Crosscut Sled for Table Saw - MICROJIG dovetail clamps Cunningham Wood Work 2020-12-01 | Todays build is two crosscut sleds for the table saw. The first one is for 90 degree cuts and the second is for 45 degree bevels specifically for making boxes. Both sleds use the Microjig matchfit clamp system and have Kreg T track and flip stops. I decided to use hardwood runners instead of aluminum to see how they hold up. Crystal Clear Epoxy Mallet with Katalox handle Cunningham Wood Work 2020-04-22 | In this video I am making a wooden mallet but with an epoxy head. I made one of my traditional mallets in my home shop and shipped it to Alumilite's shop in Michigan. I then drove to their shop and made a video on casting epoxy and making silicone molds (link below). Once we made the epoxy head I then made the handle out of Katalox and shaped it with a plywood template and a pattern bit on the router table. I then used a roundover bit to smooth it out. I made sure they fit together and then used a 2:1 epoxy to glue it together. I think it ended up nearly perfect. I break down the wood and then stabilize the pieces to be used for the head in resin. I then bore out a hole in each half to accept a 1 inch oak dowel that will align and strengthen the joint between the two halves. I used Total Boat 2:1 High performance resin to glue the two halves together. I then used Woodpecker Ultrashear Tools to turn to the desired shape. I keep in mind the size of the handle and the width of my own hand. This makes for a very comfy and custom fit handle. Stabilizing the head makes it much stronger and heavier. Brass Faced Dovetail Mallet Cunningham Wood Work 2019-06-21 | This is my process of making a brass faced mallet for leather workers. JT from dfmtoolworks.com made the brass faces and milled the dovetail into them. I simply built a mallet with my normal process and router matching dovetails on the faces and snuck up on the fit. Brass donut turned on lathe Cunningham Wood Work 2019-05-29 | Here's a fun video of me making something from what I thought was a failed resin pour. I used some brass shavings from a machine shop and some Alumilite resin. The pressure pot was too full so it set out in the open and became very cloudy. Once I de-molded it I noticed the shavings were very visible and it was game on.
