Godless EngineerToday we are tackling Catholic Answers and the Resurrection. They say that the Resurrection of Jesus is in no way based Pagan Myths. I disagree. He Dismisses a few resurrection gods and in some cases flat out lies about them.
First is the idea that the resurrection of Jesus couldn't have been based on Pagan beliefs because the idea of resurrection wasn't part of the pagan worldview. That's just blatantly false. He takes a shot at a greek god named Attis and I'm not sure he read a source on Attis or what but he gets Attis completely wrong. He says that Attis was resurrected into a Pine tree. Attis was born of an almond that grew from a tree which grew from a severed penis. So I don't know what he's talking about.
A better point was made about Osiris but it still fails. He said that Osiris didn't resurrect back into an earthly body. But, Osiris resurrected and ruled over Duat which is comparable to Sheol. Sheol was supposed to be a physical place here on earth. The Grecian version of the gospels actual reference it as Hades. Regardless of that, Jesus was resurrected into a spiritual body, not some physical one.
He takes a shot at some other Dying and Rising gods but he either flat out lies or is misrepresenting the information in a way to support his claims.
The whole of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus can be traced back to the Old Testament. The Book of Daniel offers a blueprint for the entire affair. Pilate being so unsure of putting Jesus to death can be traced there. The sealing of the Tomb and ones that cared for him coming to unseal it are all easily traced to Daniel. The angel that appears in the tomb is also traced there. The words used to characterize the angel are copied from Daniel. The Choice between Barabbas and Jesus is a version of the yam Kappur ritual. Jesus being made to carry his cross to the hill parallel’s Abraham making Isaac carry the wood up to his hill to be sacrificed. The ascension of Jesus into Heaven mimics all other resurrection deities. All of it either comes from pagan myths or the Old Testament.

Seth AndrewsGodless Engineer2024-10-16 | In this video, a caller named Andrew tries to prove that Jesus existed, only to get completely shut down by facts. Andrew begins by claiming that even though mythological elements exist in Christianity, this doesn’t rule out the possibility of a historical Jesus. He argues that the Gospels meet several historical criteria, including multiple attestation and coherence. However, his attempt to validate Jesus’s existence quickly unravels when his reasoning is scrutinized.
I counter Andrew’s points by revealing the hard-hitting facts: the earliest references to Jesus describe him as a purely celestial figure, not a historical person. Using a solid foundation of evidence, I explain that the stories about Jesus are likely fabrications built upon Mediterranean mystery cults, which frequently concocted mythical savior figures. The Gospels, far from independent accounts, are shown to be derivative, with no reliable historical sources, which shuts down Andrew’s argument entirely.
As the debate escalates, Andrew struggles to substantiate his claims, particularly when I expose the flaws in his reliance on speculative sources like the hypothetical Q document. Despite his efforts, the facts are undeniable—Jesus’s earthly existence lacks credible historical evidence, leaving Andrew’s defense in tatters. Watch as this caller tries and fails to prove Jesus existed, getting shut down by cold, hard facts.

Discord Server: ge.hopp.to/JoinGEDiscordChristian Gets COOKED on the Ten Commandments And Womens Rights!Godless Engineer2024-10-14 | In this video, I take on a heated conversation with Duke, a Christian who gets cooked on the topic of the Ten Commandments and women’s rights. Duke, who sees himself as a follower of Jesus but not a typical Christian, brings up his views on morality, the Bible, and why he believes in God. He claims a balanced perspective, mixing science, destiny, and cultural development. Still, things quickly spiral into confusion as I challenge him on the Bible's explicit treatment of women as property and the moral contradictions within the Ten Commandments.
The debate turns intense when Duke tries to defend the Ten Commandments as morally good while sidestepping their blatant disregard for women's rights. I bring up critical issues, like the Bible’s sanctioning of slavery and the problematic divine command theory that Duke appears to support, exposing the inconsistencies in his stance. He struggles to reconcile these contradictions, suggesting that God's "sovereignty" overrides any moral concerns—a notion I pick apart to show how it fails to align with fundamental human values.
Throughout the debate, Duke gets grilled as I highlight how biblical morality falls short, especially regarding gender equality. By the end, it's clear that his explanations are ad hoc and unable to hold up under scrutiny. Now it’s your turn—do you think he made a compelling case, or did he just get cooked? From the very beginning, however, Adam's argument instantly crumbles under the weight of basic logic. I challenge his assumptions about the universe having a cause, explaining that cosmologists propose energy, which can neither be created nor destroyed, as a simpler and more plausible explanation for the universe's existence than a divine being.
As Adam tries to argue that energy must be physical and causally contingent, I dismantle his reasoning by highlighting the complexities of potential and kinetic energy, showing how not all forms of energy fit neatly into his physical classification. This leads to a deeper analysis of his metaphysical claims, particularly the notion that God exists outside of time and space. I point out the inherent contradictions and demonstrate why his defense of God as a brute fact lacks coherence when measured against logical scrutiny.
Throughout the discussion, I emphasize how Adam’s argument stacks up unnecessary assumptions—violating Occam's razor. By the end, it's clear that his argument for God has crumbled, with energy as a brute fact standing as a far more logical explanation. The debate underscores the importance of reducing unsupported claims to form solid and coherent arguments, and viewers are left with a compelling example of how basic logic can unravel even the most steadfast theistic positions.

Discord Server: ge.hopp.to/JoinGEDiscordChristian Claims We Have LIVING Blood of Jesus And Gets COOKED!Godless Engineer2024-10-07 | In this video, I engage in a fiery debate with a Christian named Matthew, who makes the shocking claim that we possess the literal, living blood of Jesus on ancient robes. Right from the start, I cook this assertion by demanding credible evidence and questioning how anyone could conclusively prove the blood is linked to Jesus himself. The exchange dives deep into the importance of skepticism and reliable evidence when faced with such bold and miraculous claims.
Matthew then shifts the conversation to his personal testimony, describing a car accident that he survived unscathed and attributes to divine intervention. I don't hold back as I question the logic behind this belief, contrasting his perceived "blessing" with the countless Christians who experience tragedy without miraculous rescue. The discussion explores how emotional experiences often lead to supernatural interpretations while I emphasize more plausible, natural explanations.
The heat continues as we delve into moral and historical issues from the Bible, including problematic topics like child marriages, Yahweh's moral commands, and the supposed truth behind stories like Noah’s Ark. Throughout, I hold Matthew to the fire, challenging his beliefs respectfully yet directly. I ultimately encourage viewers to consider whether any of these claims offer solid evidence for God's existence or the authenticity of Jesus. Let me know what you think of Matthew's claims in the comments!

Zeke starts by questioning why I don't believe in any gods, suggesting a "God of only good." We dive into a philosophical discussion about whether an all-good deity's love would come with caveats, which leads us to a more profound debate about deism, the soul, and animal consciousness. Zeke shifts his arguments to evolution as the conversation progresses, demonstrating misconceptions about human ancestry and claiming that animals don't communicate rationally like humans.
Reynita, a science expert with a background in evolutionary biology, joins the conversation to help clarify how evolution works and how animals communicate and to address Zeke’s misunderstanding of science. The flat-earther quickly pivots to defying gravity, claiming the Earth is flat and presenting various pseudoscientific theories. By the end, Zeke throws a rapid-fire list of unfounded claims and questions, making the conversation spiral into debunking mode. streamyard.com/pal/d/5461246688624640Young Earth Creationist DESTROYED in Debate Over Grand Canyon Geology!Godless Engineer2024-10-02 | In this video, a caller named Brendan brings up the topic of flood geology to challenge the hosts, arguing that bent sedimentary rock in the Grand Canyon supports a young Earth creationist model. Brendan cites the film "Genesis: History" and suggests that the rock's formation is evidence of a global flood as described in the Bible. The hosts, however, dismantle these claims, pointing out that the supposed "evidence" is unconvincing and lacks peer-reviewed scientific backing. They stress that one isolated example cannot overturn the entire consensus of geology and physics.
The hosts DESTROY the argument by explaining that geologists have long studied the Grand Canyon's rock formations, finding micro-fractures consistent with the rock bending while solid, not wet, as the flood model proposes. They also reveal that terms like "bent rock" are creationist fabrications, not scientific terminology, designed to make it difficult to find accurate information. Brendan attempts to bolster his claims with references to other geological events like the Missoula flood and rapid plate movements. Still, the hosts counter each point, emphasizing the reliability of the fundamental laws of physics over creationist reinterpretations.
By the end of the discussion, it becomes clear that the young Earth creationist model fails to hold up under scrutiny. The hosts explain that scientific theories are built on a substantial foundation of evidence, and they encourage viewers to seek out resources like "Talk Origins" to understand the scientific rebuttals to creationist arguments. The video shows how solid scientific reasoning systematically dismantles creationist claims about flood geology.

Discord Server: ge.hopp.to/JoinGEDiscordTHESE Are The Most Bizarre Arguments for Jesus ExistenceGodless Engineer2024-09-30 | In this video, I engage with a caller I've dubbed "King Dude," who presents some of the most bizarre arguments for Jesus' existence. King Dude attempts to prove the historicity of Jesus by appealing to various sources like the genealogy of the Jewish people, the Roman Empire, and biblical scripture. However, I critically examine his points and challenge him to provide concrete evidence directly tying Jesus to historical events. From the start, it's clear that these arguments are pretty far-fetched and fail to establish any factual historical basis for Jesus' crucifixion or existence.
As we delve deeper, I dissect King Dude's reliance on the Gospels as supposed eyewitness testimony and highlight their lack of historical credibility—pointing out the narrative style and fictional elements that make them unreliable. King Dude further cites Roman historians, the Gregorian calendar, and even Leonardo da Vinci's "Last Supper" as supposed evidence for Jesus. However, I systematically debunk each of these claims, showing how they don’t directly relate to Jesus' existence or are later developments unrelated to historical fact.
Throughout this exchange, I maintain a critical stance, exposing how bizarre and unsubstantiated these arguments are. Despite King Dude’s attempts to provide proof, his claims fall short, leaving the question of Jesus' historicity unresolved. Stick around to hear these unusual arguments thoroughly debunked, and let me know what you think about them in the comments!

Discord Server: ge.hopp.to/JoinGEDiscordChristian Claims Dinosaurs NEVER EXISTED!!!Godless Engineer2024-09-27 | In this video, I engage in a fiery debate with a Christian caller who claims that dinosaurs never existed! He challenges me with questions about purpose and the afterlife and ultimately presents his "evidence" against dinosaurs. I respond by discussing my atheistic views on the purpose and the lack of evidence for an afterlife. Then, I break down the scientific facts supporting the existence of dinosaurs, fossilization, and fossil fuels. Throughout the exchange, the caller denies conventional scientific explanations and insists that oil and fossils are man-made, presenting an argument that aligns with young-Earth creationism.
The conversation takes a theological twist as he implies that humanity’s suffering is due to rebellion and sin, suggesting that God doesn’t manifest in our lives unless we ask for forgiveness. I counter by arguing that God's existence should be detectable in reality, and the lack of evidence makes it difficult to justify belief. As I press him for details about his beliefs and reasoning, it becomes clear that his views are an eclectic blend of spiritual ideas rather than a straightforward religious stance. Eventually, the debate reaches a point where I decide to wrap up, as his argument against dinosaurs and unconventional beliefs make it challenging to have a focused conversation.

The discussion escalated quickly when I called him out on how the Ten Commandments list women alongside property like slaves and livestock. Despite his attempts to rationalize the text, I made it clear that the Bible treats women as property, and he couldn’t defend this disturbing fact. The debate was short, but the impact was explosive.
Throughout the conversation, I pressed the theist on this blatant inequality, and he continuously tried to deflect, focusing on the commandment about "coveting." However, I wasn’t about to let him off the hook. I obliterated his argument by showing how women are explicitly grouped with other possessions, which raised more profound questions about the Bible’s outdated moral framework. It became apparent that he wasn’t prepared to face these uncomfortable truths.
Ultimately, this debate exposed how far some theists will go to defend the indefensible. No matter how hard he tried to shift the focus, I made it clear that the Bible’s treatment of women as property is indefensible. They argue that the universe's structure mirrors the workings of a mind, implying divine creation. To make his case, the caller leans heavily on complex mathematical concepts, like bounded values and infinite sets. However, I, alongside my co-host Marc, shut down these claims, challenging how abstract mathematical models can be stretched to prove the existence of a god, especially without tangible evidence.
One of the critical moments occurs when we dissect the idea of infinity and its role in the caller's argument. While the caller insists that the infinite nature of mathematical structures is proof of a divine mind, we push back, questioning how mathematics and reality connect in this context. I also asked how he could differentiate between designed and undesigned objects in the natural world, to which his argument faltered. His claim that God created everything leads to contradictions in his free will and omnipotence model.
Ultimately, the ‘mathematical proof’ gets completely shut down as I express my frustration with the convoluted reasoning, likening it to a typical Jordan Peterson-style word salad. While the caller tries to justify his model, it becomes clear that these philosophical arguments don’t provide convincing evidence for God's existence. Right from the start, it was clear he couldn't handle my nuanced questions. Instead of engaging with my agnostic atheist stance, Darth tried to push me into a hard atheist position, claiming that if I didn't affirm God's necessity, I was indirectly denying His existence. His rigid approach left no room for genuine discussion, and he continually accused me of "dodging" his questions when I tried to explain my position.
As the debate heated, Darth Dawkins stuck to his typical tactics, refusing to acknowledge any answer that didn’t fit neatly into his presuppositional framework. He demanded straightforward answers, even when the discussion required more nuance. Despite my efforts to maintain an open and reasonable stance, he framed my responses as evasive, ultimately leading to a meltdown where he kicked me from the stream for not playing into his hands. His refusal to engage in a balanced dialogue clearly showed that he couldn’t handle the questions I was asking.
This meltdown is a perfect example of how presuppositionalists like Darth Dawkins try to force atheists into a corner, using loaded questions and ad hoc reasoning. As I’ve pointed out in other conversations, their reliance on presupposing God’s existence without evidence makes their argument weaker. In this video, you'll see firsthand how Darth couldn’t handle even the most basic challenges to his worldview, and how quickly things escalated when he lost control of the narrative.

Greg initially referenced familiar apologetic sources like Tacitus, a Roman historian, as evidence for Jesus. However, I quickly pointed out that Tacitus’s writings only reflected second-century beliefs about Christians, not firsthand accounts of Jesus himself. I also compared this to the historical evidence for figures like Alexander the Great, who has far more substantial archaeological and historical documentation, such as coins, statues, and writings from those who knew him directly. This comparison helped to highlight the difference in the type of evidence available for Alexander versus Jesus.
When speaking to Dawn, she shared her personal testimony of becoming a Christian nine years ago and cited life changes and emotional experiences as evidence for Jesus's existence. She referenced a common belief that hundreds of people witnessed Jesus after his resurrection. I emphasized that personal experiences and emotional reasons are not historical evidence. I also challenged the reliability of the apostles' accounts, suggesting that they, too, could be fabrications of later Christian writings. Our discussion briefly touched on what happens after death, where I expressed my agnosticism, but I brought the conversation back to historical evidence, stressing the importance of data over emotions.
I encouraged a critical and evidence-based approach to Jesus's historicity throughout the conversation. I argued that emotional experiences and religious traditions cannot substantiate historical claims. The parallels between Christianity and earlier mystery cults further complicate the idea of Jesus’s uniqueness, and the lack of concrete historical evidence for his life challenges his existence as a historical figure. This exchange allowed me to illustrate the difference between faith-based belief and the evidence-based reasoning I advocate for in discussions about religious figures.

Mark ReidGodless Engineer2024-09-16 | In this conversation with Mark, the central theme revolves around the challenges of confronting harmful religious ideologies while engaging with people who may hold differing beliefs. As an atheist activist, I assert that while empathy for individuals is essential, harmful beliefs—particularly those rooted in religion—cannot go unchallenged. For example, religious dogma that denies medical care to children or restricts women’s bodily autonomy presents actual harm in society. My position is that religion when it leads to actions that don't align with reality and scientific evidence, needs to be actively resisted. This isn’t about attacking individuals personally but ensuring that belief systems grounded in fantasy don't dictate harmful policies or practices.
Mark raises a point about the merits of reaching across the aisle and showing leniency towards religious people, especially those who may hold benevolent views like Jesus’ acceptance of outcasts such as lepers. However, I push back on the notion that we can compromise with groups that advocate for policies that directly harm people—be it through denying rights to women or enforcing archaic, anti-scientific ideas in public spaces. Mark’s suggestion that being “nicer” to these individuals will help change minds is met with skepticism. I emphasize that I don’t value compromising with beliefs that don’t align with reality, significantly when those beliefs harm others.
The underlying disagreement between Mark and myself lies in how to engage with religious beliefs: whether to confront them head-on or offer a more conciliatory approach. My stance is that while we should always engage respectfully, there are certain non-negotiable aspects of human rights and public policy—like women’s rights and healthcare—where religion cannot be allowed to dictate terms. While Mark believes that change can happen through understanding and outreach, I maintain that direct confrontation of harmful ideologies is sometimes necessary, especially when the stakes are high for marginalized groups.

Hovind attempts to blur the lines between consenting LGBTQ+ relationships and non-consensual acts like pedophilia and bestiality, which not only misrepresents the LGBTQ+ community but also exposes a dangerous misunderstanding of consent. The biblical foundations that Hovind leans on are built on a patriarchal system where the father’s consent, not the girl’s, is the deciding factor in marriage, echoing ancient cultural norms where girls were essentially treated as property. This disturbing approach is hypocritical, primarily when the Bible does not address the immorality of child marriages directly, making it challenging for apologists like Hovind to argue against them.
Hovind's statements, such as “she was ten and seemed pretty consenting,” reflect an alarming lack of understanding about the nature of consent, especially when it comes to children. In response to criticisms, he repeatedly leans on the Bible to justify these stances, revealing a deeper issue with how some conservative Christians interpret scripture. They continue to push outdated and harmful views that child marriages are acceptable, even when faced with modern legislative efforts to end these practices. By appealing to biblical precedent, Hovind ignores the clear harm caused by child marriages and fails to reconcile these views with contemporary understandings of ethics and human rights.
As I examine these arguments, it becomes clear that conservative Christians, particularly those like Hovind, who use the Bible as their moral compass, have little ground to stand on when it comes to condemning non-heteronormative relationships while condoning or defending child marriages. This exposes a hypocritical stance, one that disregards consent and bodily autonomy while attempting to uphold an outdated, patriarchal view of society. By calling out this hypocrisy, I aim to equip viewers with arguments to challenge these dangerous ideologies.

This opens a deeper debate about the reliability of sources and the need for evidence versus faith.
As the conversation continues, the topic shifts to comparisons between the evidence for Jesus and figures like Julius Caesar. The other speaker suggests that the same level of evidence exists for both, which I firmly refute. I emphasize the substantial documentation and correspondence we have for historical figures like Caesar, compared to the lack of direct evidence for Jesus. This sparks a broader discussion on how we should apply the historical method equally to all figures. I argue that the evidence for Jesus falls short compared to other prominent figures.
The conversation takes a moral turn when the participant tries to justify the actions commanded by God in the Old Testament, particularly the violent passages in *Numbers 31*. When I bring up the forced taking of young girls as spoils of war, they struggle to defend this as reasonable, and the discussion touches on the nature of God's morality. I point out the fallacy in claiming that God is beyond human morality, leading to a conversation about logical consistency in religious belief. Ultimately, while the discussion is cordial, it highlights the tension between faith-based belief and the demand for evidence.

Discord Server: ge.hopp.to/JoinGEDiscordCaller Defends THIS Shocking Argument About Consent in the BibleGodless Engineer2024-09-09 | In this discussion, I engaged with someone who identifies as an agnostic but holds unconventional beliefs about God and religion. The conversation started with the question of Jesus' existence and quickly evolved into a debate about the nature of faith, morality, and whether religion is necessary to guide one's life. The other speaker argued that religion offers a moral guide, while I challenged this by asking why secular methods, like therapy, are not just as effective, if not more so, in helping individuals navigate life without the need for a divine figure.
The discussion then shifted toward more complex topics, such as the problematic aspects of religious teachings, particularly in regard to consent and the treatment of women. I brought up the story of Mary in the Bible, highlighting how the lack of consent in her conception of Jesus raises ethical questions. This led to a back-and-forth where the other speaker attempted to justify these biblical narratives, suggesting that Mary's role as the bearer of the Messiah made her situation unique and beyond typical ethical considerations. However, I pushed back, pointing out the pleading fallacy inherent in their argument—why would God be exempt from the need to respect consent?
The interaction revealed fundamental differences in how we view religious narratives and their implications for modern ethical standards. While the other speaker saw these stories as spiritually significant and beyond critique, I maintained that even within religious contexts, we should apply the same moral scrutiny we would in any other situation. In the end, the conversation circled back to my original stance that these narratives, far from providing a moral guide, often illustrate the inherent dangers of using religion as a framework for ethics.

streamyard.com/pal/d/5461246688624640Caller FAILS to Prove Atheism is ABSURD in Heated DebateGodless Engineer2024-09-04 | In this conversation, I engage with an interlocutor who attempts to argue for the existence of a god based on logical necessity, while I challenge their assertions by focusing on the lack of evidence for such a being. The discussion starts with the claim that atheism is a flawed position and quickly moves into a debate over the law of the excluded middle. My stance is clear: I identify as an agnostic atheist, which means I don't believe in a god but am open to evidence if it ever surfaces. The conversation shifts into a debate about whether "not knowing" constitutes a valid third option in a dichotomy of belief versus disbelief in God. I argue that agnosticism, or withholding belief until evidence is presented, is a reasonable stance.
The debate intensifies when my interlocutor asserts that atheism is inherently flawed because it denies God's existence, which they claim leaves me with no viable option but to accept theism. I push back on this point, making clear that disbelief in a god does not require me to prove that a god absolutely does not exist but rather reflects the current state of evidence. When challenged on how the universe could exist without God, I introduce the idea of quantum fluctuations as a potential explanation for the universe's origin, emphasizing that no divine intervention is necessary for our understanding of physical laws. The argument continues back and forth, with my interlocutor insisting that denying God creates flawed options, while I maintain that there's simply no evidence to justify belief in a god.
Ultimately, the discussion devolves into a frustrating cycle where my opponent repeats the same points without providing substantive evidence for their claims. Despite the philosophical jargon employed, my position remains firm: belief in a god requires evidence, and in its absence, the rational stance is disbelief. At the end of the conversation, I expressed my frustration with the repetitive nature of the debate and chose to disengage, preferring to spend my time elsewhere.

Discord Server: ge.hopp.to/JoinGEDiscordGonna be on @qnaline tonight with @MarkReidAtheismGodless Engineer2024-09-02 | ...DEBATE: Does the Bible Condone Chattel Slavery | GE vs Joey The TheistGodless Engineer2024-09-02 | In this debate, I took a firm stance on the interpretation of biblical texts regarding slavery, engaging with a Christian apologist who attempted to reconcile the existence of slavery in the Bible with their belief in an all-loving, omnipotent God. The debate began with a discussion on the differences in interpretation between Old and New Testament passages, where the apologist argued that the laws around slavery in the Old Testament were more about accommodating the societal norms of the time rather than endorsing slavery as morally acceptable. They suggested that these laws were more about managing an existing system than outright condoning it.
I challenged this view by pointing out the inconsistencies in the argument that God, who is omniscient and omnibenevolent, would allow for the ownership of another human being in any context. I argued that if God was indeed against slavery, He would have made it clear in His commandments, just as He did with other moral directives. The debate highlighted the difficulty of reconciling modern moral standards with ancient religious texts, particularly when those texts are taken as divinely inspired and authoritative.
Throughout the debate, I emphasized that the Bible, as a moral guide, should have unambiguously condemned slavery if it were truly representing the will of a just and loving God. The failure to do so, especially when juxtaposed with other specific and seemingly trivial commandments, suggests that the Bible reflects the human authors' perspectives more than a divine moral standard. This discussion underscores the broader issue of interpreting religious texts and the challenges of aligning ancient scriptures with contemporary ethical beliefs.

streamyard.com/pal/d/5461246688624640Evidence God Spoke To ProphetsGodless Engineer2024-08-30 | ...Why Is Godless Engineer A Mythicist w. @thecrossexaminer6665Godless Engineer2024-08-28 | In this video, the discussion delves into the concept of Jesus' mythicism, which posits that Jesus may not have been a historical figure but rather a mythological construct created by early Jews and Jewish Christians. The theory suggests that Christianity didn’t necessarily need a physical Jesus to emerge but stemmed from reinterpretations of existing Jewish scriptures about a Messiah figure. The conversation draws comparisons to other mythological figures such as Robin Hood or King Arthur, where stories and folklore become adopted as literal history over time.
As the discussion unfolds, there is a significant focus on how early Christianity might have been influenced by mystery cults of the time, like those devoted to Isis or Osiris. These cults had common elements such as dying-and-rising saviors, eternal life promises, and communal meals—parallels in Christian traditions. It’s suggested that Christianity may have syncretized these ideas, creating a Jewish version of a mystery cult with a mythological savior figure at its core. The participants explore how these reinterpretations of scripture and myths helped form Christianity as we know it today.
Toward the end of the dialogue, there’s a discussion about how mythicism, while controversial, doesn’t necessarily undermine Christianity for believers. Instead, it challenges long-held assumptions about the Bible's historical accuracy. The conversation emphasizes critical thinking and being open to new evidence, suggesting that even strongly held beliefs should remain open to re-evaluation in light of new information. This open-minded approach contrasts with dogmatic thinking, which tends to resist questioning long-standing religious narratives.

Discord Server: ge.hopp.to/JoinGEDiscordCan This Caller PROVE Divine Command Theory Is Good?Godless Engineer2024-08-26 | In this transcript, I discuss a live call-in show from The Line where a caller seeks clarity on what it means to be morally righteous. The conversation begins with me explaining that morality is grounded in empathy and humanism rather than dogmatic religious beliefs. Morality is subjective and should be assessed case-by-case, particularly when considering complex situations that defy simplistic moral absolutes. This perspective contrasts with traditional religious views that define righteousness by adhering to divine commandments.
As the discussion unfolds, the caller wrestles with the idea of morality within the context of religious teachings. I highlight the contradictions within the Bible, pointing out that the God of the Bible is often portrayed as an immoral character who demands unjust actions, like genocide, based solely on disbelief. These actions, I argue, are indefensible from a moral standpoint, and any attempt to justify them reveals the inherent problems in using the Bible as a moral guide. This reinforces my position that religious morality often requires cherry-picking and ignoring inconvenient or brutal passages.
Toward the end of the call, We suggest that achieving moral righteousness is more about aligning actions with empathy and human well-being than adhering to religious dogma. The caller appreciates the insights, acknowledging they may hold on to a desire to believe rather than a genuine reason to believe. The exchange underscores the importance of critically examining one's beliefs and rejecting the notion that moral guidance must come from ancient, problematic texts.

Discord Server: http://bit.ly/JoinGodlessDiscordExposing And Destroying THIS Pro-Trump Propaganda ft. @Styxhexenhammer666Godless Engineer2024-08-21 | In this video, I critically analyze a piece of right-wing propaganda that aims to obscure the real implications of Donald Trump's recent statements about election security and voting. @Styxhexenhammer666 claims that liberals are misrepresenting Trump's remarks, particularly the claim that Christians might not need to vote after 2024. I argue that this interpretation is dangerous and misses the underlying authoritarian threat. Trump's rhetoric, I suggest, hints at plans to undermine future elections, either by making it impossible for liberals to win or by eliminating voting altogether. By framing himself as the one who will "fix" the system, Trump is essentially laying the groundwork for a totalitarian regime.
Throughout the video, I dismantle these conservative talking points, pointing out how they serve to manipulate and misinform their audience. Trump's comments about Christians not needing to vote, taken in context, reveal a strategy aimed at consolidating power and potentially nullifying future elections. I make the case that Trump's plans for America are not just rhetoric but steps towards an authoritarian government, similar to regimes we see in other parts of the world. This analysis exposes the dangerous intersection of Christian nationalism and political manipulation, underscoring the existential threat Trump poses to democracy.
