Apologetics is my passion for the glory of Christ. And I would love to co-labor with you in the gospel and the truth, as we contend earnestly for the faith (Jude 1:3, Heb. 6:9-10, Gal. 6:6, 1Tim. 5:17-18, 3 John 1:8).

⚫ You're invited to join us for worship: fpchurch.org.uk/locationsRev. Joseph Alleine: Signs of a false ChristianTrinity Apologetics2024-06-01 | Are you on the way to heaven or on your way to hell?
Are you confident that you are a child of God but are self-deceived? Do you love the world and the things of the world (1 John 2:15-17) rather than Christ first (Luke 14:26)? Are you at peace with sin (Amos 6:1)? Do you wish to get away with as many things as possible and yet make it into heaven? Do you claim to love Christ, do "much" for Him, but hold back, not wishing to take your religion too far or not wishing to be fully surrendered? Are you content with your current condition, not striving for more and more holiness? Not grieving over and fighting your sin? Then your soul unconverted. You are on the broad way that leads to destruction; following the masses in doing evil (Matt. 7:13-14, Ex. 23:2); full of unbelief and gross darkness.
"Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are His. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity" (2 Tim. 2:19).
If you are a hypocrite and dead in your trespasses and sins, there is yet hope. Cry to God tonight. Flee to Christ in humble faith. Repent and believe the gospel (Mark 1:15). Call upon His name in prayer (Rom. 10:8-13). God is "good, and ready to forgive" and "plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon" Him (Ps. 86:5). Believe on the name of Christ: receive and rest upon Him alone for your salvation (John 1:12-13, Matt. 10:28-30, 1 Cor. 1:27-31).
"Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord" (Ac. 3:19).
"To Him give all the prophets witness, that through His name whosoever believeth in Him shall receive remission of sins" (Ac. 10:43).

1. He’s equal in honor and glory to the Father (John 5:23); even worshipped outside all creation in Rev. 5:11-14 2. He’s the centre of Christianity: the object of our faith, hope, love, worship, devotion, service and countless more acts of the people of God 3. He wrote the Lamb’s book of life from creation (Revelation 17:8) and is therefore coeternal with the Father and sharer in Divine election 4. Paul constantly implied that Jesus was MORE than a man; greater and distinct from Adam and David in their natures etc. 5. Only an infinite and everlasting Person can pay an infinite and everlasting price (Psa. 49:7-9, 15; 130:3; Nah. 1:6, Mark 9:45-46, Matt. 25:41, 46, Luke 22:42 cf. Psa. 75:8, Jer. 25:15, Rev. 14:10)
Give your heart and life to this blessed and glorious Redeemer: be justified by faith alone and have peace with God forever (Romans 3, 4, 5). ____________________________________________________________

⚫ You're invited to join us for worship: fpchurch.org.uk/locationsIs Protestantism “new”?Trinity Apologetics2024-02-10 | Were there "Protestants" before the Reformation? Were there reformers before Luther and Calvin who believed in very similar doctrines?
It is a common charge by Roman Catholics and Eastern Orthodox that Protestants have a "made-up church" with modern doctrines and false worship from only 500 years ago. Yet their charge is completely fallacious and they ironically embrace many dogmas that came centuries after the apostles (e.g. icon veneration, absolution through the priestly confessional, an "infallible" church). There has always been a remnant of true believers (Romans 11:1-6) who embraced the basic gospel of salvation by grace alone through the work of Christ as well as the principle behind Sola Scriptura. The Church of Jesus Christ has NEVER died or been conquered (Matt. 16:18), even if our beloved predecessors have been slain with the sword and burned at the stake over and over throughout Church history by devilish tyrants.
Luther brilliantly said: “Well,” they say, “we papists have remained in the ancient and original church ever since the time of the apostles. Therefore we are the true church, for we have come from the ancient church and have remained in it; but you have fallen away from us and have become a new church opposed to us.” Answer: “But what if I prove that we have remained faithful to the true ancient church, indeed, that we are the true ancient church and that you have fallen away from us, that is, the ancient church, and have set up a new church against the ancient one?” Let us hear that!' Does James REALLY contradict the Protestant view? James 2:14 clearly proves that James is addressing a CLAIM and BOAST of faith; and in the following verses that we're not saved through a dead, empty profession of faith.
James quotes from Genesis 15:6 in James 2:23 where Abraham was already righteous by faith many years before he offered Isaac (James 2:21). The offering FULFILLS and PROVES his righteousness by faith alone. We are imputed as righteous by faith but declared righteous by works. Works proves a genuine faith.

"But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak. For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister." (Hebrews 6:9-10, KJV)

Do you truly have a godly and reverential awe of God and His majesty, beauty and holiness? Do you have a profound and deep respect for Him and His ways? Are you afraid of Him--not out of slavish fear, dread, despair or punishment--but to offend and displease Him because you adore Him and desire to honour His Name?
Apologetics is my passion for the glory of Christ. And I would love to co-labor with you in the gospel and the truth, as we contend earnestly for the faith (Jude 1:3, Heb. 6:9-10, Gal. 6:6, 1Tim. 5:17-18, 3 John 1:8).

⚫ You're invited to join us for worship: fpchurch.org.uk/locationsNo Fap Forever (Day 17): what is sin?Trinity Apologetics2023-11-17 | Sin is transgression of the Law of God (1 John 3:4). It is rebellion and treachery against the King of heaven and earth (Deut. 9:7). It is saying to Christ, "I will not have this Man to reign over me" (Luke 19:14). It is striking at the goodness and justice of God (Gen. 6:5-6, Isaiah 63:10). It is an act of atheism, unbelief, pride and idolatry (Col. 3:5-6, Heb. 11:6). It is telling God to leave you alone and to get out of your life. Sins are the works of the devil (1 John 3:8).
Sin is high treason against the Crown of Heaven and an infinite evil against an infinite God. How can we play around with something so vile, dishonourable and dangerous? How can we live to please the devil by doing his works? O how filthy and stained we are! Let us go continually to the fountain of living water opened to sinners (Zech. 13:1). Let us be born of water and of the Spirit (John 3:5, Eze. 36:25-27)!

But I fear that many are still asleep at the wheel and neglecting their souls through many acts of folly and worldliness. Take heart and go to the blood of Christ.
"Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward; HOW SHALL WE ESCAPE, IF WE NEGLECT SO GREAT SALVATION?" (Hebrews 2:1-3).

Much music and cinema only feed your flesh and help your lustful corruptions. Forsake anything that displeases the Lord and tends towards laxity and carnality. Do it not simply to get rid of pornography, but to glorify and enjoy God.
"Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world . . . Are we to be indecent, uncivilised and vulgar like witless animals? Are you fleeing to a slaughter house like a sheep making itself ripe and fattened for the occasion (Jam. 5:5)?

⚫ You're invited to join us for worship: fpchurch.org.uk/locationsNo Fap Forever (Day 11): worse than homosexualityTrinity Apologetics2023-11-11 | Your sin of pornography is worse than homosexuality. It is worse than the sin of unbelievers who have never heard the gospel. For you sin against so much light, knowledge and grace. It is worse than death. It is even worse to God than hell. Hell is God's just and glorious judgment of the wicked (Isaiah 5:16, Romans 9:22-24, Rev. 20:10, 21:8) but sin is the highest injustice, burden and insult to Him (Isa. 1:14, Amos 2:13, Galatians 6:7). God does not afflict or punish willingly (Lam. 3:33, Eze. 18:32) but grieves over sin (Gen. 6:5-6, Psalm 78:40, Isa. 63:10). Sin is the most dangerous thing in all the universe.
How can you play around with sin in light of these facts? How can you treat it so lightly? How can you keep drinking this poison?

This so-called simple sin can and will claim your life if you go on in it (Rom. 6:1-2, 8:13, Luke 13:3). No adulterer inherits the kingdom (1 Cor. 6:9-10). Stop laying with harlots in your heart! Stop being a spiritual whoremonger! You have no idea how dangerous this sin is. Your life and soul is in great peril but you act like it’s no big deal.
“Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity” (2 Tim. 2:19).
To not depart from this great evil is to carry the name of Christ upon you in vain: to bring great dishonour and shame to His sweet Name.

"Of all the means of grace, there is none which is more valuable than prayer" - J.W. Alexander
Neglecting solemn and reverent prayer with Scripture reading, morning and evening, is a sure way to lose this war against lust. If you are not filling your mind and heart with the communion, love and truth of God how can you kill ANY sinful habit? How can you GROW at all? If you're not filling your mind and heart with the communion, love and truth of God, WHAT are you filling your mind and heart with?
Remember, the moment you feel ANY sinful inclination or desire, go to God in prayer. Go without delay and sincerely pray against it.

One of your chief duties as a Christian is to be fighting and killing sin. Sin will never leave you alone in this life. You must war therefore everyday. The awakened believer knows and understands the struggle and the high importance of completely relying on God and His power to be preserved through faith (1 Peter 1:3-5) and kept from all evil (Psalm 121:7). Fight and fight, using the means that God has appointed to this end. Be diligent and watchful. You can never win this war alone.

As the Lord Jesus taught clearly in Matthew 5, you must take extreme measures to avoid every form of evil that may drag you to hell. Avoid even the occasions and tendencies of sin (e.g. Proverbs 5:8). Whether it is immodest music, crude TV shows and movies, tactless clips and memes, books and articles and, yes, even ungodly friends and places. Anything that causes you to stumble, to become spiritually lazy or distracted, that may even lead to lust, CAST THEM ALL AWAY. Do you really need them? Do you want them more than Christ? Is Christ not enough?

Will you choose life or death? Heaven or hell? Holiness or evil? If you don't forsake this sin--not for a month, not for a year--but FOREVER, it will drag you to hell. Lust can never be satisfied. It will want more and more. It won't be content with one woman or many. With one "session" or many. It will keep taking and taking until you bleed your soul to death. Go to Christ for washing and power. Go to Him for blessing and grace. He will gladly receive anyone who truly repents.
"What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:21-23).

Are you constantly turning your back on the chiefest joy: the glorious and risen King? Are you a lukewarm and "almost" Christian?
"Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord" (Acts 3:19).
I will be starting a 30-part series starting tomorrow called NO FAP FOREVER. Each will be scheduled in the morning of American time. I would implore each of you to go through it day by day from Day 1 to Day 30. It is ultimately a series about holiness and a high standard of Christianity. The world is infected with a laxed and compromised Christianity. We must strive and be zealous (Luke 13:24, Rev. 3:19, Titus 2:14). Even if you don't struggle with lust, this series is suitable for you.
The purpose:
1. It is not simply the giving up of pornography and masturbation for a month or even forever 2. To lead you away from destruction. This sin will destroy you if you go on embracing it 3. To awaken you to fight everyday and take extreme measures. Turn off or throw away anything that leads you towards lust whether it's Netflix, Instagram, immodest music etc. 4. Your goal: to kill ALL sin for the glory of God. Don't just kill pornography. Endeavour against all evil which God hates. Fully rely on the blood, grace and Spirit of Christ (Romans 5:1-11).
And remember:
“In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death” (Prov. 12:28).

What does this amount to for Joseph and their "marriage"? Are we expected to believe that they were merely friends and there was no romance or love-story between them even though they were husband and wife? This is not only abnormal but unnatural and unhealthy (Hebrews 13:4, 1 Cor. 7:1-9). Did Joseph never get to consummate his own marriage? If he loved Mary romantically, would it be evil of him to act on it? Well, the evidence in Scripture is highly convincing that he indeed did (e.g. Matt. 1:24-25, 13:54-56, Mark 6:3, Gal. 1:19).

The Protestant doctrine of justification is extremely beautiful and Christ-centred. ALL glory goes to the Person and work of Christ in our right standing in the sight of God. God in His infinite holiness cannot accept anything less than perfect righteousness. And so, Christ's righteousness is the WHOLE SUM of what we need to fulfil God's perfect and righteous standard. It must COVER us and our evil. His righteousness is SUFFICIENT. Receive it by faith alone (Phil. 3:9, Rom. 3:28, 4:1-8).

Scripture alone is the one infallible rule of faith given and preserved by God to His Church. The Bible fixes a timeless and solid standard. Oral tradition is unreliable and speculative at best. All unwritten traditions must bow down to the TRUE apostolic deposit.

To go back to types and shadows in the Old Covenant worship? To justify bowing down to statues and icons because God commanded certain art on the Ark of the Covenant or in the temple/tabernacle? Is this a valid parallel or extremely different?

Smith of the Free Presbyterian Church of Scotland preaches on John 6:34-40. Sabbath, July 23, 2023 (Auckland, New Zealand).
Reading: John 6:1-52
"Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread. And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not. All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day." John 6:34-40
The three points of his sermon:
1.) The warning of unbelief 2.) The certainty of salvation 3.) The free offer of Christ
