why the hell Victor prioritized the ED's movie version over the unreleased BGM, especially considering that the singer pretty much vanished from the music industry after the movie was released—but alas, what more can I say...Anyways, enjoy.

The BGM composition is on spot here and the arrangement/performance by Rankin's SHOGUN band only makes it better. Truly a shame they didn't put out any OST release for the show until the 90s!As for the CD itself, please note: this is not the album's true mix. It's another one of those stupid albums where they isolate certain instruments and only have them play separately on both channels, which IMO makes for a very unpleasant listening experience if you're listening with headphones. An acquaintance (who shall remain anonymous per his request) helped mix both channels for me so as to make the music more tolerable—I also did some edits on my end and made the BGM slightly louder to have it match the volume levels as the OP/ED.Enjoy!

Is it rare? Well, yes—but not that rare!! The CD version has shown up time to time on YAJP so I feel like anybody could have gotten the job done by now if they put in the effort.Anyways.This album is disappointing unfortunately. Not because of the composition on here but because there's barely any original tracks on here. 10 songs in total and Starchild decided to shoehorn in pretty much every single anime song she had (only) ever done at that point—leaving us with 6(!!!) theme songs that could already be found elsewhere and 4 original songs. The original tracks on here are IMO really good and I find it shameful they didn't put in any more. Hiroe really deserved better.One last comment:This album actually happens to have an alternate version of the ending theme to the L-Gaim OVA "Fullmetal Soldier" that's not featured anywhere else. The only difference? The vocals. Arrangement-wise it's still the same. If you compare both the "album version" and the regular version found elsewhere, you will notice that the album version omits some choral vocals heard in the regular version, and overall her singing just sounds...different in some spots? IMHO I don't like the album version. It sounds weaker, almost as if it were meant to be like an early version of the song or something. It's cool that they included it though, I guess?Anyways, enjoy!

The main issue I really have with this is that the movie's main melody, while not bad, gets re-used in 90% of the movie's tracks and makes up the majority of said tracks—only two BGM tracks on here even sound remotely original at all, and all in all, it gets boring after a while. The worst part? While it's no surprise that every Kentaro Haneda OST has unreleased BGM, the movie has unreleased BGM that was actually purely original!! Why they decided to exclude it from the OST is beyond me.That's really all I have to say. Heck I didn't even want to purchase the CD for this movie cause of its price and cause of the music overall but I had to cause no one else would have done so anyways 🥴Anyways, enjoy.

Still expensive, but wasn't $600 at least!The quality might sound sus here and there, and you may notice some audible inner groove distortion with the vocals. I tried my best to reduce it but unfortunately there wasn't much I could do. Maybe my copy was worn out...I'd buy another one if I could but the rarity and pricing on it doesn't justify it.Here's hoping it gets re-issued elsewhere someday.Enjoy!

But there's an LP single containing 4 tracks from the album—I had actually received the LP first (from a friend) for scanning purposes, and additional research led me to discover that there was already a CD release, though I had no clue about its rarity then and I also had no interest in purchasing it at the time.However: some time later I was linked a Reddit post that described a user flagging this album as "lost media"....just because it wasn't available for DL online 😂He managed to obtain the CD eventually but due to him not owning a CD drive at hand, he decided he would rip the album by recording it with his stereo equipment of all things 🙃 As we all know that is not the proper way to rip things. So as such I decided to purchase this for proper ripping. The rearrangements here are okay, nothing stellar. IMO I feel they go on longer than they should though.Enjoy!

If you've been reading elsewhere: this is actually the very first album that got me into private presses to begin with, and one of the rarest entries in NKS's series of 80s vinyl albums! At the time of discovery, the only people who had a copy of this were Japanese DJs who kept showing off clips of tracks 2 and 6 on various social media sites...Fun fact: I used to communicate daily with a Japanese music collector many years ago, who happened to be close friends with one such JP DJ that owned this. I asked him if there was any way he could convince the DJ to sell his copy—first attempt went awry as I had been told my offer was "too low". After asking the collector if I could make a 2nd offer to the DJ, he absolutely refused and was so nervous by my request that he not only stopped communicating with me afterwards but unfollowed me on Twitter as well 🙃.No clue what the guy is up to nowadays but I wonder how he would react knowing that I finally got this album.ANYWAYS!I had been trying to keep an eye out for a copy of this since then—while I waited, some weird French boomer collector on Discogs tried to convince me that he'd be able to persuade a Russian collector who owned the album to sell his copy to me but that never went anywhere. (Ended up blocking the French collector anyways).A copy also showed up last year but it went past $1000+ and I was not yet ready at the time to spend such money on vinyl records at the time.It wasn't until last month when a copy showed up out of the blue on Discogs, and for a LOT less than what it had previously sold for before on YAJP! I took the opportunity to purchase it while the yen exchange rates were low, and...well here we are! Made an effort to de-click/restore as soon as I could, which finally led to this upload.My thoughts on the album? It's worth listening to at least once but in my honest opinion it is NOT worth any more money than what I had thankfully spent on for this. Ironically enough, despite its rarity and the fact that SO many DJs tried hyping up this album, I really don't think this is any better than some of the other NKS 80s albums that have been unearthed so far.Regardless of what I think, it was about time this finally escaped the clutches of those nasty DJs & private collectors and finally made its way to the public eye. There exists an English dub as well but episodes only mostly exist via 16mm reels and has been hardly catalogued...Enough about that. Now to the music!I bought my first copy of the OST (vinyl-only) in person from a now-defunct record shop when I visited Japan. However by the time I actually began trying to edit it (which was years later) I had to buy a second copy as the first one turned out to be damaged pretty badly.Idk if the music was genuinely recorded like this but I *really* do not like the way it was mastered for vinyl. The majority of the BGM sounds like it's pretty close to reaching earrape levels despite them not clipping—the insert song on this album is also kinda an indication of this. Both my first and second copies sound like this so I guarantee you it's not the LPs being worn out or anything.For the music itself...it's not bad! The funk pieces here are definitely reminiscent of stuff he's done earlier (mostly Ideon), and the rest of the tracks—which are mostly orchestral/classical-type stuff—very clearly have that distinct Sugiyama sound to them.Unfortunately Pony Canyon soiled it with this release. Being Pony Canyon, this suffers from the usual, it being an album with a short length and having lots of unreleased BGM as a result—but the music selection here is...sort of limited as well. Various BGM re-use the melody heard in "Itsuka Boku no Umi e" (which I think is a little more than it should have been), and after having skimmed through the show on YT myself, I think the album definitely would have benefited from the inclusion of several more tracks from the show that were omitted from the album.This is something I've said before but I'll say it again. There's still a chance for this to happen eventually in the future, but had the show been given a complete music collection release of sorts by now, well...I feel there may have been a likely chance that this could have one of Sugiyama's best soundtrack works of the 80s.Lastly: I intended to work on this album and release it as a "in memoriam" sort of thing for Sugiyama after he passed away last year, but due to the condition of the LP (among other things), I ended up being a year later as a result...😅 at least it's finally here though.Enjoy!

I got curious and checked his Discogs page to see if he had ever done anything else, and as a result I stumbled across his Za Za Za LP he did years later.I'm not sure where I heard samples from this LP (or if I even heard any at all), but I purchased it last year and MAN was it a worthwhile purchase! Unfortunately I didn't do much with it as I had gotten a rather beaten-up copy. I had to buy not one, but TWO more copies of this LP to eventually get something I could work with that wasn't dirty as fuck.Overall? Very nice synthpop album. Side A starts off with some rather mellow tracks first before going through the up-beat route for the rest of the album (with the exception of "Maria"), with tracks such as Seaside Highway and Shiokaze. Shiokaze and Za Za Za BTW are newly-arranged versions of the two tracks Miyate did under his "Temiyan" alias in the aforementioned "Ocean Paradise" LP!Some editing notes:I fear this album wasn't pressed properly on vinyl...track 4 (Za Za Za) has a synth playing in the end that gets VERY distorted upon playback—this was present in all 3 copies I had purchased of this album. Some other synths had minor inner groove distortion throughout the track as well. A friend of mine did his best to try and lessen the distortion of these synths, with me adding in some very minor touch-ups afterwards.The last track sounds a little bit sus quality-wise, too—but nothing I could do there. Idk if it was meant to sound like that or if it was also a mastering issue.In any case, it's not perfect, but this is as good as it gets for now until this gets an actual proper release one day.(There's a CD version of the album, but it is nothing more than a poorly done noise-reduced vinyl rip that contains these same issues as well)Enjoy!

The good thing? No dialogue/SFX! Well, unfortunately for some beach SFX that plays throughout track 1 and connects/leads on over to track 2, but the rest of the OST is saved from that.The music? I bought this under the assumption it'd be mostly synth. It's not. I'd say about 90% of it is orchestrated and 10% is synth...it being orchestrated isn't the issue for me. It's the composition. The leading melody or main theme or whatever gets re-used in almost every track and it gets tiring after a while. Only a few tracks on here are actually distinct/purely original, and even those tracks weren't engaging enough for me.There's probably unreleased BGM in the movie not featured in the OST, but honestly I don't really care given how much I really "like" this album.Oh well. This clearly wasn't for me but maybe the rest of you will like this. The vocal song is banging though!Enjoy.

I've had this in my stash for like a year or two now but unfortunately I can no longer remember how I came across this title. None of the listings for this OST online mention Ogasawara by name (and I usually search for albums by artist name), so chances are I was likely searching for info regarding the OVA's home media release and ended up discovering on the side that there was also an OST release for it.I've yet to see the OVA so Idk how these tracks connect/relate to it. But damn, they're good!! Ogasawara has a few composing credits on this album but overall the only other major credit he's given on here is as a "sound producer"—though it's not listed by name I am 100% positive he arranged these tracks as well. The majority of this OST (vibe-wise) isn't typically the kind of music that Ogasawara works with but I am happy to say he pulled it off pretty well here.The vocals are okay, nothing extraordinary...though I did enjoy some of Ohzora's solo tracks on here. But I can't tell you how shocked I was to hear Keisuke Yamamoto of Piper fame star in this album lol. Never did I ever expect Yamamoto to show up on an Ogasawara album of all things (let alone, any sort of soundtrack), but I won't complain—the songs he's involved with on here are absolutely some of the best that the OST has to offer imo.
