Ben Durham 2023-12-01 | There are tons of great ways to lock your bike (NOT using a cable lock) but sometimes even the most robust locks can't keep determined thieves from stealing your bike. Now, I haven't ever had a bicycle of mine stolen because I have the rest of Pinhead's locks on all of my removable components (wheels, seat, handlebars, etc.) so that already makes thieves think twice. But Pinhead Locks also has a TagBox which you can just plop your AirTag or SmartTag thingy-tracker into and then you can track it where ever your bike is! Not only for theft, either. Pickup Trucks Are TOO SMALL (*officially) Ben Durham 2023-11-22 | Pickup trucks are both too huge for roads nowadays AND too small to carry anything they were originally made to carry. It's so silly. The fact that truck beds are so small just shows you what the priorities of automotive companies are: attract as many buyers as possible by making a truck-shaped, generic van. And you bet they don't forget to sell you all the over-priced accessories for your truck... to make it less trucky and more like a minivan. But don't you worry, you're still "technically" driving a truck. Sigh. How to Carry Expensive Things on Bikes Ben Durham 2023-11-17 | "what if need to carry XYZ or ABC?! Now THAT's why I need a car!" I mean sure, there might be times you "need" to drive but people around the world live without cars or trucks because there are alternatives that exist. Wait whaaat? Yeah. So in this case, yeah, I'm carrying a medium-priced camera but it's not a big deal to use a bike to do this instead of plopping it in the passenger seat of our li'l Elantra hatchback. Gear is meant to be used and abused, not meant to just be stuck on a shelf to gather dust. Cameras and associated gear are tools, just like a hammer or screwdriver are tools. That's actually part of the reason I love NOT buying the newest and greatest camera gear: I can bang it around and not care as much! Not that that's the case with this loaner camera, as it was just a C-cam on sticks for a wedding ceremony we filmed over the weekend... Which we drove to because it was out of town. But that doesn't stop me from biking when I can (like in this video). It's not all or nothing. Thanks for the loaner cam, guys!
