We used the original AI isolated drum track (using Moises.ai) that I enhanced with some EZDrummer samples. We also didn't use any reverb on the vocals as opposed to the original. We multitracked some vocal parts to create a more chorus-like vibe on some parts and to make it sound a tad bit more modern instead."Trail of Tears" is probably not Gates of Ishtar's biggest hit, more like a deep-cut actually, and also not their most technical song. I really like the mesmerizing repetitive riffing, the arrangements and the sad atmosphere the song creates, so I just wanted to do it anyway.My Japanese friend Deathmetalvoicer was so kind to impersonate Mikael Sandorf and did an amazing job with it.
