I am not good at this game. I am just demonstrating to show how well it runs on a C128 with SuperCPU 128. Emu had to throttle the game back so it doesn't play too fast. Even without a SuperCPU the game plays BETTER on VDC (80 column) than in 40 column mode (Vic-II). So much for the "VDC can't do graphics an certainly can't do action based games".
It has always been difficult to capture VDC video output. I've done it, including some of my earliest videos here, but things haven't gotten easier. My old capture hardware refuses to run under Win 8/9/10/11. My new capture hardware so far is not even worth using with VDC output. I've captured this with a smart phone, which is not ideal. I'm going to look into higher end capture hardware for retro devices. If you have suggestions, I'm all ears.

One thing I failed to mention in the video is that the 128D in yesterday's video has an 8580 SID. The C64 in today's video has a 6581 SID. Any differences in music and overall sound are likely because the difference SID revisions.

I found it has problems on NTSC, so I am showing on a real PAL machine here (8580 SID). I also found out it poops the bed with SD2IEC and even a real 1541 with SuperCard+ (extra RAM for 1541). To play on a real C64 you need:
PAL C64
SuperCPU
1541 (unmodified)

Only 2 animations playing here. First one you can pause, speed up or slow down. Second one you can't do anything. I'd expect more but that's it. I tried on both PAL and NTSC, no change though I get a couple minor glitches on NTSC. I guess that's it? I let it play for a while for the music.

Officially you need a 35k RAM expansion for the original Vic20. I had no problem running on my Commodore 64 with Turbo Chameleon as shown.
This was released 10 years ago in 2013. I'm not the first to post gameplay video, but probably the first to show playing on a C64. I've ben aware of the port but this is the first time I actually sat and played it.

I say 1983 in the video because the manual has a copyright of 1983. Elsewhere like Lemon64 references 1982. Anyone know for sure? I'm guessing maybe programmed in 82 but released in 83?
