[Frequently Asked Questions] What is SRM and ACE? SRM stands for Stale Reference Manipulation. This is when the game unloads an actor but Link (or another actor that can carry other actors) continues to "hold onto it" despite it unloading. This allows for other things to load in the spot where the actor was while Link still writes position and rotation data where the actor used to exist. This memory corruption can be utilized to modify code that loads where the actor used to exist which is called ACE, Arbitrary Code Execution. ACE is performed when a game executes arbitrary code, and in this specific instance, we perform ace by using SRM to modify code that loaded in place of the rock Link was holding. The code that is modified is the Kokiri Children destroy function, so when we cross the loading plane back to the Deku Tree room, our arbitrary payload is executed. Is Japanese required? Yes, Japanese is required so we can form the filename required to launch the credits. An alternative method may be found in the future but it's very unlikely.
Can I use my N64 cart for this? What about Virtual Console? No, the only platform that this works on is the GameCube version because it has a built in function to play the credits from a video file stored on the disc that naturally plays part way through the emulated credits, presumably due to an audio desync issue. However, you can run this fully on Dolphin with the Japanese GameCube ISO (the one with Master Quest bundled) or the Japanese Collectors Edition ISO, as well as run it on your Wii with Nintendont. However, the leaderboards will only accept Physical Media runs as valid if you wish to get serious about the category. For practice though, it's encouraged to use Virtual Console on a Wii or Dolphin with an injected JP GC rom so you can use the watches to ensure you have your angles set up properly. The ROM is available in the resources channel of the OoT Speedrunning Discord (linked above).

First, we set the next entrance with death hole glitch, next we reload the room and grotto, then we die while sidehopping into the grotto and heal with a new stored heart container by closing a textbox, in this case: Farore's Wind with Walking While Talking. This loads the next entrance with our void out respawn coordinates and room number.

This is a new way to skip Deku Tree by clipping using a HESS + bomb push in the corner shown in this video. The corner is normally hard to clip through (only works with angle 02fx if just using HESS speed) but the addition of the bomb makes finding clipping setups considerably easier (while still being precise)
