Elite drum teams from primary and secondary schools across Hong Kong will convene to compete in a joint event. The competition includes team-based matches, with the winning team determined by the highest number of online views accumulated over a two-week period. In addition to the inter-school team competitions, the event features a grand tutti ensemble performance. All participating teams in the junior division will collectively perform the theme piece "Danza," while teams in the intermediate division will jointly perform the theme piece "Problem." This magnificent ensemble showcase provides a platform for numerous young percussionists to demonstrate their exceptional skills and passion for music.

Consequently, this year's performance event will continue an inter-school competition element to provide opportunities for schools to exchange and hone their drumming skills. The competition will be named "2025 Modern Drumline Battle Joint School Competition (MDBHK) Individual & Ensemble (I&E)" and will be open to all primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong.

The 2025 Modern Drumline Battle Joint School Competition, referred to as MDBHK, is an inter-school drumline competition held as part of the Hong Kong International Drummer Festival. It is open to all primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong. Each participating team must compete in two main categories: solo performance and ensemble performance.

1. Drumpad Ensemble Junior (EDPJ)
size 5-30 members
aged 16 & Under

Elite drum teams from primary and secondary schools across Hong Kong will convene to compete in a joint event. The competition includes team-based matches, with the winning team determined by the highest number of online views accumulated over a two-week period. All participating teams in the junior division will collectively perform the theme piece "Danza," while teams in the intermediate division will jointly perform the theme piece "Problem." Hong Kong International Drummer Festival 2024-12-31 | 本節舉行三日兩夜之青年藝術家訓練活動，是次活動透過連續訓練提升學員的個人技術、圑隊合作精神、增強自信及鬥志。希望在演出及比賽前有規劃地幫助學員接受藝術薰陶，逐步提升藝術造詣。

我們非常榮幸能夠再次邀請到國際級軍鼓大師Kaito Haruta來港，不僅推廣鼓隊知識與文化，還將參與訓練活動並親自指導與分享經驗。

香港國際鼓手節的願景是以香港作為基地，與本地和國際音樂家和藝術家合作，將節奏融入生活中。

自2017年開始，鼓手節創立了以鼓隊形式為主的教育項目 "Drums n Move"，該計劃旨在結合西方鼓隊的演出形式，並加入多元化的鼓棍技巧和動作，以展現音樂與表演的結合。除了節奏、音色和動作的結合外，我們也注重隊伍的統一性、步法、團隊合作和紀律性。

3) Individual Drumpad Solo、
4) Individual Snare Solo.

比賽結束後，我們將進入傳統演出環節，由參與「鼓動節拍」項目的學校單位分成兩隊，與本地銅管樂隊Lucky 6一同演奏。

這個活動旨在提升學生對鼓樂的興趣和技巧，並促進校際間的交流和合作。我们致力於將音樂和表演融入生活中，為觀眾帶來一場難忘的音樂盛宴。

Vision of Hong Kong International Drummer Festival: We are based in Hong Kong and collaborate with local and international musicians and artists to integrate rhythm into life.

Since 2017, the HKDrumFest has launched the educational program "Drums n Move" focusing on drumline formations. The performances combine Western drumline core with diverse drumstick techniques and movements to express rhythm, sound, and form. Artistically, emphasis is placed on team structure, footwork, teamwork, and discipline.

Over the years, the festival has accumulated the importance of drumline training for students and absorbed the experience of the American Drum Corps International competition. This year's event will include inter-school competition elements, named the "2024 Modern Drumline Battle Competition," providing schools with the opportunity to showcase their drumming skills.

The program will be divided into competition and performance segments, with four competition categories:
1) Drumpad Ensemble Junior (EDPJ),
2) Drumline Mixed Ensemble Junior-Mixed with Drumpad and Percussion (EDPMJ),
3) Individual Drumpad Solo (IDPS),
4) Individual Snare Solo (ISS).

Following the competition segment, the traditional performance segment will feature a grand ensemble performance of two pieces titled "Drums n Move," with participating school units divided into two teams to perform alongside local brass band Lucky 6.

This event aims to enhance students' interest and skills in drumming, promote inter-school exchange and cooperation, and integrate music and performance into life, providing audiences with an unforgettable musical experience.

香港國際鼓手節的願景是以香港作為基地，與本地和國際音樂家和藝術家合作，將節奏融入生活中。

Call For School Application -Drums N Move 讓鼓棍飛 Drumming in Practice Scheme

Hong Kong International Drummer Festival 2024-06-13 | 香港國際鼓手節看重香港鼓組和鼓隊的潛力，亦肯定了音樂需在群體中一齊學習和演奏的樂趣和重要。

本節設計了追夢系列活動一和二，活動融合中國吹打樂，大鑼鼓多種起手式段落設計；推進到西式步操樂隊的齊整統一性的美學要求，加入鼓棍、轉、扭和離手等花式動作，演出手與鼓棍舞動之上緊扣鼓點節奏的線條美以及統一性和齊整度的美感，成為「讓鼓棍飛」鼓樂實踐計劃最終的鼓隊藝術品。整體畫面，由2-200人一起演出的【活動一：讓鼓棍飛鼓樂實踐計劃】；

另外，在鼓隊概念上，我們將音樂和科技結合，利用音樂節奏進行溝通，通過手部和身體，體驗進行自我表達，再加入AI、編碼、AR科技的訓練為橋梁，給SEN/Non-Sen學生的共融系列，融合了STEM與音樂的培訓課程【活動二： STEM 鼓動節拍 -鼓樂與科技實踐計劃】。
