Wendy Carlos 映画「時計じかけのオレンジ」 Theme from A Clockwork Orange Gwydions Astral Coffeehouse 2026-06-02 | 1971年イギリス、アメリカ合作。スタンリー・キューブリック制作・監督・脚本で主演にはマルコム・マクダウェルが就きました。キューブリック監督が最も脂が乗りきっていた時期の作品群の一つと言えますね。1964 博士の異常な愛情 1968 2001年宇宙の旅 1971 時計じかけのオレンジ（本作） 1975 バリー・リンドン これらは何れも米アカデミー賞にノミネートされただけではなく英国アカデミー賞の受賞やその他諸々の賞にも名前が上がりました。（音楽について）音楽担当はウォルター・カルロスです。当時はまだそれ程いなかった電子音楽を得意とした音楽家の一人です。クラシック音楽にも精通していて、彼の最初のアルバムはバッハの作品をシンセサイザーで演奏したものでした。本作でもベートーベンの「第九」をモチーフにした「マーチ」が有名ですが、こちらのサントラ盤は残念ながらＮＧ音源となっておりまして紹介することはできません。「テーマ」の方はお許しが出たようですので今回はこちらのみアップいたしました。（余談）作曲家ウォルター・カルロスは幼少の頃より自身が性同一性障害であることに気づき1960年代後半ごろからホルモン療法を受け始め1972年に女性への性転換手術を行ったと発表しました。まさにこの映画の為に曲作りをしていた時期と重なりますね。そして名前もウェンディ・カルロスと変えました。その後1980年公開映画「シャイニング」で再びキューブリック監督とタッグを組んで音楽を担当しました。So anyway, all of that was copy/pasted from the video that, until today, was the only place on the internet where you could find this particular track from the Clockwork Orange soundtrack. I often use it in episodes of @ChickenPhilosophy and put the URL in the comments under "background music" and I was always a bit self-conscious about it because it used Wendy's dead-name in the title. That was the only thing I changed when I reposted it here. That and the image.Which brings me to the reason I started typing here.... that description (I just ran it through Google Translate) left out the most important thing...THE SOUNDTRACK TO TRON!!! 1982, that is. I'll start over: Hi guys (using the gender-neutral form of "guys" here). Umm... So, things about this episode:1. Episode 35 of Gwydion's Astral Podcast was originally titled "Coming Back Home" I think in reference to the idea of each of the personae returning to their "proper places" i.e. Edward to "Edward Reib's Podcast" (it was a thing, back then) BT to "The Esoterinerd Podcast," Gwydion to "Gwydion's Astral Podcast," and early efforts toward defining Pymander as a persona among the others as a synthesis of the others (long before Gwydion decided the Nyingma Monk-by-theft persona should be called Pymander).2. I changed it, just now, for YouTube to "GoatScape" because it popped into my head while scrolling Instagram and I thought it was funny but, after Googling it, it's already a thing here and there so it isn't original but that never stopped me before. Basically I didn't want people seeing a Gwydion video called "Coming Back Home" and mistakenly thinking that I'm not currently living in my home, which is India.3. This episode, back in February of 2016, was the very first time that the name Schlenchnünhiemer was mentioned in any way after "I" had stopped using the name sometime in the early to mid 90s. It was a poetic pen-name, as well as what we used to sign at the bottom of drawings and shit, back then. Edward once called him "proto-Gwydion" which I've never forgiven him for, and I never will. Shortly after this episode, Schlenchnünhiemer "took over" Gwydion's Astral Podcast, renaming it "Schlenchnünhiemer's Astral Podcast" and writing a new poem under that name, the first and only poem written by Schlenchnünhiemer since the 90s, which was called youtube.com/watch?v=mzThQrtgl4w4. I can't think of anything else. Just that anyone familiar with @ChickenPhilosophy in present day might be amused to hear Edward, Gwydion, BT and Pymander interacting 9 years ago and slowly evolving toward the personas they are today.5. I just found it again on archive.org and thought y'all over here on YouTube might wanna see it too, so... there you go. Were All DEVO Gwydions Astral Coffeehouse 2025-02-07 | So I watched "The Truth About De-Evolution" on YouTube and thought I was losing my mind because there were parts mssing and videos that came out after... let me back up... when I was like 7, back in '85, we had this pirated Beta, you know, when you play from one Betamax and record it on another Betamax... old school, anyway, so, I watched this Devo movie/video compilation hundreds of times as a kid, but according to the Internet, "The Truth About De-Evolution" didn't come out until 1993, and was missing Dr Detroit and the part where they were being crucified for like a minute was cut down to a split-second, and so I KNEW there was a missing movie out there somewhere.
