Our youngest son just came back from his 2 year mission to Kobe, Japan for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, so it’s been wonderful to be together as a family once more.One of the best things we did as a family, was to have a night of sharing heart to heart. It only took one of us to be brave enough to be open & to share some of their challenges, and then others followed. In reality, if you could truly REMEMBER who you are, it will help you to discover that God is your loving Father, that you are his dear son or daughter, and we are all family. As we come to “REMEMBER” this, it will bring us great joy, healing, strength & direction. Our love for others will grow, and we will desire to share God’s love to all. This in itself will restore you & fill your life with greater peace, healing & joy. This video shares 3 life changing ways that will help us to “REMEMBER” who we truly are: We can actually come to “REMEMBER” these things, as we develop our relationship with God. 1. The first step is to “COME AS YOU ARE.” Sometimes we can delay coming to God, thinking that we will come to Him when we have become better & stopped doing certain things. But God does not want us to wait until we are perfect. He wants us to come to Him now, even as we are.It can also be easy to keep ourselves at a distance from God, thinking that he’s so busy, and we don’t want to bother him. But in reality, God has the ability to be with us always, and in fact, he wants to be with us always.2. The second step is to THANK GOD BEFORE ANYTHING HAPPENS. This daily practice can help us to realize that God is ALREADY helping us, and thereby make it easier to receive his help, because we are already looking for it.3. The third step is to HAVE QUIET TIME TO GET TO KNOW GOD. This goes beyond repetitive “prayer.” In fact, God wants us to talk to Him freely with our natural voice & thought patterns. We don’t need to always be kneeling or closing our eyes when we talk to Him, though I do enjoy closing my eyes, as I commune with Him in the morning. Rest assured that you can talk to God freely, always. So start your day with Him. And Remind yourself that He is your Father God, and that You are his dear Son or Daughter. Thank Him that He is with you & guiding you. And then remind yourself to have a moment of “Quiet,” so that God can fill you with His peace, healing & direction. This doesn’t have to take long. For me, even 2-5 minutes of quiet at the end of a 15 minute prayer time with God, has transformed my life. My morning time with God only takes 15-20 minutes, and yet it helps me to feel restored & recharged by Him. Within that time, I remind myself who God is & who I am in His eyes. Even if I have a busy day, a 2-5 minute moment with God will still make all the difference. I encourage you to include these steps, as a part of your life, to make time for God daily. I have always loved God, but didn’t always know how to connect & commune with Him on a daily basis. Ever since I started to make QUIET TIME with God each day, it has made all the difference in my life. It helps me to feel RESTORED by God, even if I didn’t sleep well the night before. It helps me start the day “NEW” with God, to FORGIVE MYSELF & to FORGIVE OTHERS & to allow them to have a NEW start in life, as well. Understanding that God is with each of us, helps me to realize that with God’s help, we all growing closer to Him, bit by bit. This helps me to be more kind & to trust that we are all on the path to God. This has helped my relationships to deepen & to grow in beautiful ways. As I REMEMBER who God is, it helps me to REMEMBER who I truly am, and this helps me to have MORE JOY, STRENGTH, & DIRECTION IN LIFE. My capacity to BE LOVING & KIND continues to GROW, and this has made all the difference. May you come to REMEMBER who you truly are. With 2-3 cans of Spray paint, & a little prep work, you can easily spray paint the rims of your car, along with your windshield wipers! This project made our OLD VAN LIKE NEW, and made driving much more enjoyable, as our car brought SMILES to everyone! It also made it easy for our kids to SEE when I picked them up in our car, and it made it easy for me to FIND our car in the parking lot! Enamel spray paint is best to use. Painting on the metal rim is better & stronger than painting on the plastic rim covers. Painting on the plastic rim covers is not as durable, and will chip & scratch easily. Make sure you allow yourself 2-3 days without driving, so that the rims can dry. Allow 5-7 days if you plan to do everything. If you only have a weekend, then do what you can, and then the next weekend do a little more. If you only spray one color to your tires, it will be faster, & if you only plan to spray your windshield wipers, that will also be pretty fast. Or just add the eyelashes for a QUICK & EASY addition, which will make all the difference & BRING SMILES to EVERYONE & make your day! But that’s okay, just as a caterpillar turns into a butterfly, we all need to grow, and to let each other grow as well. We started this project 5 years ago in October 2016. This is a sequel to our Sunshine Day video that was filmed in 2009, and posted in 2012. I’m happy to finally post this video a couple days after my birthday, which makes it a gift for me, to share with you. When we recorded this video, our youngest Son Nova was just graduating from Elementary School & about to enter Intermediate. His voice was starting to change, and we remembered this fun song from The Brady Bunch, which we loved, and wanted to make a cover of.At the time of recording this video, Sara was in her Junior year; Rey’ had just graduated from High School, and Skye was about to go on a 2 year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ, to Salt Lake City, Utah. It was definitely a time of change for all of us. Now Nova is a Senior in High School, and he has the lowest voice in our family, as he sings bass. Sara just returned from her mission to New Zealand & then transferred to Provo, Utah after Covid closed New Zealand’s borders. She is currently in her 2nd year of college. Rey’ is working at The Cheese Cake Factory as a Server, and Skye continues to hone in on his music & video editing skills. He helped to fine tune this video, to make it as flawless as could be. (Thank you Skye, for helping me when I got it to 98% completed, to clean up some green screen specs & to adjust the glow a bit, and to make it so Rey's pants didn't have a moiré effect. Now it looks just as I hoped it to be). Me & Skye, are always working on some kind of creative video or music project, which makes things fun. Nova is often drawing & playing piano, Sara is often singing & recording, and Rey' is often playing the guitar. And Mark plays the piano as well, so, as a family, we’re always learning & growing, and becoming our best. In our family, while we are united, we do have differences which make us unique as individuals. And it’s more than okay to have those differences. We’ve come to realize that we don’t always have to agree, and that we all have super hero qualities inside us that makes us who we are & helps us to be a blessing wherever we are. We believe that God is our Heavenly Father, and that everyone is His family. That means that we have God’s amazing love inside us, which means that we all have something beyond amazing inside us, the potential to become more like Him, to see with His loving eyes, & to love with His unconditional love.Understanding that God loves us & is our Father will bring us strength because when we know that God is for us, & that He’s our loving Father, we can know that nothing & no one is stronger than He is. So, it doesn’t matter if things don’t look like they are working out, just know that you can put your trust in God. And when challenges come, & they will come, we need to remember, that “God IS with us, and He is helping us to fight all battles & to make our crooked places straight.” That statement alone can help us to keep the faith, even in hard challenging times.May God help us to know that no matter what, He loves us, He is with us, & He is helping us, and that with Him, we are forever blessed. 🔷A HAPPY MARRiAGE IS.Possible jAckie messenger 2021-07-29 | Deciding to get married, is not like deciding if you will go to the prom together. Marriage is not a pretty wedding dress & a tuxedo, which easily leads to a happily ever after. Marriage is tough. Marriage is challenging. Marriage takes work, no matter how long you are married. But rest assured that it is worth all that effort. When you are trying to decide to marry or not, be prayerful about it. Ask God to help you to see how that person truly is. If it is right, God will speak peace to your heart. If it isn't God's best for you, you will not feel peace. In your courtship, look to see how they treat their parents & their siblings. If a male treats his Mom with kindness & care, or if a woman treats her Dad with love & respect, this can be a good indicator of how they will treat you. Choosing to marry someone with the same core beliefs as you, is vital, as once you have kids together, you don't want them having to choose between you, which church they will go to. While opposites often attract, the more similarities that you have, the better you will be able to feel like you are both on the same side, verses opposite sides. If you have similar tastes in food & entertainment, you will be able to share such things on a daily & weekly basis. Being able to work together, is also very important. Working together helps to make burdens light. It is also important to be able to both play & pray together. This will help to give balance to the stresses of life. Keep in mind that when you get married, the first year will most likely be tough, as you both try to find your place in the relationship. It's easy for guys to expect the women to cook & clean up. Talk about these things before & after marriage, so that you can appreciate each other's efforts & contributions. Something that helped us in our marriage, is that we said no matter what, we would never consider divorce as an option. This helped us both to know that even when we had misunderstandings, that we would strive to hold our relationship together. Something that also helped, was to realize that men & women really do see & think differently. Once we realized this, then it wasn't a matter of who is right, it was just different ways of doing things. Another thing that helped, was to realize that telling each other all the times they messed up, doesn't help. While you may think it will help you to "win" an argument, it puts you both on opposing teams, which is not a good set up. None of us are perfect. We all have rough days. It's helpful to note that the days around a full moon, can make anyone "agitated." Giving each other a clean slate each day has really helped our relationship, as well as just being kind & considerate to each other. The enemy would like nothing more than to cause contention in any relationship. After all, this is the core of the family, which the enemy would like to fall apart. Just knowing this, can help us to be kind & to make time for each other, which will strengthen the bonds of love & friendship. If your relationship is struggling, it usually means you haven't spent much time together, so make time together a priority. Remind yourself why you got married in the first place, and learn to see & magnify all the good in each other, and to diminish the rough edges. After all, we all have them, but God is not finished with us yet. Today we celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary. We still need to work on making time to share together. We still have to remind ourselves to be kind to each other. We still have to be careful during a full moon. I rehearsed such questions as, why did this happen? Why did it happen to me? This type of mental "chewing" made me feel down & made it so that I couldn't let go, or to go forward. When I learned that sometimes we need to put our biggest questions into a folder called, "The I don't understand it File," and to give that over to God, it helped me to trust God more fully in my life. Handing those things over to God helped me to let go of those things that were only holding me back. We all have questions, but we need to be careful that we don't put a question mark where God has put a period. If you want to make a faux fireplace without much cost, keep your eye out for shelves, end tables, or TV stands; These would be perfect to make a fireplace; Drawers would make great fireplace inserts & Desk pieces would be useful, in case you need some extra wood for your project. Legs from tables or bunk beds would make great candelabras. Regarding candles, I recommend battery operated candles for safely. Please be careful with those power tools & enjoy the process; Creativity is a joy in itself.
