Sony FX3 Firmware Update V3.0 + Free Footage - XAVC-S-I DCI 4K Scott Jeschke 2023-04-12 | Sony just dropped V3.00 for the Sony FX3 and V2.00 for the FX30 cinema line cameras. This update has long-awaited features like 24P and DCI 4K, which makes these cameras more of what you'd expect from "true cinema cameras." UPDATED NOTES: LENS BREATHING EX: Apologies for the lens breathing example. Though the anamorphic does a good job displaying the principle of lens breathing, I've since learned that the compensation feature only works for Sony lenses. DCI 4K WIDTH - Additionally, please ignore my statement about the width of DCI 4K being wider. The width will be the same, and the height will be slightly cropped for 24P, while maintaining a higher overall resolution than UHD. This is not shown here because I applied an aspect ratio that fit the DCI footage. But the footage downloads will accurately convey this. Apologies for the inaccurate info. The Filmmakers Plight - A Short Film Scott Jeschke 2023-02-01 | In this film I explore what I find to be the frequent plight of the artist. Coming up with an idea, weighing whether or not it is good enough, or whether or not it will be received by an audience, and judging whether or not it will be worth pursuing. The film is a meta conversation with myself. While going through this exact process, I overcame my obstacles by making this film, and putting as much effort and creativity as I could into the cinematography, shot listing, sound design, editing, color grading, etc. This film was shot on the Sony FX3 using the Tamron 16-28mm lens, the Tamron 28-75mm lens, and the SIRUI 50mm Anamorphic. A Time and a Place - CinePrint 16 Scott Jeschke 2022-08-21 | I'm always interested in exploring nostalgia. Something that I've come to define as a longing to recreate moments of joy. A longing that comes with a tinge of melancholy that you can never fully experience or recreate those moments. This film is intended to capture some of those fleeting moments of personal joy in a little timeless jewel box. This film was shot on my Sony FX3 cinema camera, using the CInePrint 16 Film Emulation Davinci Resolve Power Grade by Tom Bolles. This seemed like a good opportunity to emulate a nostalgic film look and try out this power grade. The grade has many print stocks including Kodak 238,3 which was used here.
