Springsteen in Europe: Copenhagen Jan Jelle 2023-07-12 | With Gerwin I attended the gig of Bruce Springsteen in Copenhagen. Officially the city is called: København. In the Parken stadium he gave a great show. Not many surprises but Springsteen and The E-street Band played steady and good as always.
Springsteen in Europe: London - Hyde park Jan Jelle 2023-07-10 | In the weekend of July 8th we (me and Rinze van der Sluis) went to Hyde Park to see the boss - Bruce Springsteen and The E-street band. Familiar faces around me in the golden circle with Tibet Sinha. He interviewed Springsteen in 2016 for his autobiography. On the other side I found Adam Rutherford and his wife and daughter. Of course I did talk about the plug that was pulled out in 2012 during Twist and Shout.

Twist & Shout (stadium breaker) in Ullevi / Gothenburg Jan Jelle 2023-06-28 | Bruce Springsteen played Wednesday (June 28th 2023) the stadium breaker Twist and Shout. Springsteen in Europe: Gothenburg Jan Jelle 2023-06-27 | The second show in Gothenburg came with a gift of Bruce Springsteen. He played with Roy Bittan the song Racing in the Street. Three gigs he gave at 24 26 and 28 June 2023. It was amazing and Bruce has got a special connection with the Swedish city.This time I attended the roll call during the first show and found out that about 70 fans left the first show before it ended. Mostly people from the stands or at the back and they try to find luck to get a low number and to stand in front of the next show. Soms fans even leave their first lines to get a low number to do it all over again the next show. This only happens when Springsteen gives multiple shows in one city like in Dublin, Paris, Oslo or Gothenburg.

There were a way less mobile phones in the air than other shows. People were just experiencing what was happening on stage. Bruce Springsteen and The E-street Band surprised the crowd with The River. It was never played before this tour.

It was Tuesday 14 June 2023 and this time he surprised the crowd with the song Darlington County. It was a reversed sign request because later on, he got a sign from a woman with a picture of her in Bruce's arms.... Working on the Highway was the other one. At last but not least. My Hometown. The people in Switzerland did have a lot of signs of My Hometown and I don't know why. They did organise it and with success.
Springsteen in Europe: Landgraaf Jan Jelle 2023-06-12 | Op 11 juni speelde Bruce Springsteen & The E-Street Band op het Megaland in Landgraaf. Ik keek de dag ervoor bij de roll call en ontmoette onder anderen de negenjarige Dante uit België. Hij wist toen nog niet dat hij de volgende dag de mondharmonica van Bruce zou graag en wat was hij blij. Ook een jongen uit Oranjewoud (bij Heerenveen) kreeg eentje en ik sprak ook met hem.

We waren bij de row call en waren bij de eerste 1000 mensen bij de eerste show op 28 april. De andere show was op 30 april.
Op zoek naar Bruce Springsteen Jan Jelle 2023-04-09 | Eelco en Jan Jelle gingen rond 1 april 2023 op zoek naar de roots van Bruce Springsteen. We namen een kijkje in Freehold en Asbury Park in New Jersey. Uiteraard sloegen we Long Branch (Born to run huisje) en de boardwalk van Asbury Park niet over. Daarna bezochten we New York voor de concerten van Madison Square Garden en in Brooklyn.
Piste 1 Russbach (red track) - Dachstein West Jan Jelle 2023-03-01 | Dachstein West isn't the best spot for beginners. Red slopes do have several quite steep spots. The way going down to Russbach is may be acceptable for beginners with a bit experiences.The slope is quite wide, if you want you can use the whole width of the track. It's also quite nice! I scaled down from 45 minutes to 7 minutes though it is possible to ski it in 3 minutes! Distance is about 3 km and you start at 1400 meters and will go down 600 meters.
Piste 9 (blue track) Zwieselalm (Dachstein West) Jan Jelle 2023-02-28 | The blue track / piste 9 at Zwieselalm in the hinterdal of Gosau.At the start don’t forget to speed up a bit. There a a few nasty narrow steep pieces but that’s all.If you don’t speed up at the right moments you have to walk like duck or use your poles to move on. The second part after the middle station is a steeper slope. Don’t forget your turn to the left when you like easy skiing.

OSTUNI Jan Jelle 2019-07-18 | Op 18 juli bezochten we het stadje Ostuni. De witte stad in het zuiden van Italië en de stad staat bekend vanwege de witte huisjes!
MATERA Jan Jelle 2019-07-17 | Eén van de Culturele Hoofdsteden van 2019 is Matera in de regio Basilicata in Italië. Op 17 juli bracht ik met Maurice Hamming een bezoekje aan de stad. Vooral de de grotwoningen, Sassi, zijn super mooi.

KEUKENHOF? ZO KAN HET OOK! Jan Jelle 2019-04-26 | In de provincie Flevoland wordt jaarlijks het Tulpenfestival in Creil (19 april t/m 5 mei 2019) gehouden. In 2019 was het voor het eerst mogelijk om over de prachtige tulpenvelden te vliegen met een luchtballon. Een ballonvaart over de tulpen. Als je niet in de file wilt staan voor de Keukenhof, is dit een geweldig alternatief!
IJSFONTEIN VAN 700.000 EURO Jan Jelle 2019-03-24 | Op zondag 24 maart 2019 peilde ik de stemming onder de bezoekers van de ijsfontein in Dokkum. Hij zou tijdens Culturele Hoofdstad 2018 opgeleverd worden maar het maak-proces nam veel tijd in beslag.Op 22 februari van dit jaar werd hij alsnog officieel geopend. Veel ijs is er niet te vinden en de meeste bezoekers (uit Heerenveen, Franeker, Damwâld, Groningen, Beetsterzwaag en Dokkum) waren niet erg enthousiast.Kosten 700.000 euro. Helaas werkten meerdere 'onderdelen' van de fontein niet. 'Geld over de balk' en 'boel geld' waren reacties. Hopelijk werkt hij snel naar behoren voordat SBS6 met tv-programma 'Van onze centen' langskomt....Navraag bij de gemeente leert dat de sproeiers in de grond alleen op warme zomerdagen worden gebruikt. WAT SPOORT HIER NIET? Jan Jelle 2019-02-21 | Donderdag 21 februari werd de spoortunnel op zijn plek geschoven bij het treinstation in Hurdegaryp. Beklimming vulkaan Stromboli Jan Jelle 2018-07-02 | Op 28 juni 2018 beklom ik de vulkaan Stromboli bij Sicilië. Bekijk de video voor een goede indruk van de gehele klim. Als je ook gaat, zorg voor extra kleding, een hoofdlamp en goede bergschoenen. Ik droeg een broek maar je zou in korte broek naar boven kunnen gaan. Zorg wel voor extra kleding omdat het een stuk kouder en winderig kan zijn op de top van de berg.Afstanden:De Stromboli vulkaan is ruim 900 meter hoog.Beklimming omhoog is ongeveer 5.1 km (2.5 uur)Afdaling is korter met ongeveer 4.5 km (1.5 uur)
