DriftFern, a Shadowclan warrior was grief stricken when her brother: SpiderTalon, passed away to greencough. While mourning, she noticed the clan did not care, acting as if nothing happened; it angered her. She buried her brother alone and stayed vigil at his grave all night when he heard a rustle. Investigating it she found: SheepJaw, who was SpiderTalon's mate but she was fine and moved on quickly with the deputy, MarshScar! Feeling further rage at how quickly she moved on, DriftFern blinded the other she-cat, a metaphor for how she did not want to see how much SpiderTalon cherished her given she dropped him so fast when he died.
Walking away DriftFern found the leader and medicine cat leaving to visit the moonstone, given the fact the medicine cat withdrew herbs to save other cats and not her brother, she ran to the moonstone, getting there before they did. When DeerStar was in Starclan, DriftFern hopped out and killed, YarrowMask, before turning around and killing DeerStar while he was oblivious. She was found out when SheepJaw got back and snitched on her getting her exiled. As she left, she found the barn where she met her lover, Juniper, he did not care what she did as he felt she was justified. Juniper changed how he felt of himself into a she, which DriftFern accepted Juniper fully.
As they moved to RiverClan, the leader, DarkStar accepted her no issue. Despite being pregnant, DriftFern killed ShinningPaw of Shadowclan and FoxPaw of RiverClan; because she was many different scents she easily pinned the other on different clans, convincing DarkStar, that Shadowclan wanted war. DarkStar left to go with DriftFern to fourtrees, DriftFern alone confronted ColdStar who doubled down that SpiderTalon was a tragedy and not unavoidable. In anger DriftFern gave the signal and left the field. Riverclan ambushed from all sides and DarkStar killed ColdStar in anger over his son unaware he was played for a fool.
DriftFern was appointed deputy of Riverclan as a symbol of duty for saving them from war that she plotted anyway. She saw her brother's ghost and left Riverclan, unaware SpiderTalon had hatched up a plan, he did not like what his sister was becoming. He was overcome with guilt and apologized before MarshScar launched out and drowned DriftFern. MarshScar fled unaware that her kit, CrowKit, had watched what happened. And the poor kit even watched his mother be pulled down into the Dark forest. Juniper buried DriftFern and held er kit to confort him, then she woke up in the dark forest where she will finally learn what happened to DriftFern ❤️
