The ride was based on an older Allan Herschel design called the Saturn 6 that was first introduced in 1948. IMPORTANT: Update about Flat Ride of the Week:Flat Ride of the Week has been an integral part of this channel since its debut nearly 3 years ago. With over 50 different rides covered, the series has certainly accomplished its goal of bringing more awareness in the ride enthusiast world about flat rides. However, Flat Ride of the Week, as you know it, is being suspended indefinitely. This was an extremely hard decision to make as I generally enjoy researching and producing the series. Flat Ride of the Week has never been a very popular series for this channel. It had a strong fanbase that supported the series well, but it was never as popular as the other content I produce.
