bennyscubeIn this video, I show a compact memory system that is small and fast enough to be used as a large scale RAM system. I also go over some bugs in other mass memory systems, and show why none of them work as well in current versions of Minecraft.
This and my other videos are done on the Open Redstone Engineering or ORE server. There's even a school of redstone where you can learn redstone from the best.

IMPORTANT: At 15:18, I meant 3 ticks for the repeater. I did the right thing in the video, but I said it wrong. You add 2 extra ticks, to make it 3 ticks overall. Again, this is important because otherwise the multiplier WILL NOT WORK.

NOTE: To be clear, at 6:18, it is correct that the top signal is on even though there is a cancel. This is correct because the carry signal comes AFTER the cancel; it doesn't make sense to cancel a signal before it's even given. I'd planned to add this in an annotation, but apparently youtube no longer allows those. Sorry for any inconvenience or confusion!
UPDATE: I've now learned this particular adder design was originally built by MagicalGentleman (youtube.com/channel/UCejg9aUDOYTP8vSPULstzyw). Special thanks to Koyarno for clarifying!

Open Redstone Engineer's server: ip: mc.openredstone.org Website: http://openredstone.org Youtube: youtube.com/user/OpenRedstoneLive Redstone 1: Diagonal Memory Systembennyscube2013-12-25 | PLEASE READ: As I said in the comments, this does not mean I'm back. I've run into major issues with my previous recording setup, and I can't record videos like this anymore. This video is actually from a while ago, and I wasn't going to upload it because I didn't think the idea worked out, but I thought I should at least give you guys something for Christmas.
My new recording setup can handle "simpler" videos, such as the coding videos I do on thebennybox, but if you watch those videos then you've seen how horribly it lags when recording anything 3D. It does have the plus that it actually works, but I'd really rather not compromise video quality.
If anyone does have suggestions on smoothly recording these videos at this level of video quality, I'd be very interested.
Also, [SPOILERS AHEAD] as for the sudden stop at the end of the video, there was actually about 30 minutes more of this where I found out the memory connected in the time I wished, but I couldn't fit a second register in, and I was doing some engineering there. [END SPOILERS] Unfortunately, that's about where my old recording set up started screwing up. About 5-10 minutes of that was overwritten with white noise, and was pretty much unwatch/listenable. Afterwards, it simply stopped recording at all. However, that's how it ended in case you were curious. It was mostly more of the same, just with that problem instead.
