This week our challenge was Artist's Choice. I chose to do three 12" round canvases using multiple techniques. Since taking @OlgaSoby "Secret Recipe" course, I've found blowouts to be a breeze and they turn out gorgeous everytime. I HIGHLY recommend it!!Once the blowouts have cured, I then apply each one of my Granddaughter's birth month flower stencil to each round. 2 Disastrous Resin Cutting Boards~8+Hours to Complete Perfection! #fluidart #resinart Pourfection Art by Treesie 2024-11-01 | #fluidart #acrylicpouring #arttutorial Hello Friends and welcome to my channel! This project was a project of love! I had the sweetest client reach out, broken hearted because , she and her daughter had taken a paint class where they painted 2 cutting/cheese boards. Once home, she tried to resin them herself.... With never using resin before, the results were disastrous!! These boards held so much sentimental value so when she reached out, I knew I had to give it my ALL to try and make them at least 80% better. They truly were the biggest challenge I had ever attempted and had many hours wondering if it was even possible. But I didn't have the heart to tell her, they just couldn't be saved. So, the sanding began!! This project took me well over 8 hours total but in the end, I was absolutelyTHRILLED!! Most importantly though, the client was blown away and forever grateful that these 2 treasured pieces were SAVED! Have you ever done that?? Do a painting that you love 90% of it but as it sits and dries, you just keep looking at it knowing it's missing something? I loved everything about this except the middle. The gold was just too harsh, to me, for such a soft piece. After looking and thinking, I decided to do some mixed media by adding a stencil using Gloss Gel and some of my original colors. This is a great technique that not only is cost effective but are an easy quick sale that people love to hang in their homes. I sell these in a local record store anywhere from $45.00-$65.00 - depending on the technique and cost of the frame. In today's video, I use the Shadow Box frames, found at Michael's. This task is not nearly as easy as it may sound to some! Its not just a matter of leaving parts of the canvas unpainted! With properly pulling off negative space, you want to have areas of the canvas that draw you in to see the beauty but you also want to have areas that allow the eye to rest. I personally LOVE the way this piece turned out, with the richness and flow of the bold jewel tone colors that fade out to the softness of the surrounding pearls and the outer "Negative Space”.
