Because I don't think that's super clear, I did my best to communicate it in the video but I want to be more straightforward in text. The best way to talk about what this hack is, is to first talk about what it isn't. This hack is NOT a super polished super fair modern day kaizo that you'd find in like mario maker or on smwcentral or anything like that. It's also not exactly a collection of remixes per se, either, because it does have some pretty nonstandard stuff at times. The hack is, in it's nature, pretty messy, and I want to be clear that I do not view that as a fault, it was actually a guiding principle. Please, do not underestimate this hack. Even if it is not something that appeals to you.This hack is meant to be rough around the edges, and it's meant to prioritize quantity over quality (to an extent). It's not meant to have a difficulty curve and it's not meant to be fair. That's not to say it isn't fun or fair, but moreso that this hack really harkens back to kaizo origin. Making something to bully your good friends with. Most of the time that comes from difficulty, but there are hints of humor and frustration in there too y'know. This hack is simply about me taking SMS and making something wacky, evil, cruel, or just fun out of every single shine and blue coin. What that actually entails, well, you'll just have to find out.Which is why, once you advance the plaza state, the game completely opens up to you. I recognize many people that will want to play this aren't necessarily sunshine gods, and I know there ARE parts of the game that many people could enjoy (especially with savestates! Highly recommend!), that they would otherwise be locked out of. So, shine requirements for progression/episode selection have been completely removed. I know this kinda kills any%, but I'm not convinced people were going to run this game or work towards a greater goal to begin with. If that is a legitimate interest, please do play for 45 shines or something! I encourage it completely!Also, if you could be so kind, please share this hack around!! If it says tied 2nd place that means my record is tied with at least one other person so I didn't bother comparing.Many of these ILs required several frame perfect tricks (30fps) as well as just general clean play to pull off. Gemskip is very difficult to complete in the first place and requires many advanced techniques and glitches to perform. In this sense it likens itself to kaizo speedrunning, which I think is why I took such a fondness to it. Celeste Classic 3000m 2 dash strat/gem skip timesave warspyking 2020-05-15 | Played through celeste classic for the first time tonight, decided to do gem skip (skipping the second dash) for fun. Ended up saving time over the current TAS in the 3000m room as well as beating the room in 2 dashes bringing the minimum for the game down to 35. Neato.As for how to do it, it's honestly pretty easy. Just dash upright through the gap and then press jump/left at the same time when you go to wall jump. You'll perform a spike clip and then just jump up and dash up.
Celeste: 5C Speedrun in 23.460s warspyking 2019-12-04 | No I'm not learning the second demo or the door skip. 4HeadThis is me speedrunning the Chapter 5 C-Side. Don't be fooled I only did this to bop James' 24.548s. I don't plan on speedrunning much celeste in the future if at all. This was a fun one-time thing though. Decent time imo.
Celeste: 7B Golden Strawberry (Deathless) warspyking 2019-10-19 | This is the final and hardest golden I plan to get in celeste. This took around 19 hours to obtain, practice included. I now have every main game golden strawberry, imo a really cool achievement.While this level wasn't as technically difficult as 8B, or as brutal as 6B, the reason this level is the hardest is because of it's length. This is both the longest b-side, and the b-side with the second highest average difficulty. Cape Escape: True Ending (0 Yoshi Deaths) warspyking 2019-06-21 | Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you the most elaborate method of clearing Pit of Panga: The Cape Escape.After much research and routing and testing both in new physics and old, I finally found setups and strategies that made it so that this run not only was human viable, but also prevented yoshi deaths entirely.If you saw my last video you'll know that I already had a basic route involving frame perfect tricks, but the truth about that route is not only was it far too hard for me to pull off, but once you progressed in the level the first two yoshis died due to the things that prevented their murder despawning.
