Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade - Sword-Only Challenge - Session #7 (Finale) SlimKirby 2024-06-27 | Hello everybody, SlimKirby here, and welcome to a challenge run of Fire Emblem 7!In this run, I'm going to be doing a sword-only challenge of the game. Basically, as I go through this game, I can only initiate combat (doing damage to another unit) with units if they are using a sword as a weapon. If a unit can use swords and another weapon, they can only fight with swords, so they must get rid of any other usable weapon they have if it does not meet the criteria of a sword. If a unit cannot use a sword, I can still bring them into a map for defensive fodder, recruiting other characters, rescuing units, or as a secondary convoy of sorts, as long as they aren't doing any damage to another enemy.For this run, I will be doing Lyn Hard Mode + Eliwood Normal mode. I considered Hector Mode, but if I decide to come back to this game at a later date, it may be fun to do an Axe-Only run with Hector Mode, since he is an Axe Lord. Since both Eliwood and Lyn use swords, I think it makes sense to stick with them. I'm also avoiding Hard Mode because...well, I kind of want to have fun with this, and Hard Mode may just end up creating more stress than I want to deal with.To give this an extra challenge, I will also not be using any staff-users as well, so all healing must be done with vulneraries or elixirs, or healing terrain. I will also be trying to avoid the use of dancers as well, since they can be looked at as support units, much like healers.This will be the last part of this challenge as we take on the penultimate chapter and the finale chapter, so we are almost there! Super Mario Party - Full MiniGame Rankings SlimKirby 2024-06-02 | Hello everybody, SlimKirby here, and it's time for another minigame ranking video, this time for Super Mario Party! We are finally in the current era of Mario Party, and while many people will turn their heads to Superstars over this game, I still have many fond memories and feelings about this one, as I consider this game the perfect balance between classic Mario Party and a good mix of some experimental modes. It's also got a ton of great minigames, which makes a list like this even more exciting!As I mention in all of these videos, as usual, this list is purely my opinion, so we may not see eye-to-eye on some placements and how I ranked certain mini-games, and that is absolutely ok. Since both Eliwood and Lyn use swords, I think it makes sense to stick with them. I'm also avoiding Hard Mode because...well, I kind of want to have fun with this, and Hard Mode may just end up creating more stress than I want to deal with.To give this an extra challenge, I will also not be using any staff-users as well, so all healing must be done with vulneraries or elixirs, or healing terrain. I haven't decided about dancers/bards yet, but I may try to avoid them as well, since they can be looked at as support units like healers.This should be a fun experiment, and I look forward to taking on this challenge! Pokémon Yellow: Professor Oak Challenge - Session #6 (Final Session) SlimKirby 2024-05-24 | Hello everybody, SlimKirby here, and welcome back to the Professor Oak challenge!The basic idea for this challenge is that in order for me to make any progression in the game, I have to catch and evolve all Pokemon that are possible to get in my Pokedex before I can make any real progress. This means, for example, before I could face Brock, the first gym leader, I had to catch every Pokemon in the first few areas and fully evolve them before beating him, and getting access to more of the game. Then, I would have to do the same thing for each consecutive part of the game. So for section #2, I had to get every new pokemon I could catch and evolve before beating Misty and getting the ability to use Cut, to unlock more of the game. This challenge is not really that difficult; just tedious and grindy, but you know me, I love my perfectionist and very grindy video games, so I figured this challenge was perfect for me, lol.Last time we finished up Milestone 3 finally and are about done with Milestone 4....so how could this be the final session? Well, being real with you, there actually aren't a lot of pokemon left to pokedex. Just a few evolutions to get, one entire family we have to raise up to 36, and a few legendaries, and this challenge is actually done, so a majority of this stream should just be badge collecting. Let's get this done folks!Also, at the end of the stream, I'll announce what my next Youtube stream project is. Slim Plays Aladdin (SNES) - Part 1 SlimKirby 2024-05-15 | Hello everybody, SlimKirby here, and welcome to my new Let's Play!This was probably super unexpected, and it is interesting that I'm going right back to Capcom after my break with Donkey Kong, but hey, I was in the mood to play this game again, so I figured why not? Say hello to Disney's Aladdin for the Super Nintendo!In an age where licensed video games were actually pretty damn hardcore and fun, Aladdin was an example of Capcom knowing what the heck they were doing when it came to licensed franchises and making video game adaptations. I grew up with this game and had a lot of fun with it, even though it is pretty damn easy by today's standards. Still fun though!In this playthrough I will be just beating the game, but I will also be attempting to unlock the "best ending" which is really just an alternate credits scene, which will require me to collect 50 out of the 70 red gems in the game. I may also just go for all of them, since it is me, SlimKirby. These videos will probably be a lot shorter than many of my usual projects, some likely being less than 10 minutes. I'll try not to go under 5 minutes at least (which was actually the case for one of the worlds, lol). Also, sometime I may check out the Genesis version of Aladdin because that version was also pretty well-received and is actually quite different from this version. Pokémon Yellow: Professor Oak Challenge - Session #1 SlimKirby 2024-04-25 | Hello everybody, SlimKirby here, and welcome to my new Youtube streaming project!Doing something a bit less ambitious this time as I'm heading back to the world of Pokémon and attempting a challenge run of one of the Generation 1 Pokémon games. For this playthrough of Pokémon Yellow, I will be attempting what's called the Professor Oak Challenge. This a Pokédex-related challenge where you must completely fill out the entire Pokédex (or at least what you can without trading) as you go throughout the game; being unable to progress past certain milestones until you max out the Pokédex (or what you can do with the Pokédex) at that point. For example, before you beat Brock, and give yourself the ability to go beyond Pewter City, you have to catch and evolve all Pokémon you can get at that point, which I believe is 17; the most extreme example in the first stretch being capturing and evolving a Pidgey/Pidgeotto at Level 36. Now, if I was playing Red or Blue, just for comparison sake, I would have to evolve my Starter Pokémon up to 32/36 as well, so since I'm playing Yellow, I do get a bit of a break there, but I'm sure there will be other nuances we'll have to look out for as we go throughout this adventure that are unique to Yellow and not the other two games.As you can probably tell, this challenge will be very, VERY grindy, but because of that, I will be using a speed-up key to make the process go a lot faster, and may even play some music during these grinding periods as well, so I'll try to find a way to make those slower parts more interesting.I'm not sure how this will be received, but as I've stated before, I want to try more challenge-based content on this channel, and since I low-key enjoy filling out the Pokedex in the Generation 1 Pokémon games, I thought this would be an interesting experiment.
