Ever dreamed of having just one professional remote that can both control your gimbal & camera settings, very precisely, during your live productions ? With the Middle Remote, you can adjust a good number of camera settings such as Pan / Tilt / Zoom / ISO, White Balance, Tint, IRIS, Focus, Contrast, Saturation, White / Black Level… If you use a Blackmagic Design ATEM, the Middle Remote displays are synced from the ATEM so that your values are always up to date!

The Middle Remote can either be used to control :
1. Blackmagic Design cameras controlled with an ATEM (Blackmagic ATEM required in that scenario)
2. Blackmagic Design cameras and select DJI gimbals using the Middle Things APC-R. For more info on supported gimbals & cameras, check out the APC-R compatibility.

Make Pro X Glue software (free) and Middle Control Software (free) are required to use the remote. Available on Mac OS (Big Sur or later ) and Windows 10/11.

The Remote is made up of button tiles that can be swapped and configured the way you want. This way, the controller will grow with you! Audio mixers, DMX lighting consoles, A/V automation, Middle Things Middle Control, all of these can be controlled by the MakePro X Glue software which translates the Remote USB instructions into readable messages for these different ecosystems.
Thanks to this modular approach, not only can you dynamically assign almost any camera or gimbal action to any button, but you can also add more buttons / encoders or even motorized faders in a bigger enclosure!
Within a given remote, you can map different buttons to actions from separate devices. Why not map one fader to the Pan / Tilt Speed, another one to an ATEM Laptop Input Audio Level and another one to a Behringer X32 Mix Bus? The remote ships with sticker packs so that you can customize the labels on the 4 RGB buttons, depending on which action is configured.

The Middle Control software has been optimized to run very smoothly with the Middle Remote.
From the Camera ID selection buttons to the camera settings (Iris, ISO, White Balance, Focus, Contrast, Saturation..), every function has been made controllable by the remote.
When you trigger an action on the Middle Remote, it will be sent out to the Glue software which sends it to Middle Control which then translates it to the ATEM, Camera and Gimbal. The Glue software allows you to configure the mapping on the remote.
Thanks to Middle Control's compatibility with Make Pro X Glue and Bitfocus Companion, you can expand the scope of your remote, the only limit being your technical creativity!

In this video we look at how you can control Blackmagic Cameras (BMPCC4K /6K / Ursa Mini Pro, etc) wirelessly right from your control room, with a good range, and without any cable. This can be very practical when you have a camera operator who is moving around on stage without any cables, and you want to control the camera settings such as Iris / Shutter / White Balance / ISO or even Advanced Color Correction wirelessly in order to match it with the other cameras.

Indeed, although you can send the video signal of the camera wirelessly to the ATEM switcher through a wireless video transmitter, you cannot send back the camera control information using the same video transmitter. This is where the APC-R comes in handy. It will basically act as a Wi-Fi to Bluetooth converter, talking to the ATEM through the network and passing Camera Control data to the camera using bluetooth. You don’t have to worry much about bluetooth issues since the idea is to bring the APC-R as close as possible to the APC-R in order to maximize signal strength.

With the Middle Control Software, bring your live camera control experience to a whole new level. Using precise and low latency axis and button mapping, you can control your camera AND your gimbal, all in one place : your gamepad controller.

To use the Middle Control Software, you install it on a PC that you connect to your ATEM router using WiFi or Ethernet. Then you set the ATEM IP address in our app, press connect, and you're done! You can now adjust settings of regular SDI Blackmagic cameras as well as Pocket cameras & DJI gimbals if you use the APC.

With the APC, you can use the Blackmagic ATEM Software Control or the Blackmagic ATEM Camera Control Panel to adjust your BMPCC 4K & 6K settings remotely ! Which means minimal changes in your Live Production workflow.

You can control the same settings as the URSA Mini Pro or Ursa Brodcast, which includes Shutter / Iris / WB / Gain / Some Primary color correction, Focus and Zoom.

Since the BMPCC 4K / 6K doesn't have an SDI input connector like the other Blackmagic studio cameras, the APC converts the SDI program feed from the switcher into a Bluetooth signal that the BMPCC can read.

The APC only requires a 12V DC connection to operate. It also features and SDI loop out port if you want to daisy chain another Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera. Please note that you still have to take the pocket HDMI signal and send it to the switcher.

Another great feature of the APC is that you can operate your DJI Ronin-S directly from the Blackmagic 1 M/E Advanced Panel or any PTZ panel. The magic happens by wiring the CANbus port of the Ronin-S Focus Wheel to the corresponding data port on the APC.
