Euphonium series again. There are sad moments, antagonizing moments, happy moments, even romantic moments (I don't mean between Tsukamoto and Kumiko), yet all of those emotions feel so real. There are also so many characters, but Kyoto Animation really did a great job at making each of them come alive.In this piano arrangement, the first part focuses on recreating the sound of the wind instruments in the original song. The second part is a bit more virtuosic. For the last chorus, I decided to change keys to E-flat major, which is the key from the main Euphonium soundtrack theme "Hibike! Euphonium". It is not the type of music that I usually listen to. The vocals for the most part are not melodic and just spoken words.After I listened to the song for a bit, I realized it primarily revolves around just two chords, A minor and E major, which happened to align perfectly with the iconic theme from Paganini's Caprice No. 24. I decided to try using the Caprice's materials as the backbone to piece this piano cover together. Many composers in the past have drawn inspiration from the caprice's iconic theme to create timeless masterpieces. One of them was Rachmaninoff, who composed the beautiful Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini.Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini and Paganini's Caprice No. 24 provided the perfect inspiration for this experimental fusion. Throwing every bit of caution out the window, I clumsily arranged this cover in a few hours' time. What you're seeing now is the result. In a sense, this piano cover is also rhapsody - the whimsical and short fragments of the two classical music pieces intertwining with the riffs of the hyper-modern song that is Bling-Bang-Bang-Born.Maybe you will like it, maybe you will not.
