In those days the yellow plastic leggings would start to melt when they got hot. We were also issued with nylon working rig trousers and the combination of the two together was not a good idea. Severe agonising burns was the inevitable outcome if you were unlucky enough to get too involved in the fire! Following a few incidents the leggings were changed. Filmed and edited by Steve Edwards.
