GMA Network - Where You Belong Jingle (1988 - pitch-corrected) DJ Saunders 2025-02-28 | This one originally comes from ARCHIVE Sounds' copy, which appears to be a studio master from JAM Creative Productions. I shifted the pitch and slightly adjusted the speed in Adobe Audition to better match how the jingle sounded like on GMA itself upon signing on around this time. As for why you're seeing the "tunestotube" watermark on my video, I figured this would be quicker and easier to use tunestotube for audio-only uploads as opposed to rendering a separate video with the audio and the image in editing software.
Jeopardy Productions/KingWorld/Sony Pictures Television (2004/2010s) DJ Saunders 2025-02-24 | Nothing wrong at first glance, right?Here's why I added "2010s" to it... because it's a rare case of the Sony Pictures Television logo plastering the Sony Pictures Television logo. Full 16:9 picture being used when the episode itself was 4:3.There was no need for this plaster, since you already have the SPT logo right there with its full theme playing. "Jeopardy!" has used the 3-second SPT logo with its respective theme before following the KingWorld logo, but not like this.
PC Prevue meets TV Guides Hollywood software from 2000 DJ Saunders 2025-02-09 | **This is for demo purposes only. This is not an official emulation video.**Based on an interesting idea that popped in my head while I was in the Prevue Guide Forums' Discord server.The 2000 version of the TV Guide Channel Hollywood has been found, but there's no way to emulate it without special hardware (as in, software-only means PC Prevue). There was no SWO installation of Hollywood until late 2006, when PC Prevue was finally falling out of favor (the Latino version of TV Guide didn't switch to Hollywood until early 2007). So, if you can't emulate the 2000 version of Hollywood, why not make PC Prevue look as much like the 2000 version of Hollywood as possible?
Fireworks Pictures (2001-2003) logo remake DJ Saunders 2024-12-08 | Well, here it is. A remake of a logo that no one (at least, that I can remember) has ever attempted before... until now. And for good reason. A logo like this requires a very high skill level of remaking. Not just with Blender. It also goes for software like After Effects, for example.This was the result of three weeks of hard work, which was split up into three stages: the rotoscoping, the fireworks themselves, and the logo at the end. The third part in particular required me to do a separate logo remake in between, just so I could implement that into the remake I started. With all the power required for such a remake, I had no choice but to use Adobe Media Encoder to render all of this. Using AE to render the remake by its lonesome wouldn't work, since the RAM would be depleted quickly.Software used:- After Effects 2019 (for the entire remake; Cinema 4D Lite was used for the 3D text, but that was within AE, not by itself)Please, do not steal.

T.A.T. Communications Company (1980) logo remake (UPDATED) DJ Saunders 2024-04-13 | Here's an updated version of the logo remake, based on the print logo that was found by OrdinaryBoss and messaged to angelothecascomfan2k8 in a Discord server dedicated to the T.A.T. logo search. A find that was later discovered to be illegitimate and fake.The unearthed print logo on which the "Orange Star" logo was supposedly entirely based on shows the all-caps "Distributed by" text, except it's in Windsor Bold, and the C's are serif (in Windsor Light). It also shows that there were two stars in the logo (one just outside the upper-right corner of the first "T", and another just outside the upper-left corner of the second "T"), not one, nor three. It was initially believed that it was real and represented an important step forward in one part of the search, but upon closer inspection, it was revealed that this print logo wasn't real after all, and has been taken down from the AVID Discord and (presumably) T.A.T. Logo Search Server. KTVU rerun of the 1988 TV movie "Lady Mobster."One "TVShow Lover (Year)" user posted the exact same combo at the end of August 2023, but it was from a Polish print, and the ACI logo faded out just as the animation began thanks to the Polish TV station that aired it.This copy is different from the other, however... the audio's slightly muffled (advantage... former), but the picture and color quality are more vibrant, and it's in 60fps (already digitized and deinterlaced from an interlaced 30fps picture; none of that is my doing, but I did upscale it to 1080p by way of FFMPEG). Plus, two more seconds are shown for the ACI logo before it's cut off (this time, by a commercial for... contact lenses, I suppose?).Credit goes to @SoraThePanFloof for the original AVID Discord post of said combo, which itself came from a digitized VHS tape.

Kodak Video Products (1987) DJ Saunders 2024-04-03 | Here's a rare find... the Kodak Video Products logo.This was presumably intended for use on Kodak's instructional VHS tapes, but as far as I know, there hasn't been any evidence of that in that area. However, it is seen at the beginning of LK-Tel Video's VHS tapes in Chile from 1987 until 1988 (when the company switched from Kodak video cassettes to Sony video cassettes). The early VHS releases on the Kodak video cassettes used the English version, while the other releases afterwards prior to the switch used the Spanish version of the logo after the warning screen. Nassers 1989 HIT Communications PLC logo remake (now finished) DJ Saunders 2023-12-15 | Originally made on: March 14, 2023Completed on: December 14, 2023 (Nine months to the day this was made!)This logo remake is not mine, but rather that of Ahmad Nasser (who has, if I remember correctly, left the logo community). Credit goes to him, first and foremost. He made a remake of the 1989 HIT Communications PLC logo that ultimately went unfinished. I won't tell you where I got the file, but I will tell you that I discovered he had the basics right there, but some stuff needed to be modified to make it closer to the original.Thus, I animated the lasers coming in where they were originally already there, I altered the animation of the axis parenting both the disc and the lasers (it originally went one full rotation too many), I animated the lights on the HIT model, and I animated the "Communications PLC" text.I also used @aldrinejoseph2512's disc, since with a few color modifications, it looked closer to the original, and I added a light falloff so the intensity of the lasers emit a small glow on the disc, just like in the original. I also animated the beginning animation on the disc, if doing one rotation on the disc in Blender and repeating that part twice in After Effects counts as such.And there it is... a once unfinished remake has now been finished, exactly nine months to the day this was first made (in March).Again, credit to Ahmad Nasser for the remake and Aldrine Joseph for the disc.Please, do not steal.
Discovery Music Network (ID, 1984; no audio) DJ Saunders 2023-12-11 | This interesting find comes from a 1985 Editel System IV demo reel on the Internet Archive. Head's up... aside from the tape hiss, there's no audio in this ID. What doesn't help in that regard is that there are no other places, as far as I can tell, from where the ID is other than said demo reel, so you may have to leave it up to your imagination on what the ID sounds like.Now for a bit of background: This obscure music channel, which shares no relation with the more recognizable Discovery Channel, was marketed as an alternative to the big music network and was pegged for a late 1984 launch. However, it ultimately never got off the ground because of complications with the major labels, three of which had signed exclusivity deals with MTV, and the paltry cable and TV station distribution that Discovery Music Network would've gotten.
Demonstrating (and using) Ceefax with BeebEm DJ Saunders 2023-11-13 | This piece of footage comes from @AvroVulcanXH607's Ceefax service, which uses up-to-date information (including TV and even BBC Radio listings!) taken from various sources, including the BBC News website. I highly recommend you check this out. The interactive viewer is available online by going to the Nathan Media Services website and clicking "Ceefax," or by searching "NMS Ceefax" in your search engine. You can also watch his "Pages from Ceefax" live stream.Yesterday, I demonstrated the service and the many pages it has to offer via BeebEm, the BBC Micro emulator, and this was done by way of Peter Kwan's vbit2 and ZXGuesser's teletext packet server. It's worth noting that BeebEm is not capable of displaying Level 2 or 2.5 teletext pages, so keep that in mind.Note that the VHS effect was made using NTSC-RS, a Rust port of ntscQT.(It would've been so awesome back then for teletext to catch on in the United States...)--- A LITTLE BIT ABOUT CEEFAX --Launching on the 23rd of September 1974, BBC's Ceefax (a play on "see facts") was the world's first teletext information service. Ceefax ran for 38 years before shutting down for good on the 23rd of October 2012, coinciding with the completion of the digital switchover in Northern Ireland.At the time of its launch, Ceefax was cutting-edge. The service had several hundred pages at the user's disposal, and were available to those with televisions that were capable of displaying teletext (although the users had to wait patiently for the page to come up). It is, in many respects, considered the precursor to the Internet.The most recognizable element, however, was "Pages from Ceefax," an in-vision sequence of a selection of pages from Ceefax that was normally shown in the absence of any other programming. These transmissions began in March 1980 and was initially referred to as "Ceefax In-Vision" before changing to the more recognizable name around January 1984. They were shown on BBC One until 9th November 1997 and on BBC Two until 22nd October 2012.Since its shutdown, efforts have been made to revive Ceefax for the modern age, including Peter Kwan's Teefax and Nathan Dane's recreation of Ceefax.

Now this is a Peter Rodgers Organization print, so normally, this is when the Zorro Prods./PRO combo would appear, but the combo seen here (from the original Family Channel airings) was surprisingly left intact. This itself is actually an international copy of said episode, which explains why the New World International logo appeared at the very end.
Starz Extended Next on Music (2022 - my attempt at looping) DJ Saunders 2023-03-13 | Well, after quite a struggle, I finally did it.Through screen-recording my iPhone's home screen and having the DVR recording playing in the background, I finally have a clean copy of the extended Starz "Next on" music, part of the music that was introduced in the September 2022 rebrand. This is known officially as the "Starts in" music, and is currently heard on MoviePlex, RetroPlex, and IndiePlex in between movies.I've just been made aware that @RoadLeaks managed to get a longer cut of the extended music in his video than I did with my capture, but nonetheless, this is my attempt at making this music loopable with what I have. It's not entirely going to replace NTSCqt as my go-to for post-processing, but I'll definitely use it more often, since it - through the standalone use of FFmpeg - renders the video with the same true-to-life analog artifact emulation that NTSCqt provides at a fraction of the file size and a fraction of the time. This also means no more waiting for a few days just for one video to finish rendering before I upload it.

Best of all, I found it completely out of the blue, when I least expected it.From a 1987 Produce, S.A. demo reel, as originally posted in the Internet Archive by Laboratorio Experimental de Cine. There are several other finds in this reel that are equally fascinating, so this won't be the only one.

11/26/22: Wordle for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive (Gameplay) DJ Saunders 2022-11-26 | This Sega Genesis/Mega Drive clone of Wordle was made by matt-j. I played this for a while, and I struggled capturing footage I was happy with, but now, here is the gameplay footage.Note that the speed of the button presses do not actually appear that way in real time; when the video was originally recording, the game was struggling to catch up, but my keyboard button presses still registered as normal. Now, with the game in its intended speed after converting the rendered video from MKV to MP4, the button presses are faster.Footage recorded in RetroArch with the Genesis Plus GX Wide core.
11/23/22: Wordle for the BBC Micro/Acorn Electron (Graphics Mode Gameplay) DJ Saunders 2022-11-23 | There are two different versions of Wordle for the BBC Micro. By pressing "T," you are playing Wordle in text mode, so any letters that don't appear in the word will appear as blue. Pressing "G" lets you play Wordle in graphics mode, and you'll notice that the graphics are visually similar to that of the actual Wordle, aside from the keyboard.The difference between both versions: Text mode boasts a large dictionary, whereas graphics mode only has a small dictionary.Footage recorded in BeebEm.
