Multiple upward lightning flashes strike several tall towers in the city, some two, three and four at a time simultanously. A rare negative upward flash is captured striking a tower. Intense positive cloud-to-ground bolts produce loud sonic-booming thunder as well as trigger simultaneous upward lightning from the towers. Captured at 60fps and 1,500fps. Historic flash flooding closes St. Louis roads, interstates - July 26, 2022 Dan Robinson 2022-07-26 | Training thunderstorms with very heavy downpours produced 8 to 11 inches of rain in parts of the St. Louis metro area, blocking many of the roads, including interstates, in the metro with flooded sections and stranding numerous vehicles. The rainfall broke the all-time 24-hour precipitation record at Lambert International Airport. Date: Tuesday, July 26, 2022Shot list:1-4.) Stranded vehicles and stopped traffic as flooding blocks Intertstate 170 southbound near Ladue. One lane of northbound traffic was allowed to traverse the flooded section.5-7.) This was once again true on the western edges of the January 6, 2022 heavy snow event from Kentucky through West Virginia. A tractor-trailer slides into a stopped semi, pushing it into a third.
