For those that read video descriptions or comments, this comment on EPISODE 5 by @thatsme1268 make the most relevant point.
@GrandadIsAnOldMan For your own protection I suggest that you refer to the latest UK Electrical regulations BEFORE you install a new cable. Unlike days of yore when we could do anything we wished electrically (including re-wires) the regulations have changed recently (due to a family member of a UK politician being killed by shoddy electrical workmanship) I am sure that you now need to have the installation of the replacement cable and its terminations installed (complete with documentation proving the installation has been done correctly) by a qualified and certified UK electrician otherwise you may fall foul of the law and leave yourself open to prosecution. It would seem that in the UK we (as non electrical certified people) are now only allowed to change sockets/switches/lamp fittings but NOT any of the hard wiring in our houses. Please don't shoot the messenger.

For those that read video descriptions or comments, this comment on EPISODE 5 by @thatsme1268 make the most relevant point.
@GrandadIsAnOldMan For your own protection I suggest that you refer to the latest UK Electrical regulations BEFORE you install a new cable. Unlike days of yore when we could do anything we wished electrically (including re-wires) the regulations have changed recently (due to a family member of a UK politician being killed by shoddy electrical workmanship) I am sure that you now need to have the installation of the replacement cable and its terminations installed (complete with documentation proving the installation has been done correctly) by a qualified and certified UK electrician otherwise you may fall foul of the law and leave yourself open to prosecution. It would seem that in the UK we (as non electrical certified people) are now only allowed to change sockets/switches/lamp fittings but NOT any of the hard wiring in our houses. Please don't shoot the messenger.
