In this hands-on demo, fine art portrait photographer Justin Piccari breaks down how to build intentional color palettes using a focused set of gels.
Learn how to match tones, craft cohesive monochromatic looks, and move past generic color choices to create mood-driven, gallery-worthy images straight out of camera.
Justin Picarri is an internationally award-winning and published fine art portrait photographer. He focuses on the art of the capture, creating as much in the frame as possible from small styled details to color and lighting. Justin’s love for practical effects are a process of constant exploration in different techniques, adding realism to each capture and leaving retouching for adding to and perfecting what already exists in the image. He loves being creatively pushed and is in constant search of new ideas. In addition to being an ambassador for Rosco Labs, Justin’s love of using colors goes back to his starts in professional photography, using tones and hue to convey moods to add to the purpose of each shot as a main tone or detail. Art history is always one of Justin’s loves and inspirations. In his free time when he’s not making art, he’s most likely drinking coffee and thinking about art.

__________________________________ THANKS SO MUCH FOR WATCHING!How Photographers Can Get Their Work Shown with Deborah Gilbert | Adorama Event SpaceAdorama Events2025-08-06 | So, you have created a body of work; now what?
If you have ever wanted to exhibit your photography, to try to make some sales by taking your work directly to the public, but felt frustrated by the gallery world gate-keepers, why not learn to jump the gate-keepers’ turnstile by mounting an exhibition of your own?
Yes, it takes the same kind of effort, thought, and creativity as it took to build your body of work, but it is doable — so why not try?
This event will cover all the things you’ll need to consider and do, from soup to nuts, to create a photo exhibition of your own — and bring qualified buyers through the doors to see your work.
In this presentation Deborah Gilbert will cover the practicalities of how to organize a group of photographers (or do a show on your own), setting goals and a timeline, utilizing a gallery or alternative venues, how to create your marketing plan, handle publicity and advertising, budgeting, finances and pricing, what to have together before you schedule a date, what to have ready to meet the public, and ways of presenting your work.
And don’t think that exhibitions are only for fine art photographers! Even if the genre you work in is weddings or headshots, or any other kind of commercial photography, knowing how to produce a public exhibition of your work can be a great tool to have in your marketing toolbox. We will discuss these as well.
Deborah Gilbert is an award-winning photographer, writer and event producer whose photos have appeared in The New York Times, Parade, and many other publications around the world.
For over twenty years she utilized art fairs to market her work. She has also been a Photo Editor with Image Bank, and a clown with Ringling Bros & Barnum & Bailey Circus (all jobs that are more alike than they are different!) She began producing large scale and small scale charity events in high school, and since that time has expanded into experiential marketing events.
She has produced over twelve hundred events of every description for both non-profit organizations and for-profit companies — the vast majority being photography events, including two dozen photography group exhibitions. Her favorite side hustle has been writing articles and cheeky episode recaps of British TV shows for PBS Thirteen-WNET, (if you got to Thirteen.org and search her name you’ll see them pop up!) She created and publishes the free weekly e-newsletter, Develop, which is about all things photography.

During college, he interned for two legendary NYC photographers, Joe McNally and Danny Clinch. After finishing school, Joe offered him a job as his first assistant. Five years and half a million air miles later, he moved to Brooklyn, New York, to pursue his passion head-on.
Since that time, Drew has had the privilege of photographing some of the world’s most iconic figures- from Yo-Yo Ma and Alicia Keys to Sir Richard Branson and Quincy Jones.
Whether orchestrating a large production or working alongside a motion crew, he loves the collaborative process of creating memorable images that capture the authentic spirit of his subjects- whether celebrities or everyday people.

You’ll see exactly how he approaches any lighting situation with confidence and a plan.
This is more than gear talk, it’s about mindset, systems, and being truly prepared so nothing catches you off guard. When preparation meets excellence, let’s go.
Photographer, educator, and storyteller with 40+ years of experience capturing everything from presidential campaigns to iconic celebrity weddings.
"I've been a professional photographer for over 40 years, and my journey began back in high school as the editor of my newspaper. That early passion led me to Columbia College, where I was named College Photographer of the Year. This honor paved the way for a full-time position at the Daily Southtown newspaper in Chicago and a 14-year career at the Chicago Sun-Times.
Photography has always been more than just a job for me; it's been my passport to the world, granting me a front-row seat to history. I've had the privilege of covering monumental events, from presidential elections to Michael Jordan's legendary career with the Chicago Bulls. My work has taken me around the globe, capturing weddings, human interest stories, corporate events, and celebrity portraits.
Today, I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to document the most significant moments in my clients' lives. I've had the honor of photographing the weddings of Eva Longoria and Tony Parker, Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds, Salma Hayek and François-Henri Pinault, La La Vasquez and Carmelo Anthony, The Bachelorette's Ashley Herbert and J.P. Rosenbaum, and many memorable events for Oprah Winfrey.
Reflecting on my career, which includes numerous accolades and projects for major publications like Time, Newsweek, and Sports Illustrated, I am filled with gratitude. My passion for photography continues to be my driving force. As a partner in Bob & Dawn Davis Photography & Design, I have the joy and honor of capturing some of the most high-profile events and weddings worldwide.
I am happily married to Dawn Davis, and together we have two wonderful children, Bobby and Alli. Photography is not just my profession—it's my passion and a source of immense joy. It's the way I tell stories and capture the essence of life's most unforgettable moments."
