In Search of Amazing Older Female Characters Page Turners with Katja 2024-03-19 | Welcome to today's celebration of older female protagonists across genres - everything from contemporary and literary fiction to the expansive universes of sci-fi and fantasy and the suspenseful twists of mystery. Why focus on characters aged over 40? Well, even though I find age a not entirely linear experience, I do think that whatever age or gender we are, most of us can see how empowering it is to have older women in the spotlight in literature and portrayed as the heroes of their stories. Age is merely a facet of our stories, not the boundary.
