Original Choreo Featuring VR Half Body and Me: Ghosts, by Mike Shinoda dragonc0 2024-04-30 | "I've had enough hard days... Like if I wake up and I feel good I shouldn't feel guilty about having fun, you know?"I quickly realized this was not going to work well for a half body choreography, so I had three options: Shelf it until legs, find someone with full body tracking to teach and dance with, or record myself. For both teaching and recording it myself it would be handy to have the choreo fully visible instead of trying to explain it, so went with recording myself to start with. This choice did give me a lot of creative freedom as well, not having to think about how moves would look in VR necessarily.So, here's a little bit of a behind the scenes view of how it looks dancing in VR. Normally I dance towards the desk, but I didn't have enough space to get a good camera angle. The gears are rotating around the center with a moving mechanic to propel the system out there in space with walkways all around it to enjoy multiple angles, it's so relaxing.This dance is all but relaxing however, there's a lot going on and trying to come up with a good dance for the rap part took a good part of my time. Together with actually getting a good take to put up that took a majority of the time (Getting that good take was cursed; forgetting to record, lighting issues, lag spikes made it take more time than I wanted).
