Youre Using Colossal Weapons Wrong | Elden Ring PvP WaZeus 2024-10-02 | Colossal Weapons got a huge buff in Patch 1.14. Their crouching R1 attack startup was sped up from 18f to 15f. With a much more threatening crouching attack, you are able to pressure your opponent and setup a headshot combo for massive damage. The combo goes; cr1 into a throwing dagger/dart, then an R2. There are several factors that may affect how successful you are in landing the headshot. Your opponent needs to be facing you when you hit them with the cr1. Also, make sure that you are spamming your throwing dag/dart. A Curved Greatsword combined with a Thrusting Shield in the off-hand (with Shield Strike) is a match made in heaven. You are able to true combo an L2 (shield strike) out of almost every 1-Handed CGS attack. For those wondering about the builds, pure Dex with Bloodhound's Fang (Dragobolt Grease) and Lightning Dueling Shield is optimal for damage. Its Ash of War; Witching Hour Slash is extremely strong and sets up a lot of combos. The L2 true combos into an R1, as well as an L1 with many different off-hands. You can also chain longer combos by true comboing the L2 with an R1, then roll catching with an off-hand halberd or great katana (in the video I'm using the Banished Knight Halberd and Rakshasa's Great Katana). I also found the you can set up a frame trap with the Pata and getting another true combo.
