Go around Mt.Fuji while visiting the 5 surrounding lakes. (circuit road 100km) Mount Fuji looks symmetrical, but its shape changes depending on the viewing direction. Young leaves are sprouting from the trees at the foot of the mountain, and the temperature in the city exceeds 30 degrees, but there is still a lot of snow on Mt. Fuji.
Mt.Fuji is 100km from the city center and takes about 2 hours. Climbing takes a bus to the 5th Station (under the snow) and takes about 6 hours to reach the summit. There is no snow in July and August, so you can enjoy it without worry.
There are five lakes on the north side (Yamanashi Prefecture, mountain side), and tourism is popular. Dairy farming is thriving on the south side (sea side of Shizuoka Prefecture), and there are many grasslands and auto-camping grounds, and music festivals are also held.

From Aomori Station, we circled the Shimokita Peninsula and headed to Hachinohe Station. The tip of the peninsula is Oma Cape, the northernmost point of Honshu. Oma Cape is a fishing port famous for its high-quality tuna used as sushi toppings. At the first auction, a 270kg tuna was once sold for over 300 million yen.
There was also a rock tunnel that looked like Totoro.

Shirakawa-go, lined with old houses, is a World Heritage Site popular with foreign tourists.
Most of Japan's old buildings are made of wood, and only a few remain.
Shirakawa-go has traditional houses that are 300 years old.
Shirakawa-go is beautiful all year round, but it is also one of Japan's heaviest snowfall areas, so you need to be prepared if you visit in the middle of winter.
It's already spring, but there is still a lot of snow left.
It's 390km from Tokyo to Shirakawa-go on regular roads.

Mount Fuji is often associated with blue and white, but the bright red color of the mountain when it is illuminated by the morning sun in late autumn is popular as a sign of good fortune.
After Red Mount Fuji, the first snow will fall and the road to the Fifth Station will soon be closed. In 2024, the first snow was late, and the road was closed on the afternoon of November 19th. When I climbed to the Fifth Station on the morning of the closure, the branches of the trees were stained white with frost. The sea visible in the distance is the Pacific Ocean.
Due to the relatively high cloud cover around Mt. Fuji, tourists have a 50/50 chance of seeing a beautiful view of the mountain.
There are days when the entire mountain is covered in clouds and nothing can be seen, but there are endless combinations of Mt. Fuji and beautiful clouds, making it a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The Shinkansen that connects Tokyo and Osaka has three train names based on speed, and they are named in Yamato language. Yamato kotoba is a beautiful language that has existed in Japan since ancient times. In order of speed: "Nozomi" means "hope". "Hikari" means "light". "Kodama" means "Yamabiko". Yamabiko is the phenomenon where if you shout loudly towards a mountain, your voice is reflected and heard again. (echo) The current time is 8:01:15. Karuizawa is a high-end resort where Tokyo businessmen spend their summer holidays. It's popular because it's cooler than Tokyo and has good access - just 61 minutes by Shinkansen. There are large ski resorts in Shiga Kogen and Nozawa Onsen. Kusatsu Onsen is a very popular hot spring resort, despite its poor access. There is no Shinkansen station nearby, so you'll need to take a local train and then a bus. It takes about 3 hours from Tokyo by train and bus.

It takes 3.5 hours by car from Tokyo to reach the Utsukushigahara Plateau.
In March, Tokyo begins to feel the warmth of spring, but the plateau is still covered with a lot of snow and is a different world.
You can see Mt. Fuji in the distance.
This plateau route has little elevation change, and it takes about 2.5 hours round trip at a leisurely pace.
You can also enjoy a leisurely lunch at the summit.
If the weather is good, like on the day of the video, even beginners and children can enjoy it with peace of mind.
Although it is a flat plateau, the mountain can become aggressive in bad weather, so please be careful of the weather.
The popular Mt. Fuji can only be climbed for two months in summer, so it is also recommended for foreign tourists who want to enjoy winter mountains.
If you stay overnight, you can enjoy the sunrise, sunset, and starry sky. It's great to take a bath while looking at the scenery. (Limited to hotel guests) ougatou.jp ougatou.jp/cuisine/cafe/ (Pay attention to business days)

It takes 2 hours by train from Tokyo to Nikko. The world heritage shrines and temples are decorated with gorgeous decorations and are very popular. There is a lake and a large waterfall on the mountain. Autumn leaves are also popular, and traffic congestion increases during this time. It is also a popular destination for elementary school students on school trips, and special trains carrying large numbers of students arrive at Nikko Station. http://www.nikko-kankou.org
Next to Nikko is Oze Wetland. Cars are not allowed in Oze, and the beautiful nature remains intact. It takes about an hour by car from the nearest station, Numata Station, to the entrance of Oze. It is easily accessible from Tokyo, and the entire peninsula is a popular tourist destination.
Yokohama Bayside has a rich history and more facilities than Tokyo's Bayside. Yokohama is home to Japan's largest Chinatown, which can be mistaken for China. There is a US military base in Yokosuka. When I was a child, I enjoyed visiting it several times a year. It was a Japanese military base, but after the war it became a US military base.
Sarushima is the only natural uninhabited island in Tokyo Bay. During the war it was a military fortress. Currently, it is a popular tourist island where you can enjoy history and nature. aumo.jp/articles/18260
It takes 1 hour and 30 minutes by train from Tokyo to the tip of the peninsula. It is an area where agriculture and fishing are flourishing. The morning market is also popular, with fresh locally grown vegetables and fish. Jogashima is a tourist destination where you can enjoy the sea.
On the other side of the peninsula are popular tourist destinations such as Kamakura and Enoshima. Kamakura is a historic city, but traces of history are hard to see from the main streets. When you enter the alley, you can feel the vestiges of the past. There are many temples and shrines here, and you can feel the history as soon as you step inside.
