The Hardest Part of Being a Christian? | A Christian Witch Talks Theology Sara Raztresen 2026-03-24 | And let me say: thinking this way doesnt mean we dont hold people accountable for making amends for what theyve done. Or that we ignore it.For some reason, people think it's an Either Or thing: you either love people (aka sweep everything theyve ever done under the rug and put on appearances) or condemn them (and never give them room to grow or repent or change or anything). I dont understand this kind of thinking. But this is what it means all the time when Jesus says people will be hated for following His teachings. This idea pisses off EVERYBODY, Christian or not.The reality is that God Himself shows every single one of us--yes, even the absolute worst of us--this same unconditional love and grace. You are called to follow in God's ways, not the ways of the world. If you truly love God, you'll understand not only why the Good Samaritan story was so important, but why the Prodigal Son was so important, and why so much of Jesus's teachings made everybody so upset.It's hard to have patience. And be kind. But if you want this world to look better, you have to stop running in the same circles and repeating the same cycles as the world pushes you to do.That is the hardest part of being a Christian.
