Mario Forever Remake - World 9 by Syzxchulun Full Walkthrough [HD]

I felt like playing some SMBX on DGV again, since you guys seem to like it almost as much as Mario Forever. I wasn't sure what title I should play exactly, since there are a lot (and I mean a LOT) of different worlds (or "episodes") created by the fanbase out there ! If you're curious, there's actually a forum where people share SMBX episodes, which is where I got this one. Pretty cool ! I knew I wanted something pretty simple and easy to play, since I haven't played SMBX in a long time and wasn't quite ready for anything too involved. After a bit of back and forth, I settled on "The Princess Cliché". It's nothing special really, as the title itself suggests. It's also not a very long world, so it was the perfect "appetizer" that put me in the mood for some more SMBX action. If you guys have suggestions of episodes you'd like me to play, let me know in the comments and I'll try to show them here on DGV ! Danny Rulez !

Here's a short and simple world by Mariovariable. It sat in my inbox of requests for ages until I decided to do some more Mario videos. I chose this one because it seemed nice and straightforward, which is what I wanted. I didn't want something too elaborate that would require a whole series to make, like The Minus Worlds or some other big projects like that - not after taking such a big break from playing any Mario games.
World Y is plain and standard - that's it. Nothing more, nothing less. It's not a BAD world by any means, no way, but it doesn't stand out either. Actually, one thing that DOES stand out is a glitch in the game that causes it to automatically reset when you're down to 0 lives, so instead of getting one more try, you get sent back to the menu screen. That's like having one less life by default ! To be honest, it wasn't nearly as annoying as I was expecting it to be, because the game saves your progress and starts you off at the last level you reached, so it's not THAT much of a big deal, but still counts as a flaw. See you guys in the next vid. Danny rulez !

OK guys, I know this is not the sort of video you were expecting and it's indeed not something I usually do on this channel, however I found something rather interesting when I was transferring some family VHS tapes to digital and thought I'd share it with you. Among them, there are a few tapes with Tom and Jerry cartoons on them, so once I was done recording all the important ones, I popped those in too just for the amusement factor. These exist because when I was around 4-5 years old, my folks would sometimes record cartoons off Cartoon Network onto VHS tape for me, particularly when there was a Tom and Jerry marathon going on, which is what these are. As far as I can tell, they must have just hit record on the VCR and let it run until the tape reached the end - they didn't bother to actually watch what was being recorded and pause the tape during commercial breaks. As such, commercials and bumpers that occasionally came on also ended up on the tape, which is what got my interest. It may may not sound like the most interesting topic out there, until out of curiosity I thought I'd try to find some of these commercials online. I was hoping I'd find them in better quality somewhere and I was curious to read through the comments and see how other people my age react to seeing some of these after 20 or more years, especially since sometimes you see some very interesting comments from people who actually took part in making the commercial or the soundtracks or played some part in it (or at least claim so). It's those comments I look froward to the most. After trying my best, my searches turned out empty though ! I was expecting to at least come across some forums where people reference some of these, but nothing relevant ever turned up. This may very well be the first time someone has posted these commercials anywhere on the internet, which is pretty exciting to be honest - it's like a time capsule. Heck, unless someone can prove me otherwise, based on what I could find (or rather *couldn't* find) these may be the last recordings of these ads in existence. Maybe someone recognizes some of these, if they happened to show up in the area you live in. They probably differed in various parts of the world and perhaps even from one network provider to another. These tapes are now over 20 years old, so the video quality isn't the best, as you'd expect, but it's good enough. The audio survived really well though.
This particular batch was probably taped somewhere around Christmas, given the "New Year's Toon Resolution" segment (featuring Morocco Mole from Secret Squirrel), as well as the Christmas theme in the commercials for Dexter's Laboratory and Cow and Chicken towards the end. I find the "New Year's Toon Resolution" bit the most interesting of the bunch. Although I could find absolutely nothing about it, from what I can assume, the segment featured a different cartoon character each time it came on. In this case it's Morocco Mole, but I found a couple with Cow and Chicken and the Red Guy at different points on the tape and on 2 other tapes. Sadly, there's one with the Red Guy where the recording suddenly stops before we get the chance to hear what he has to say - we only see Red introducing himself by saying "HELOOOO ! It's me with the bare derrière" before the video cuts out (how ironic), however that's clearly a different speech than the one he gives in another "Toon Resolution" which was fortunately captured whole, so we can assume there were probably a couple of different "resolutions" for each character. I'd be great if others found this sort of stuff interesting and tried to source some of these old bumpers and commercials so we may all relieve some good memories in VHS quality ! Hope you enjoy ! Cheers.
-------
The last thing I want to show you in Zuma 2 is the challenge mode. The goal here is to score as many points as possible in each level of the game before the 2 minute timer runs out or before you die if the balls reach the drain like normal. Each stage has a target score and an ace score, which grow higher and higher as the game progresses. You can't advance to the next stage until you reach the target score. You can also do even better and beat the ace score as well, which is what I do in this video. Of course, I couldn't ace all levels from the first try, so I had to play some of them a couple of times until I did, because by nature of the game it's less about skill and more about luck, like how the balls line up, whether you get combos, powerups, etc. The video only shows my best attempts where I beat the ace score. One last think I need to mention is that in order to have access to all the levels in challenge mode, you fist have to play them at least once in "Iron Frog" mode, so I suggest playing that one fist ! Have fun !
-------
In "iron frog", the objective is to play through 10 stages without dying a single time ! The stages are basically in "hard mode", meaning the balls move pretty fast, they come pretty badly mismatched and also in all 6 colors right from the start, unlike the main game which starts you off nice and easy with only 4 colors (no purples and grays at first) and plenty of strings already matched up pretty well ! It took me quite a long time to finally beat the Iron Frog - several days in fact ! I think a little luck has to go with it - it all depends on the powerups you manage grab and how badly scrambled the balls roll in, since it's all random every time, so you might be lucky and get some pretty easy combos and ace one round, then the next round you suddenly get a mish-mash of colors and hardly any powerups, making the task almost impossible at that point ! Beating the Iron Frog mode is required in order to unlock some of the later levels in "Challenge mode", which I'll show in the next video. Have fun !
-------
One day I really felt like playing the ever--popular game Zuma again and I found out PopCap actually made a sequel called Zuma's Revenge, so I thought it'd make for a pretty video here on the channel. At the time I made videos of the first Zuma (which happens to be a very popular series on my channel to this day !) Youtube didn't allow videos longer than 10 minutes, so I had to split up my footage into a lot of small parts. Since that is no longer a restriction, the easiest thing to do was to just make a single "longplay" video where I play the game from beginning to end. This here is "adventure mode", which is basically the main game. I'm sure you already know what Zuma is about and how it's played, even if you've never played it yourself, so I won't go into great detail here, since it's pretty much the same exact game, just with different graphics, though there are a few notable differences: every 10 levels you now fight a boss, where the idea is to shoot balls at him until he dies, while still keeping an eye on the regular balls which roll on screen like normal ! As the game progresses, the boss will sit behind more and more rows of balls which you have to break through in order for your shots to reach, so it becomes very intense towards the end, especially as some bosses fire back at you and can stun you momentarily, costing you precious time !
Another difference is that there are some levels in which the frog can hop between two different spots on the screen, giving you more ground to cover. Usually each spot covers half the screen, with a barrier in between, requiring you to jump to the other spot in order to tend to the balls over on the other half, so this adds to the difficulty quite a lot and keeps you alert !
Unlike the first game where the layout of the levels is such that the frog is always close to the middle of the screen and you can aim 360 degrees around you, here there are some levels where the frog actually rides horizontally left and right along the bottom of the screen and you only aim upwards (like "Luxor" for instance - another game in this style). This makes for some pretty tricky aiming, as your shots can only travel in a straight line, making it much harder to land them close to the edge of the screen, so it's another element of challenge.
If you enjoyed the original as much as I did, then you'll surely like the sequel as well ! Try it out !
-------
Here's another Mario Forever game which someone requested: "Project ♪", though I like to refer to it as "Musical World" or "Project Melody", though the latter is already taken by a virtual anime youtuber, so I guess that's why they didn't name it that :)) Anyway.....what can I say ? I was surprised: this game is actually REALLY hard ! It's one of the hardest Mario Forever fan games I've played in a while ! Judging by the title, I was expecting this to be a laid-back game where the focus would be on the soundtracks and not so much on the difficulty and challenge, but no, it's actually the other way around ! Not too many memorable soundtracks in this game (at least to me), but the difficulty on the other hand is WAY up there ! I wasn't able to finish it, even after multiple tries: after eventually making it to Bowser (actually "Jowser" in this case), I got killed almost immediately and couldn't get to him a second time. On top of that, I also had to deal with the regular levels which I had to go through several times before even getting a chance to battle Jowser again, so eventually I had to admit defeat and admit the game is just too hard for me to handle, so what you get is a fail video of sorts.....
I sure hope there aren't other worlds after the first one, because I may be missing out on some awesome stuff later on that I couldn't get to, but for now, that's all I can take...Danny Rulez !

Merry Christmas everybody....OK, it's a bit late for that, isn't it ? Well, never mind...Here we are back in The Game Vault with another Mario Forever fan game ! The concept of this one is pretty interesting: Crist1919 made this one into a collection of levels from different MF fans ! It's really awesome when the community comes together to create something ! Gives me a warm feeling inside :))) I was planning to release this one for Christmas, but it kept getting delayed.....so much so that it ended up going past New Years Eve as well :)) Consider this my VERY late Christmas/New Years combo special for you ! I thought it'd be better to make it in two parts, since it turned out way longer than I initially expected.
I chose a fitting title for this one: Nightmare Before Christmas...yeah, sounds great, doesn't it ? :)) What can I say ? It truly WAS hard, as the title predicted, but not impossible either. Overall, I enjoyed it ! I like co-op projects like these because it gives you an idea of each creator's overall style, so you know what to expect if you pick up one of their individual games. Aside from that, what can I say ? Thank you for sticking around all these years and I hope there will be more videos soon ! Keep the suggestions coming and as always: DANNY RULEZ !

As you guys may know, I'm a really big fan of the Oddworld series, so I was really looking forward to playing "New N Tasty" here on Danny's Game Vault. I'm a bit late to the party here, since it's been out for a couple of years already at the time of making this video, but still, once I got into it, I was hooked ! SO addicting ! I highly recommend you try this one yourself !

Time for part two of The Roman Worlds v3.4 with your one and only Danny Boy ! Let's dive deeper into the game and see how well I do ! :D

This officially concludes this second revision of Phantom Sapphire's "Order of Fate" ! Make sure you continue this project, as it definitely looks promising. Keep the suggestions and game requests coming in the meantime. Cheers guys.
-------
Time to start a new Mario Forever series: Phantom Sapphire's "Order of Fate" ! I've already played this before, but that turned out to be only the demo version. I decided I'd cover one world per video, since the length of each world is just right, so here's the first one: Goldendom. Stay tuned for more :D

Here are the two bonus levels bundled with "Great Bowser's Castle", so we can officially put this game to rest. Actually only one of these can be considered a "bonus" level - the other one, World Minus 1-4 is taken from "The Minus Worlds" with little to no changes, so we shouldn't even include it here, but I figured I might as well. See you guys in the next series and, as always, be sure to keep those suggestions coming. Cheers.

Here's another game that got requested by you guys, called "Great Bowser's Castle" by Crist1919. What can I say ? Crist managed to deliver another good game once again...it's not TOO amazing in any way, sorry to say, but the difficulty is fair and it's well done overall, so it's definitely worth playing.
-------
Time for the last bit of footage of World 4, in good old fashioned "longplay style", like you guys like it. Yeah, I said I'd make short vids from now on, but not only the public didn't quite like it, but they also took longer to edit, so I changed my mind again :)) As far as the game goes, it's currently on hold until a new version is released, which hopefully answers some of the complaints I have with this one, as it's currently impossible to beat ! Cheers.
-------
NEXT PART HERE: youtu.be/ap7ttncjbMk
Danny continues his journey through World 4...how will our Danny boy hold up ? Make sure you've watched part 1 first !
-------
Danny is ready to take on the fourth of the Roman Worlds. Since this one might take longer to finally complete, it shall be split across several shorter vids like this in order to encourage you guys to watch the whole thing - no need to have an hour-long video containing nothing but fail material. Also, terribly sorry, but the first level had to sped up again, since I tried uploading the vid with just the pitch shift and it still got detected, so I had to up the tempo as well...I wasn't expecting that to happen, but apparently there's something about that song that youtube can detect even in a different tone. Anyway, hope you guys will understand and not go too critical on me. Cheers guys.
-------
You didn't think I was going to abandon the series just like that, did you ? Here's the third Roman World nailed and locked away in "The Game Vault" ! :D
-------
I hit a bit of a snag with Roman World 3 - no, it wasn't a glitch, but pure impossibility ! I decided to post the incomplete video anyway, mostly to ask for some help or pointers. I'll definitely try it again, so don't worry ! :D
UPDATED VIDEO HERE: youtube.com/watch?v=qi7FJpbJopc
-------
Second Roman World is now beat as well ! On to the third one ! :D
-------
How's it going guys ? Danny's finally back with a new video :D It's time to play Mario Forever Roman Worlds ! This game is guaranteed to be one of the longest MF games ever made ! Judging by how difficult this first world was, it doesn't look like my brain will be up to the task of beating the WHOLE game, especially since I've heard it has something like 10+ worlds, though it's still a work in progress and the numbers haven't been officially confirmed yet (you might wanna look in the comments below to see what others have got to say about it) ! I'll definitely try getting as far as possible, but I'm still struggling with world 2, so if it's already this close to impossibility, I can only imagine what it's like once we reach world 8 ! :| Danny out !

Featuring a JazzJackrabbit DOS OST MIX by NORTSHIP01 : youtu.be/HX7mQbKmyCk
-------
Here's a new Mario Forever game made by Crist1919 and Mariovariable3410, titled "Mario Forever All Stars". The name is obviously based on "Super Mario All Stars" on the SNES, which is a collection of several Mario games, including the original sequel to Super Mario Bros. which wasn't released outside of Japan until "All Stars" came out years later. I couldn't find any real connection between the original SNES game and the MF game by our guys here, other than the name itself, but that's not important...what is important is that Crist and MV teamed up to deliver a great game to add to the collection of MF fan games. However, what stood out with this one was the difficulty ! While it is very well executed in terms of quality, the game starts off way too difficult, way too fast ! By the time you reach the second level, you'll be begging for mercy ! The best description of how this game works would be something like "tons of sh!t flying at you at once": whether there's lakitus, bullets, flamethrowers or koopas, everything is in large and over-abundant quantities, making this one of the most difficult games I've played so far. It took me quite some time to finally beat it and the fact that I was almost ready to give up at one point should suggest it's not made for casual players, so the target audience for this one is restricted only to hardcore motherf*ckers.....like me :)) Anyway, see for yourself: a great game in the MF library, but a hard son of a b!tch ! Danny rulez !

Well, I thought you guys might like this one so I will share it with you: user NortShip01 made a mix of the soundtracks from the original Jazz Jackrabbit on the DOS and he asked for my opinion, since he knows I'm a fan of the series myself. I thought it's pretty amazing, so I asked him if he'd like me to feature this mix on my channel and he agreed, so here it is. I believe he included most, if not ALL of the tracks from the game, perfectly mixed into one another and not just added sequentially. I can only praise the effort and quality - keep it up ! If you have a track or a mix that you'd like me to feature, you can contact me and we can set up a video ;) The tracklist is below, though I haven't added any timecodes yet - feel free to do that in the comments.

More SMBX goodness. I received some tips on how to complete some of the levels, but I had already recorded the footage and made the vids, so I couldn't bear to scrap all of that work. What I will do instead is go back and actually apply those tips in the following parts, so don't worry guys, you'll get to see EVERYTHING....hopefully :))
-------
It's nice to play SMBX again, isn't it guys ? Hopefully this time I'll actually be able to play this world till the end, since I tried it some time ago and kept having problems with the audio, but so far everything's gone without a hitch - the new CPU is doing its job. Also, even though DGV should be a walkthrough channel where I help you out with games, by providing tips and tricks, this time the roles have been swapped a bit, as I'll have to rely on YOU guys for this series: there are a lot of areas which left me scratching my head that I simply couldn't figure out, so feel free to leave tips in the comments (actually, you pretty much HAVE to help me out here if you wanna see the end) :))

Here's my Christmas gift to you guys: my personal list of the top 5 best and worst MF games that I played in 2015 on Danny's Game Vault....took forever to do, but it sure feels worth it :)) Merry Christmas and thanks for being awesome ! :D

After a very long absence, Danny's back to add another letter world to "The Game Vault": World A by McGenterius (hope I spelled it right :)). I didn't mention it anywhere in the video as it would be impossible to correct afterwards if I got it wrong :)). DGV is soon going to reach 5K subbers (at the time of making the video), so I can only thank YOU for that once again :D Hope you're doing good and stay awesome ! Danny Rulez !

This is World "Slashed Zero" (or I guess you could also call it "World Emtpy Set" :)) ), an extra world that comes with the latest version of "The Minus Worlds" by Crist1919. I thought I'd go back and play it as well.

This is an extra level that comes with world PS. It's a single one so far, but the creator told me that he's planning on expanding the whole game, including this world, so I'm really looking forward to that, since both the main game and this level are very well done and really enjoyable to play (despite the occasional failures which are unavoidable, no matter how great the game is). Cheers.

This is "World PS" by Phantom Sapphire. Despite being his first project, it turned out damn good ! The only problem is the lack of continues, but I'm sure that will be fixed soon. Keep it up and you're on your way to becoming my next favorite creator, next to Crist1919. I see medals coming your way too ! Very good game ! Big cheers from Danny !

Gents and ladies, quick and dirty one for you here : World V by 552x. I did cut down on the quality of this vid a lot because obviously some of you guys don't appreciate, or perhaps don't realize, the amount of work that goes into making these vids, so I decided not to work my fingers to the bone anymore. DGV started off as a little channel where I just recorded some games and posted random footage of them so everybody can start a nice conversation and have a good time, but sadly there are some ****** out there who want to ruin all that for everybody by attacking my channel and my vids in various ways, so I just figured that if some of my vids get so much hate, then I must be doing something wrong and I should stop doing that, whatever it is.....f-it, I could even play a game and not even upload it, just because some guys don't deserve it and I'll keep all that fun for myself. It's a shame that we've got some really nice fans out there, but there are 1-2 pieces of ****** out there (with Youtube in the lead !) who ruin all that, but I'm bored talking about them, so enough ranting for today. Maybe next time I'll be a bit calmer and give you guys a proper vid, but for now this is all you get, just as a little reminder that I haven't lost a braincell yet and that kindergarten antics don't faze me at all. Cheers guys.

NOTE: I don't know if I put the right guy in the title, so feel free to correct me :))
-------
After a month without any new videos, Danny is back in action (with a college degree as well ! :)) ). During my time off, I received quite a few emails from people asking me to play their games, so I don't know in which order they came - I just picked one at random and it happened to be this one : "Weird Islands" by Avoid Gamer (the same guy who made, you guessed it, "The Avoid World"). It's your average Mario Forever fan game: nothing really stands out or is worth mentioning, neither good nor bad. It plays OK, there are generally no bugs, the graphics are there, the soundtracks (amazingly) are at the right volume and the difficulty is not terrible. The only thing that needs to be fixed is the boss battle, where the controls suddenly go from whatever you set them in the options menu to CTRL and SHIFT. At least the game lets you know of this right away by having a warning message above the battle arena, but it shouldn't happen at all. That's about it for this one: a basic game, perfectly suitable for me after such a long period of inactivity, as it helped me get back into the 'vault-y' mood :)) Catch you guys next time with....well, I'll let you guys sleep on that one just to tease you :P :))
