Doing the first 3D model of the Sidewheel Steamer Detroit sits in 215 feet of water off Port Austin Michigan This was shot July 4th 2022 in Lake Huron when temps were just 38f detrees on the bottom and 55f on the surface. It took 3 dives with 35 minutes of bottom time each and a total run of 90 minutes each with decompression to capture around 5000 high resolution images to be used to create this model. Great Lakes Wreck Diving Teaser Becky Kagan Schott 2022-11-09 | In July 2022 Becky Kagan Schott and her team were the first to create a 3D model of the Sidewheel Steamer Detroit. The Detroit sank in 1854 in a collision and has been on the bottom of Lake Huron since. It was discovered by shipwreck hunter David Trotter and first sketched by Marine Artist Robert McGreevy. Polar diving gear configuration for Antarctica scuba diving Becky Kagan Schott 2022-09-21 | Polar diving gear configuration for Antarctica and Arctic scuba diving Using a H Valve thats DIN on a single steel tank you want your regulators set up as below and remember first and second stages that are made for cold water and ice diving is the best choice to avoid freeflows. I personally use Apeks MTX-R's and they should be DIN First stages. Right Post should have primary second stage on standard size hose, low pressure inflator hose for your BC. Left Post should have your backup second stage or octo andIi prefer to wear mine on a necklace. Hose size can vary but i use 22-24in hose. You will also want a low pressure hose for drysuit. and your pressure gage or transmitter on this side. I also highly recommend trying this out before heading to the Arctic or Antarctica ahead of time to ensure it's all working properly and you're comfortable in the gear. I usually use a 5ft hose on my primary regulator but because we are diving from ribs/zodiacs they get entangled and it's not needed for diving to 60ft in open water in this environment. Its better to have a standard size hose that doesn't get caught on the rib or crushed when pull aboard and there is a lot of gear. I hope this helps! Diving Crystal Caves in Abaco Bahamas Becky Kagan Schott 2022-05-03 | One of the most magical places under earth is hidden deep underground. The Crystal Caves of Abaco Bahamas have left me almost breathless since the first time I got to see them in 2011. I’ve been for several documentaries but never on my own to shoot these stunning caves for fun. Anyone who’s dived with Brian Kakuk knows how he strives to protect this fragile environment and for good reason. The delicate crystals in places can never be replaced if broken. Following him is almost as mesmerizing as the cave. Watching him effortlessly glide through narrow passageways and twist and turn around fragile decorations is both incredible and terrifying knowing I have a camera and have to do the same maneuver behind him. The water is gin clear it’s like flying through air in a maze of tunnels. I had such fun with Brian and Rick Witter diving this trip. The video clips are in no order. They were mostly unplanned and just trying to capture a few shots that will never do the cave justice because when you see it in person it can bring tears to your eyes. Mother nature outdid herself here. The shades of red, orange, yellow and pink from the Saharan dust inside the crystals, crystal pools, crystal roses, frozen rain, 12,000 year old bat skeletons entombed in the crystal, ribbons that are almost translucent and so much more. I can’t wait to return but until then enjoy just a small teaser from both Dans and Ralphs Caves in Abaco. Isle Royale Shipwrecks Lake Superior Congdon Stern Emperor Chisholm Cumberland Glenlyon Kamloops Becky Kagan Schott 2022-05-01 | Isle Royale is a beautiful island in Lake Superior that is a National Park. Topside you see fox, moose, bald eagles and if you're lucky a wolf. Underwater there are at least 10 shipwrecks that have met their fate there. The lack of mussels in Lake Superior make these ships appear as if they sank yesterday because you can see painted wood, artifacts including shoes, bunks, light bulbs still intact and boxes of preserved lifesavers from almost 100 years ago. Shipwrecks in this video include the Congdon Stern, SS Emperor, Chisholm, Cumberland, Cox, Glenlyon and SS Kamloops. SS Kamloops Shipwreck Lake Superior 2021 Becky Kagan Schott 2022-04-30 | The S.S. Kamloops sank in December 1927 in Isle Royale Michigan. It was located in 1977 in 200-270 feet of water on it's starboard side. The ship was carrying a mixed cargo of lifesavers, toothpaste, fencing, tar paper, matches, shoes and many other goods. The cargo holds are still full of cargo preserved in the cold fresh water. Unfortunately no one survived. Those who did survive the sinking died of exposure on land. One stewardess wrote a message that was later found in a bottle saying "I am the last one left alive, freezing and starving to death on Isle Royale in Lake Superior. I just want mom and dad to know my fate." The engineer's corpse is still inside the engine room. Antarctic Leopard seal Becky Kagan Schott 2021-01-22 | In February 2020 while on an expedition to Antarctica we had an incredible encounter with a curious Leopard Seal. Known as one of Antarcticas apex predators this seal took an interest in the snorkelers around it for 90 minutes! It zipped around under the ice as we awkwardly pushed chunky bits of bergs away with our heads trying to keep an eye on the fast moving seal! It was one of the most memorable underwater experiences of my life and of my 26 years of diving. I can't wait to return again. Brig Sandusky Shipwreck 3D model Great Lakes Becky Kagan Schott 2021-01-21 | 3D Models for Sale: This is a unique and exact replica of the shipwreck Sandusky and the way it looked in July 2020. 1700 images were used to produce the 3D model found here sketchfab.com/BeckyKaganSchott/models and from that this model was made. At this time there are no other models like this making it very unique. The Brig Sandusky is located in the Straits of Mackinac Shipwreck Preserve in Lake Michigan. The Sandusky was a wooden two-masted Brig built in Sandusky Ohio in 1848, it’s size was 110 x 26 x 9 and while carrying grain from Chicago to Buffalo In September 1856 it sank during a strong gale Three of her crew clung to a mast that was still sticking up out of the water above the waves but the rescue attempt failed and the men were lost with the entire crew. The Sandusky It’s located in 85 feet of water in Lake Michigan and is the oldest known shipwreck in the Preserve. The ship still has an intact bow sprit with jib boom and underneath it is a replica scroll figurehead. There is a wood stock anchor on the starboard rail and one on the lake bottom, tiller, windless, centerboard winch, bilge pumps, deadeyes and much more. The topmast sits on the port rail down to the lakebed which can also be seen on the model. Your model was made with love and dedication for keeping the history and stories of these shipwrecks alive. Our passion for Great Lakes shipwrecks runs deep and we hope you’ll enjoy your model. MT Haven Shipwreck Italy Becky Kagan Schott 2020-05-09 | MT Haven was an 1100 foot long oil tanker that exploded off the coast of Arenzano Italy in 1991. It caught fire and there were several more explosions that killed several crewmen. Because the ship was 7 miles offshore it was difficult to fight the fire so it was towed closer. As it was being towed a section broke off and sank then the remaining part of the stern sank into 260 feet of water. Today the top of the bridge is in 90ft making this a popular recreational to technical dive site just a few miles offshore.Swimming through the wreck you can see the walls buckled from the heat and fires that burned for almost 3 days. There is a lot of superstructure to swim through at all levels and it's very open on the inside. The visibility was well over 100ft and it's turned into a giant artificial reef. This was shot during an incredibly fun Divesoft Instructor Summit in October 2019 with Liberty Rebreather Instructors from all over the world diving both backmount and sidemount. Traveling with the Liberty Sidemount Rebreather CCR Becky Kagan Schott 2020-05-06 | This is how i pack my Divesoft Liberty Sidemount rebreather. The entire thing fits inside a pelican air case (without cylinders). the canister, loop, lung, head, tools, and even my bailout regulator. The entire box only weights 22kg or 48lbs which is perfect for airlines! I've even put inine valves in there if i've needed to travel with valves. Divesoft also has a travel card to put in so TSA knows what they are looking at. I've personally used something like this for the past 13 years so that TSA knows it's a rebreather used for scuba diving and it's life support.

Great Lakes Shipwrecks Lake Huron & Georgian Bay Becky Kagan Schott 2020-03-31 | My favorite shot is the very last shot at the end (so you have to watch all the way through darn) It's of the Cornelia B. Windiate one of the wrecks i like to dive most in the lakes. The visibility was so good that day you could see end to end on the 139 foott long ship in 190 feet of water. Pretty amazing. The Great Lakes are my favorite place to dive on the planet and if you watch this video you'll see why. There are thousands of shipwrecks in the Great Lakes from Schooners to Wooden Freighters, Ferries, Trains, Paddlewheelers and huge Steel Freighters. These ships sank due to ice, fire, collisions and fierce storms. Many have sat on the bottom for over a century and diving them is like transporting yourself back in time. In this video you'll see the newly discovered wreck SS Manasoo in the Georgian Bay, wrecks from Tobermory Canada including the Sweepstakes, Arabia, and Niagara II and shipwrecks from the US side of Lake Huron including the Typo, Windiate, Twin Ferries and SS Florida. Great Lakes Diving the Straits of Mackinac Shipwrecks Becky Kagan Schott 2020-03-31 | The Straits of Mackinac is an area between Michigans lower peninsula and upper peninsula. The Mackinac Bridge connects the land and on one side of the bridge is Lake Michigan and on the other side is Lake Huron. The area has many shipwreck gems below the surface. The schooner William Young, Eber Ward, Brig Sandusky and the freighter SS Cedarville and Minneapolis. All of the wrecks you see in this video are in recreational depths around 80-100ft deep. The Eber Ward is the deepest from 90ft on the deck to 145ft at the prop. There is so much to explore on all of these wrecks. Antarctica 2020 Becky Kagan Schott 2020-03-25 | The unmatched beauty of Antarctica and the feeling of being there is difficult to capture in images and hard to put into words. Whaleback S.S. Clifton Shipwreck in Great Lakes Becky Kagan Schott 2020-01-16 | The S.S. Clifton disappeared in a Lake Huron storm on September 24, 1924 while carrying a cargo of stone from Surgeon Bay to Detroit. The violet gale sank the ship with the entire crew of 28 men aboard. It is believed that it sank very fast since no bodies were found and lifeboats weren't launched. For 92 years its location was a mystery until renowned shipwreck hunter David Trotter and his team discovered the wreckage in September 2016 solving an almost century long mystery. Not many Whaleback freighters were constructed making this a very unique ship and it was one of the wrecks i wanted to get imagery of and see with my own eyes this past summer. Lake Ontario Shipwreck Petrie 2 Becky Kagan Schott 2020-01-16 | Lake Ontario Shipwreck. Diving the unidentified schooner known as the Petrie 2 in about 175ft of water off Prince Edward County, Ontario. This wreck might be one of the most intact wooden schooners i've seen in the Great Lakes. It has an intact bow sprit, anchor, two standing masts, an intact stern cabin, and wheel. It's a well kept secret and a gem of a wreck. There are no signs of how it sank and still a mystery as to its identification.

In February 1944 the United States Navy launched a large surface and air attack for 3 days called "Operation Hailstone" sinking over 40 ships, and destroying more than 275 planes. Truk was the Japanese anchorage during WWII and the USA took out merchant ships, battleships, destroyers, tankers, minesweepers, and gunboats making this area the largest shipwreck graveyard in the world. This video was shot in December 2017.
Heart Pounding Great White Shark Diving Becky Kagan Schott 2017-04-20 | My heart is still pounding from this most incredible experience diving with Great White Sharks with Rodney Fox Shark Expeditions. A big thank you to Andrew Fox for such an incredible week of shark diving and education. Not only did we see great whites face to face in a natural way cruising the kelp bottom of the Neptune Islands we also learned a lot during our 5 days out there. I'm inspired to see such dedication in documenting and extensive research over the past few decades. They have over 1000 sharks identified and new ones seen each year. I'm proud to dive with an operation that cares about the sharks and their future in Australia. This footage was shot in South Australia around a group of islands called the Neptunes. The largest colony of Fur Seals make this their home along with Australian Sea Lions, and many species of birds. Most of this footage was shot 25m deep in April 2017. Great Lakes Shipwrecks :Wooden Schooner Typo and Cornilia B. Windiate Becky Kagan Schott 2015-08-29 | Video available for Licensing: The great lakes is a graveyard for thousands of shipwrecks. Many disappeared without a trace taking the lives of all who were aboard. Many schooners sit upright in the depths of the lake. The Typo and Cornilia B. Windiate are two incredibly intact schoonrs sitting in 190ft / 58m of cold, deep water. The wooden wrecks are over 140 years old and preserved in the cold freshwater. I used a megalodon rebreather and trimix for a bottom time of 40 minutes to capture video of each of these wrecks. These are technical dives and require about 50 minutes of decompression as well. She collided with another ship in a storm and sank into the deep waters of Lake Michigan. She's been sitting upright on the bottom for 138 years and in good condition.
