48 hours Packraft Wild Camping On A Scottish Loch, Inside a Scandinavian Style Cabin! EastAnglianBushcraft 2024-09-24 | How do legends!?!In this weeks episode, my mukka Jake and I spend the evening under tarp in the woods by a Scottish loch in the highlands. We try our hand at a bit of lure fishing, obviously we caught naff all so decided to settle for a book in the bag chilli. The next morning we have a re pack of kit. We spent 8 days living out of my golf and re packed for each camp each day, depending on the type of camp we were planning to do. With that sorted, we drove to another loch for another adventure where we blew up the packrafts to paddle over to the other side. We got a nice campfire roaring and spent the night under a cool scandi style bushcraft cabin in the woods. I got my drone soaked in the way over… typical. We met a couple of Danish lads, we had an evening swapping stories and a bit of banter accompanied by red wine, cheese and crackers with some branston pickle on, which I thought was a proper English welcome! The water back accross was quite choppy but if anything, it just aided the dramatic backdrop that left me with a massive smile on my face. Here is episode 1 from my latest trip…. A week adventuring around the Scottish highlands with my mate @JakesJourneyMate We arrived late in the evening after a 9 hour drive up from Suffolk, quickly deployed the tarp in a woods and got some shut eye before starting our first full day after a cooked breakfast from a hikers cafe on the west highland way. Day one saw us head up into Fort William for a pint and a look around some outdoor shops before heading to our first wild camping spot above a steam railway. We slung the hammocks up and got a fire going to cook up some steak and veg.On day 2, we saw some beautiful scenery in the form of rivers, mountains and forests…. A shipwreck only accessible at low tide which is where I’ve hammock camped before…This was a no go as it had collapsed!!!I then went to try out another spot I’ve camped at before accross the river with a natural over hang but this was also a no go due to the spot being too boggy and the roof had come down by about a foot….I headed into town to get some inspiration when I had a lightbulb moment about the spot nearThe marina that I’ve wanted to camp since the shipwreck video…. EastAnglianBushcraft 2023-09-27 | Hello everyone!Welcome back to the channel!!This week, you join me as i solo wild camp in the woods above the beach, with views over the North Sea on the East coast of England.I start by meeting my friend Fraser from work to walk his dog Drogo on a beach 5 miles further south than the camp spot.. This was part of the Suffolk Coast path which I've hiked before.I set up my new tent in the Sycamore trees which was a perfect fit for a night of relaxing and drinking a few ales. I cook up some breakfast on the bush box. Food always seems to taste better out in nature!I head down to Surrey to meet @thesteakdetective for a night in the woods in our hammocks where we cook up some large beef ribs and try his new BBQ sauce with some chicken wings cooked over the campfire. We visit a local farm shop and a few pubs on our travels to pick up It unfortunately rains in the morning but i sill manage to get the drone up for a few shots of the Surrey Hills and Box Hill. We set off from Crew Green just inside North wales and wild camped en route to what was originally planned as Bridgnorth but we ended up finishing in Iron bridge about 8 mile shy on day 5 due to the weather and logistics.We had a blast and i loved every second of the trip from the minute i got in my van in Suffolk and headed out for the adventure. I tried to get past for about 45 minutes before deciding it probably wasn't going to happen without getting nipped so i moored up and found a lively little pine plantation wood to set up my hammock for a nice woodland wild camp. Chopped into tiny pieces and left all over the forest floor….It couldn’t be any more ironic… I had a chat with my friends Ben and Ell last week and we decided to take down our shelters as it was always built as a “winter camp”… the woods started picking up some more traffic so we thought best to move on… the lads took their shelters down on the weekend and I went out solo camping to dismantle my shelter aswel…. As if by magic … it was done for me.
