Climate GroupWe find ourselves at a critical juncture in human history, where the grim reality of climate change is impacting everyone. We witness the unravelling of ecosystems and habitats that have thrived for millennia, the devastation of extreme weather events on our communities, the economic toll of climate-induced disasters, and the haunting spectre of a compromised future for generations to come.
But amidst this stark reality, there is hope and a call to action. We have the knowledge, the innovation, and the collective will to drive meaningful climate solutions. Business and government, those with the most power to drive change, must lead the charge. It is not just a moral imperative; it is an existential necessity. The time for action is now, and together, we can forge a path towards a resilient world for all.
Scientists have been on the frontline of the battle against climate change for years, tirelessly conducting research, analyzing data, and sounding the alarm on the urgent need for action. Their unwavering dedication and expertise have been instrumental in advancing our understanding of this global crisis and in driving the pursuit of innovative solutions.
Therefore, it’s our pleasure to thank the dedicated scientists who took part in the short film:
Rose M. Mutiso, Research Director, Energy for Growth Hub
Naomi Oreskes, Henry Charles Lea Professor of the History of Science and Affiliated Professor of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Harvard University
Professor Emily Shuckburgh, Director, Cambridge Zero, the University of Cambridge
Petteri Taalas, Secretary-General, World Meteorological Organization
As we watch the short video, 'Facing The New Reality,' crafted by Climate Group, let it inspire us, let it challenge us, and let it empower us to act—because the time to make a difference is now.

It has significant potential and is urgently needed to decarbonise electricity grids globally.
This session will be well suited to corporates who have started their renewable electricity journey or anyone who wishes to learn more about the potential of 24/7 CFE.
Speakers: James Dietrich, Chief Technology Officer @ Electricity Maps Juan Pablo Cerda, Co-Founder and CEO @ Renewabl Gabriel Umana, Head of Commercial @ Renewabl Chris Pennington, Director Energy & Sustainability @ Iron Mountain Data Centers Hosted by Rachel Swiatek, Senior Manager and 24/7 Campaign Lead @ Climate Group

#247Coalition #247CarbonFree #ClimateGroupReflection from North East Climate Forum 24Climate Group2024-10-14 | North East India is one of the carbon neutral regions of the country, yet it faces significant threats from climate change. In August, we convened the inaugural North East Climate Forum in Shillong, Meghalaya. It facilitated peer-to-peer learning and knowledge exchange, preparing ground for a collective vision to accelerate climate action.
Watch the video for some reflections from the Forum.

The technical intricacies of large-scale decarbonization are intertwined with governance challenges, such as process optimization, resiliency and cost management. Addressing these issues comprehensively is crucial for efficiently achieving significant, long-term carbon reduction. Historically, companies have favored funding small-scale pilot projects at single sites. However, to achieve substantial impact, it is imperative that we transition towards developing and executing a portfolio-wide decarbonization plan. This involves securing adequate funding and leveraging available incentives and innovative as-a-service methodologies.
Key questions to be addressed will include the following:
⭕ What are the critical components of a successful, programmatic carbon reduction plan? ⭕ How can organizations effectively balance cost and risk while driving investment in decarbonization initiatives? ⭕ How can businesses optimize their implementation partnerships to deploy both capex and as-a-service models? ⭕ What funding options and incentives are available to support large-scale decarbonization efforts?
